There are two main ways you can apply for a job on cruise ships, they are, to apply directly through the cruise lines website or go through a cruise ship recruitment agency. Today we are discussing why you will earn less money if you get a job through a cruise ship recruitment agency as opposed to applying directly through the cruise line.

Unfortunately the cruise lines won't deal direct except for the highest level jobs. If you are from a country they expect you to deal with their authorized agent if you tried using an agent from another country you would probably be denied a job. Each agency for a specific cruiseline has certain Territories of countries
I respectfully disagree with your statement Marty. I am from South Africa about to go work on a cruise ship in a few months and I was a direct hire from them.

Who else besides Harding Retail recruits for the shops, I'd love to get on either Viking or Virgin Voyages. I'm not having luck with Harding even though I was initially accepted
A lot of 3rd world crew agencies used to be very corrupt, crew often having to pay a backhander to the agency to get a job. Not sure if it is any better on cruise ships

Unfortunately For Musicians you do have to go through agencies, some pay a lot some don’t, you just have to make sure that you do your research.

I’ve received an offer from the cruise line directly, they’ve given me an offer (the same amount also shows on the online system) but when I received my draft contract, it’s less. Is this normal or am I missing something?

What's the bar for salary in Harding retail.also let me know about the process how long it will take if intervew allready done through company.in how many days they generally reply whether they select me or not.applying for retail.and after that the complete tenure till joining.your video is really helpful.
Harding is only £600 a month .. most people only work in shops for the shore leave

Crew from SEA are treated as cheap labourers on cruises. It’s pretty much modern day slavery-not my words, it came from an executive chef on a cruise :)
