For a while, i always wondered why this song is called 'Charles' then I took a quick search at our good buddy google, and i saw one of the most common translation is 'Free man', aka basically survive through something. And....that's so chilling and awesome. This song is about toxic love surviving thru it (at least that's what my opinion is) and honestly, yeah the name 'Charles' is very fitting at it is basically what the song is about.

The most chilling lyric for me is at 3:17
"Forgive the lies, but it's still not right. There's none, there's none, there's none."
Now, what does it imply? Many things actually because we weren't given an object specifically. One can say that there was no forgiveness in the relationship. Another one can be that there was nothing right with the relationship. Or my favorite answer is the fact that the next word after "There's none" is love from "Love songs" which implies that the songs were fake all along.
Maybe I'm pulling an English teacher, but I just love how vague that part of the song is.

Its originally in Japanese and after listening to your covers of Jitter Doll and Error (which I listen to religiously), I think you'd come up with really good lyrics and perform it amazingly! :D

In my opinion, David can make decent translyrics for pretty much any song. ;3 Although, there are certainly some songs that aren't meant for English, like Snow Drive, but Kawaki wo Ameku translates pretty well.

The way you sing "We talk and talk, cicadas in the night" makes the second "talk" sound like "toxic" when you sing "cicadas" right after it. I was wondering if that was intentional considering the meaning of the song and the first line of the description.
