    When you squeezed the mold I actually lol'd, because that is something I would do. But I fill up my molds with water and measure how much it took to know how much I need. Then I make a little more because I like to have extra rather than not enough. I have a hard time mixing little amounts of resin. The hands turned out really cool. And I love the elephant and the unicorn ❤❤ Thanks Kanella for sharing this video with us.

    Oh I LOVE the hands!! I had something similar at my wedding reception. They were gloved hands and forearms we painted satin black...they stood up vertically...and had a hole between the palms like a vase. My mom did beautiful faux flower arrangements in them in different shades of purple. They were centerpieces on the tables at my reception...and they were gifts for all my bridesmaids. I still have a set of them. A member of the family does ceramics, and she bought the mold. She has her own kiln and everything...so she made a bunch of them for me.

    Those hands would take way to much resin to fill plus its not my gig. Now with that being said the Elephant is adorable. To bad they don't have a large Elephant mold, now I wouldn't mind filling that one. I love Elephants super loving , smart and the best. I'd only make those hands if I got free resin or a 99% discount. 🥰🙈

The animals are seriously cute and those could turn into an entire Children's Line with all sorts of bits+bobs added for personalization👍 The open palms/hands could either hold a flower at the dinner table or one's special trinkets - an eye catching decor piece👌

  • @wysteriacarlino1302

    When I'm filling my molds, I fill them partially and squeeze the mold different ways & use a skewer (butt end) & make sure the mold is filled everywhere (no bubbles), then add more, do the same, add more...till the mold is full. I try to give the resin some time to degas before pouring & I use 91% alcohol to help with bubbles.
    I'm curious what happened when you used regular resin in the hands? You didn't say. I use regular resin in all my small molds especially the leftovers. I do use casting resin in large molds. Love the elephant!!!🐘

    • @KanellaCiracoArt
      @KanellaCiracoArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I used regular resin in the hand mold I did it in two steps/layers. I fill half with resin, let it cure, then I filled the rest

      @@KanellaCiracoArtLOL. I was just thinking of getting air bubbles out of medication in a syringe.

    Love the hands! It's really awesome how the resin picks up color from powder brushed on to the inside of molds! Have you ever tried using another colour of resin or clear resin rather than black? is black resin essential for the final look to be so shiny/shimmery? I maybe just missed it if there was an explanation already in a previous video?

    • @kellyjean4981
      @kellyjean4981 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      When using the interference powders, a dark resin is best as that is what will help the powder colours really pop and standout

      You can only use regular resin if you pour it in about 4 separate layers. Waiting for each layer to dry. Casting resin will allow you to pour it all at once.
