I was very fortunate to stay with family when I first moved to Salem. I moved to Keizer, not far from the Rec, and other than high housing in the whole area, it's great. Seems safe thus far (4.5 years), fire dept was here in a snap when called, quiet and nice subdivision that is decent but not flash. There's a small park on the river in walking distance that is a wonderful antidote to the craziness of the human world. I keep thinking this is a great place to be if SHTF, as there is plenty of productive land here and enough folks who know how to grow food. I am not in the "normal" economic echelons and live low on the food chain. Paying rent, food, electricity, auto insurance, and basics is about all there is. I do feel blessed here, as I have gotten by so far.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and perspective. Do you feel there are any major pros or cons that I missed in this video that would be helpful for people relocating to know? You mentioned a few in your comment but I know I’ve got a few clients watching that are considering moving to Keizer and would be thrilled to hear various perspectives.
You're right, there are definitely areas in Keizer that are closer to 15 minutes from downtown Salem. Thanks for mentioning it. What other pros and cons do you think I missed about living in Keizer? I know those who are thinking about relocating there would love to hear multiple perspectives. Thanks for watching ◡̈
I grew up in Amity , and looking to retire soon. I used to know Salem very well. just looking for a small SF home for myself and my wife, and NO HOA......... Just some place quite where I can build my amplifiers. Perhaps a conversation in the near future....
The summer is usually from June to September (coincides with the school year) and is typically around 80-100 degrees. We are starting to have warmer summers where the temp gets over 100 degrees, but that is not the norm. Weather that is 100+ isn't all summer long, thankfully. Where would you be relocating from?

I'd be delighted to help when the time is right. You can book a 1-1 buyer consult when you're ready.

That is not my area of expertise so I'm unable to provide useful info.
Salem / Keizer were all one at one time.
That is true. It still feels like they are very connected in many ways.
