MOST ACCESSIBLE FISH IN ADELAIDE? (and easiest to catch!)

  • Finding the right conditions, locations and techniques can be difficult during winter. But there is one fish that anybody can chase with a bit of luck on their side no matter what the conditions are. Adelaide's River Monsters!
    (However, there is one obstacle to get around. Finding cheap parking! Lmao!)

    - Gamakatsu Baitholder hook size 8,6 and 4.
    - 10lb Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon
    - JW TecTackle Split Shot size 2
    - 8lb J-Braid 8x

    - Plain White Bread
    - Canned Sweet Corn

    With the white bread get a pack of strawberry or raspberry jelly crystals and mix in into the bread. Wet the bread a little to blend it in and maybe a little flour then roll a a small amount to cover the hook. Toss it in and watch the carp love it. I've caught thousands of carp with this bait often much better than sweetcorn and use a size 4 or 6 circle hook on a running rig..

    Just in time! Just got home and sat down. You're always posting awesome content. Do many people fish around that area normally, and what do you do with the carp in such an populated area? Obviously can't be thrown back, just curious : - )

      Really appreciate it mate! Most of the city is fishable and hold fish, just got to bring them to you if you want the better results!
      I kept these ones for compost. But they can be fed to the hungry pelicans, buried or binned. ☺

      excellent bait for crabnets. catch freeze and cut up. blue crabs are going mad this year. Been fishing the Torrens for years favorite spot is where you are and across from the zoo.

    used to catch bigger carp than that down near the brewery on fish and chips,fish for me ,chips for the carp.

      I usually park for free at Thebarton tram stop (4hr limit) and take the free tram in to the city. There may be free parking off of War Memorial drive on the weekends but I haven't been past there in a while.

      It's not about the carp it's self it's the environment they are in, you wouldn't eat a carp out the Torrens buddy, full of dead bodies and rubbish.
      And the smell of them cooking is basically the smell of burning rubbish lol

      Carp are pigs. Carp eat Bread and Corn, but in SA Carp must be kept and not put back unless it's been killed since they are pest, use Carp as bait and you might catch Catfish.
