Keep these coming... I somehow always learn something from these videos or my eyes are opened to something that was right in front of my face all along. Also, Pedro; Your AI shortcut for the conversion from notion > HTML is awesome LOL!
learned about cmd+escape i think in your slack channel awhile back. absolutely love it. i love the window management but haven't dug that deeply into the new stuff you all have added, time to go watch that video! great vid, thanks!
It took me months from first learning that "Script Commands" existed and finally taking some time to learn how to use them. Now they're essential to me, and I keep adding more and more script commands to my arsenal. I think they might actually be bigger than actual extensions, to me, right now. With AI tools like Cursor (code editor) and Warp (Terminal alternative), not to mention Raycast's own AI features, coding simple things like scripts has become absolutely accessible to non-programmers. And it's SO powerful.
@@raycastapp There’s one I use for my work which is basically a quick link with superpowers: it takes my selected text, opens 4 different pages using my selected text as part of the URLs, then inserts all the URLs into a template for kind of a mini-report and copies it to my clipboard. With one command, I trigger 4 searches and get a paste-ready report that only needs minor edits. Saves me a ton of clicks and clacks!
@@raycastapp I’ve also built one to apply simple markdown formatting. It’s useful for adding the wrapping underscores and asterisks to text in boxes that I know take markdown but don’t have WYSIWIG or keyboard shortcuts for formatting.
Yo, Raycast team. I know about the CMD + Escape command, but I find it absolutely unhandy and it’s breaking my fingers all the time, so I end up hard-pressing Escape repeatedly. But I just had an idea: what if you press and hold Escape for like half a second to get back to the root search?
Another +1 to this idea! It's so good I wouldn't even make it a toggle. Just find a length that feels not too short to hold down the key and have Esc work like this by default.
Thx! I learn about AI Preset today. I was still using AI commands, but I always got an answer before I could ask my own contextualized question. I am now a successful adult!
You guys are really doing a terrific job in this series! Just 2 things I would like to know. Is there a way to change the shortcuts inside “Actions”? And the only thing I miss from Alfred is the root shortcut to move a file to another folder? Where am I missing it? Ps: that’s an amazing wallpaper! Could you share with us? Thanks!
Currently, default shortcuts in the action panel are not configurable. You can add a hotkey to anything you can find in the root search via the Raycast Settings, though. For moving files, you can create a hotkey to launch File Search and then use the move action from the Panel for the file you want to move.
@@raycastapp wow nice tips! You nailed it! I’m going to try right now! The only thing I think could improve that is if you already selected the file, you don't need to search in File Search before move it.
Awesome video 🎉 wonder if there will be a feature where as you go into the gif search menu for example (or any command), rather than cmd K to search for next actions, if you could use a keyword like vim. So example you type :copy which would perform the copy to clipboard command. An alternative way to navigate through commands if you will. Thanks again for the cool content!
Got me wondering if you can sort automate some decent chunks of the newsletter by piping in say, a feed of new hires, chats from a team picks Slack channel, recent video links, etc., then give AI some examples of previous newsletter formats and let 'er rip.
Friends, what are you doing? As a committed user of your app, I paid for a subscription, and you blocked my access because I'm from Russia. Thank you. Goodbye.
Hi, We are very sorry about this, but indeed due to recent restrictions imposed by the U.S. on software products and services, and since Raycast is a U.S. and UK registered business, we must comply with these regulations, regardless of how we feel about them. Blocking access to Raycast from Russia is one of these restrictions. We have communicated this in our Slack community along with the measures we have implemented. We completely empathize with your frustration. We appreciate all our users regardless of their nationality or location. This is something we are not proud of but unfortunately it is something that we had to do. The best we can offer you at the moment is to cancel and fully refund your last subscription payment, if this has not been done yet, since we failed to provide the service we promised.
TIL about CMD + Escape, exactly the thing I needed. Woohoo!
Glad you learned something new!
came here to say this haha

Glad to hear! What are some specific use cases you leverage Script Commands for? 👾

Nice time piece, Pedro. What is it? Cartier?
Thanks! Yeah, a tank!
Is there any Raycast extension to quickly convert images from PNG to WEBP ? The saving in file size is crazy
Check this one out 👉 www.raycast.com/HelloImSteven/sips
