I'm making my own comment so TH-cam pushes this up the comment section and LRR can see it. It would be soooo funny. I can already imagine his completely straight-faced, completely bonkers card analysis.
Even better, do a crack-a-pack with Gibb. "So uhh, here we have a pack of Mirror. Lesse we got a Thinkcast, 4 and a wet for a sorcery but it has Affidavit to make it cheaper. Got one of those weird 4 arm guys on it."
"Now that I've told a joke, I must undermine it immediately" --- Graham Stark, Internet Comedian Dear lord, editor! I hope you didn't have to tap out for that Roast!
The first 90 seconds made me think of the Time Spiral Remastered commercials that LRR did, especially the one with Ben, Kathleen and Graham smelling freshly opened packs and commenting on them like fine wines. Also, WotC's lawyers say that they can't encourage players to eat the cards. Hear that? Whatever you do, don't eat the delicious cards.
The pelt collector into immediately made me think of inscryption. Wrong pelt collector I now realize, but still, would recommend that game to magic players
Graham as a fellow BC west coast resident I appreciate the reference to the BC ferries arcade room. That room was great for kids like me who needed to kill time on boring ferry rides.
Not seen, but referenced mechanic, Selesnya's "Convoke" - When you are casting this spell, you may tap any number of your creatures to help pay for the casting cost by providing a mana of their color. and Golgari's "Undergrowth" - Do something needing a numerical value (gain +1/+1 counters, gain life, make tokens, etc) where the number is equal to the _creature_ cards in _your_ graveyard. Undergrowth kind of honked, there was a zomboy that drained with it and the guy that made insects, but really it wasn't amazing. (There was also the insect warrior that fought a flyer with it, but really you didn't care about Undergrowth, you wanted the fight)
Love these. Especially as this is my fav set. Guilds is such a good set. Plus Kathleen ran a really good dnd game set on ravnica. Always her to engage and say thanks to graham and those behind the camera for your continued hard work.Take care all. Regards.
Guilds was my first set playing magic, and its easily the set Im most familiar with the limited experience in as I did I think 1 - 2 drafts weekly? Just fell in love with the whole game and set, so it has a special place in my heart Now that that's over, torch courier was good when you had something you wanted to have haste immediately. If you didn't, it was just A 1 Drop haster, nothing special. It did what it needed, and pulled through when necessary. In my lgs, boros and izzet were Constantly the winners each week, and torch courier put in work. I also ran it in my muxus historic deck on arena for a while.
I, too, just assumed that the beetle was sitting on a branch or something. Discovering now that it was a bench all along makes me profoundly uncomfortable.
Oh yeah, that got me directly. Many of those boats are still in service and the "arcades" are still the same. Now a days on the newer boats you can just relax in the cafe and watch the game. Back in the 90's it was risk the smell of the arcade or wander the 10x10' gift shop for the whole 2 hour ride.
Pretty sure these videos are the documentation of Graham’s descent into madness. Either that or he just sort of turns his brain off and lets words fall out of the front of his head.
I am this years old and I finally realized that "go wide" as a strategy means to put out a lot of creatures because then your line of creatures gets wider on the battlefield. Unless you're the kind of monster who arranges your creatures in two lines in front of your lands. (Not that I am, but I could be someday.)
"That's got to be I've of the worst segues I've done in a very long time." Future Graham: Challenge accepted! I like these comforting little bits, more substantial than a piece of candy, but not as filling as a large hot fast food sandwich; sometimes you just want a deluxe snack bag of chips.
This was the first time I have ever even seen Fearless Halberdier. I have ZERO recollection of that card's existence! That was a very weird moment for me.
I'm having flashbacks to games i had against Legion Warboss. I dont always play red so i never used it often, but that thing was so damn annoying to play aginst unless you answer it early
Matt's reference to The Mentor made we want to go watch it, but TH-cam is claiming that all of the videos on LRR's main channel don't exists, except for Friday Nights. Very confused/concerned.
There was a thing with LRR's main channel and a Multi-Channel Network they belonged to. Graham is trying to get their videos back up, but it's a long process.
Dear Graham! I know you mentioned that you are starting to lose your mind during these. I just wanted to let you know that it's spreading. Since I saw this episode whenever I say "is it?" (I'm german, but it sounds similar enough) I get that jingle you sang into my head. For HOURS on end sometimes. So, thnaks, I guess?! ps: Thanks for the content 😄
Beej should host a Crack-a-pack at some point. Get him in on a Magic Origins pack, or some set he's real familiar with due to Puzzlequest.
I'm making my own comment so TH-cam pushes this up the comment section and LRR can see it.
It would be soooo funny. I can already imagine his completely straight-faced, completely bonkers card analysis.
I agree, it'd be interesting to see what he says. If it were Origins, I'm imagining him flipping a Liliana or Touch of Moonglove or something.
Even better, do a crack-a-pack with Gibb.
"So uhh, here we have a pack of Mirror. Lesse we got a Thinkcast, 4 and a wet for a sorcery but it has Affidavit to make it cheaper. Got one of those weird 4 arm guys on it."
Graham does great, but I really like this idea. I hope they take it into consideration
@@ILikePi31415926535 I read that in the gib voice and it felt right. XD
6:09 On the contrary, the citizens of Ravnica would have to stand for that, simply because the seat is taken by the bench sized beetle
I'd love to watch that crapshot again, if it wasn't currently in The Void

Dear lord, editor! I hope you didn't have to tap out for that Roast!
"You would think they would not stand for that"
Well, what are they going to do, sit on the bench that's occupied by the massive beetle?
OMG Graham you've unlocked a core memory by mentioning the Arcade rooms on the BC ferry. Thank you.
Dang, I haven't been on the ferry for a few years now; did they get rid of the arcade? No more Golden Axe?
I remember the arcade... havn't even been to BC in years. Loved that Arcade.
The first 90 seconds made me think of the Time Spiral Remastered commercials that LRR did, especially the one with Ben, Kathleen and Graham smelling freshly opened packs and commenting on them like fine wines.

I do so love watching Graham's descent into madness. Thank you for recording it and publishing it to the internets
I love the increasingly garbled pack-opening-sounds. Kudos to the editor(s), your work brings joy to those who encounter it.
En Contraire, Master Graham! The Ravnicans would have no choice BUT to stand, seeing as the beetle has commandeered the bench!
The pelt collector into immediately made me think of inscryption. Wrong pelt collector I now realize, but still, would recommend that game to magic players
I'm seriously thinking of picking it up. It looks so good
@@hiygamer it really is, go for it!
This is such a relaxing thing to me I’ve been really enjoying it
Yay! More crack a pack. I am glad to be a pelt collector this time. That creature rocks.
that "meer meer meer" at the end *got* me for some reason. well played.
Graham as a fellow BC west coast resident I appreciate the reference to the BC ferries arcade room. That room was great for kids like me who needed to kill time on boring ferry rides.
It's unreasonable how much I enjoy these videos.
(8:37) If you were to gird for battle, do you use a girdle?🤣

really enjoy the commentary on all the card's uses in draft! graham is also quite entertaining
Love these. Especially as this is my fav set. Guilds is such a good set. Plus Kathleen ran a really good dnd game set on ravnica. Always her to engage and say thanks to graham and those behind the camera for your continued hard work.Take care all. Regards.
I always feel better in the morning when I see that one of these is posted. I love the crack a packs
Ooooh, we're a rare this time, pals!
Cue the small children dancing around Graham singing "Graham wants to eat Magic cards, Graham wants to eat Magic cards"
Guilds was my first set playing magic, and its easily the set Im most familiar with the limited experience in as I did I think 1 - 2 drafts weekly? Just fell in love with the whole game and set, so it has a special place in my heart

I agree, gird is a pretty gird word
With the primary LRR channel being in the shadow realm at the moment, this is officially the greatest series on the internet.
Seattle ferries had the game room too... talk about a throw back whoa!
Bartizan Bats was extremely good at trading with Nightveil Predator, and that was basically the only reason I played it.
Gird for battle was also a staple in feather standard decks
They just fixed Mentor! Training is Mentor, but with the impetus on the smaller creature! Now it doesn't have to run out of gas! Woo!
Absolute favorite set to draft. One of my favorite standard environments too
Haha YES the old BC ferries arcade.
Going from Gibsons to horseshoe bay there wasn’t much time to play tho..
I, too, just assumed that the beetle was sitting on a branch or something. Discovering now that it was a bench all along makes me profoundly uncomfortable.
Thank you for that bit of nostalgia with the smell of an arcade on a BC ferry lol
these videos are so calming and great :)
Wow, the memories of the BC ferry's arcade rooms are being dredged up.
Those were some awfully fun times.
Graham: please do not eat the delicious, delicious cards.
Is the Ironshell beetle art a Hollow Knight reference? That bench looks awfully familiar
Did we just witness Graham have a miniature stroke?
Pretty sure these videos are the documentation of Graham’s descent into madness. Either that or he just sort of turns his brain off and lets words fall out of the front of his head.
Oh right.... This is LRRMTG, this escaped the void.
Some especially good editing on this one, Matt
I remember Torch Courier was a huge player in the Cavalcade of Calamity deck in Standard.
. . . Graham. Where did ALL the Crapshots go?! 7:03
I also apparently never really looked at the art before, as I thought that the Beetle was just perched on top of a metal lantern light pole.
Really thought you were talking about Duskshell Crawler.
I am this years old and I finally realized that "go wide" as a strategy means to put out a lot of creatures because then your line of creatures gets wider on the battlefield. Unless you're the kind of monster who arranges your creatures in two lines in front of your lands. (Not that I am, but I could be someday.)
What did you think "go tall" means?
I feel like Ironshell Beetle's art is an example of MTG's art direction learning their lesson from Ice Age Giant Growth.
:) Thanks for this video.
I had a Dolmen Gate swing and ping brew with the war bosses.
I cant believe I'm not the only one who thought of BC ferries when huffing guilds of ravnica
"I shall not read it."
I'm devastated.
Great episode!
Awesome! This was the set I started with, kinda nostalgic (even if it's been only 3 years, almost to the day :P)
Graham, that is a smell that I had thought was excised from my memory.
that goblin had some decent value in limited formats like draft, giving something huge haste late in the game could really swing the momentum
I run Torch Courier in historic goblins, get that Krenko Tin Street Kingpin going the turn it comes out.
i love torch carrier
"That's got to be I've of the worst segues I've done in a very long time."
Future Graham: Challenge accepted!
I like these comforting little bits, more substantial than a piece of candy, but not as filling as a large hot fast food sandwich; sometimes you just want a deluxe snack bag of chips.
I did not set out with the intention of implying that Graham is a deluxe snack, but upon further contemplation I will not retract my statement.
I remember the arcade of the ferry. I always checked if they had arkanoid or gauntlet legends
There are dozens of us, DOZENS!
I have so many copies of Ironshell Beatle and I mever noticed his size.
I actually run Torch Courier in my Historic Cavalcade of Calamity deck to give haste to a finisher
Thank you for lapel mic! Desk mic audio is less enjoyable!
legion warboss + divine visitation is so good in limited
The Ravnicans would have no choice but to stand for the beetle; they can't use the bench, after all
Why are the crapshots gone from all of youtube?
I GOT YOUR FERRY REFERENCE!
BC proud
How is the drawer with all the Crack-a-Pack overflow boosters not called the "Crack-a-Backlog"?
Legion Warboss was the best, I played that in basically every deck I had in that standard
The Izzet 1 shot wee dragonauts deck is among my favorite of all time in draft. Definitely not that powerful but fav.
I loved this set! Let’s get something dope!
"Yo, pick up your beetle."
This was the first time I have ever even seen Fearless Halberdier. I have ZERO recollection of that card's existence! That was a very weird moment for me.
I know it from the set, but also Sparky used it a lot.
Wow! A 1/3 with flew that droozes a card?
I love crack a pack but idk I wanna see some more spicy stuff. Maybe more collectors boosters or master sets ya know pull some spicy stuff mannn
Always thought iron shell was on top of a sword hilt, but holy shit it is a bench
Ravnica. Heck yeah
Would’t stand for a beetle that big, but with it on the bench it ain’t like you can sit for it either.
wish he would've said it was Portcullis Fine and he was almost there too
Don't worry, Ikea Shark, I'm not going to collect your pelt
the part at the start where the cards come together sounds like someone slurping soup and it weirds me out every time
I swagger most places but will maintain I am part of no solutions.
graham: hyping up bartizan bats
me: PFFFT more like FARTizan bats amirite ladies
Torch Courier was actually an integral part of a bad (but baller) standard reanimation deck.
I'm having flashbacks to games i had against Legion Warboss. I dont always play red so i never used it often, but that thing was so damn annoying to play aginst unless you answer it early

Maybe it’s just a really small bench?
Engagement for the engagement god!
Show us the token! Why do you often skip over the token?
Guilds was a fun set
Let us Collect the Pelts of many packs!
pack opening asmr
I always loved Torch Courier’s flavor text. The card was meh, but the flavor text was top notch.
:)
That is Dimir Dave on the cover. Show him some respect.
Don't eat the delicious Magic cards!
i went and tried to watch the crapshot... i forgot the channel was still down ;-;
My first pick is rent. Supporting LRR on patreon is like a 5th pick.
I remember the guild decks of this era had a mildew smell to them. Very odd.
I might have taken the murder over the rare, mostly because I prefer the control deck to the beat-down deck in this format.
Holy shit GRN was 2018?
Fuck yeah Mentor and Boros and now we're getting improved Mentor with Training!
Pelt Collector is an awesome card
