Hello, I would like your opinion because we do not have specialists in Corolla until the year 2000, because my car is a corolla year 2000 1.8 automatic is happening one thing I'm going for a ride and the car sometimes engages the fourth gear and the Sometimes not this maybe happened to some car and can give me a tip since already thankful for the attention.
i have a question,, i have seen almost all of your videos and really thankful,, i have a similar engine installed in a toyota 86 converted from diesel to gasoline but now it gives very bad mileage.. around 6km/L.. i tried almost every measure but useless.. changed injectors twice, got another map sensor changed fuel pump twice.. new spark plugs installed.(btw the plugs dont go black).. got another ecu.. o2 sensor connected to ecu,,, and now i m so fedup that i might sell my car half of its market price for this fuel consumption issue,,, kindly guide me to a useful solution,.,, waiting and thankful for your response..
consider paying a geeky car guy to put his swanky scanner on your car to detect problems. If he finds the problem to be a simple one like a PCV valve is needed, your cost to do it yourself is maybe $10-15. A scanner can see nearly every condition. My 1999 Corolla has enough sensors to narrow down my problems in most cases. Assume it is something simple and easy to fix... because smart guys design cars with certain things to wear out or get dirty inside and are easy to fix.
If there are cracks or brittleness in the pcv or grommet replace it. Remove pcv valve and shake it. If it rattles, it's good. If it's stuck, use carb cleaner and if it remains stuck replace it.
Hello peter, does the it is possible for the pcv to cause the car not to start when it's cold? Battery is new, fuel filter new,distributor new,fuel pump new, I've also replaced coolant temp sensor but the problem keeps coming back every morning when I start the car it cranks only but during the day no problem.
How come when I rev engine in park And let go of gas fast it dies and I have very bad gas mileage car also shakes upon cold start and failed emissions with too much HC and lots of CO how can I fix this for it to pass emissions has 240,000 miles
@@mj235064 Use a obd scanner to check for problems then google how to fix it. Then use youtube videos to fix problems if they are simple enough. Also, I recommend that you check out a channel called Chrisfix

Just did my PCV on my 2002 Yaris (on far right of engine) at 87.000 miles and it was just a little dirty and worth giving it a clean guys.

Egr valve on this car is all connected by tubes. No bolts at all

The PCV valve, it is easy to just pull out and push back in like that?
Yes, it's easy on these old corollas. In the newer ones you need to use a wrench to loosen/tighten it

Shake it you should hear it click if you don’t change
Try some carb cleaner on it 1st, don't know that I've ever had to buy a new one.

Will a clogged PCV valve cause a car to burn a quart of oil every other gasoline fill up? Or is that way too much oil? 156K miles on this Corolla 1.8.

my pcv just broke in half and the other half fell inside the engine. i dont know what to do. i cant drive my car with that piece inside right?
