    Bravo on getting those out of the cup and separated without damaging the roots! Can't wait to see how you plant them now. I think I might be hurting my bare root transplants.

    Wow, the leaves on those pepper plants are so healthy and luscious. The root system is amazing! Here in florida, it stays warm almost all year round. Especially this past winter. I bring the seedling outside as soon as I see a sprout. For me this is the easiest way to acclumate. the sun is super harse here. Great video!

    Nice video Khang! I like how you separated the Bahamian Goats. Also, the way you cut slots on the bottom of the cups made it very easy to pull them out. I wish I had done that on my cups.

    I learned that the cost of laziness of separating seedlings from one cup turns into a chore of detangling roots during transplant time. :)

    I discovered if I keep the original soil, dig a hole and put it in together with the plant to be transplanted into the new pot of soil - its survival rate is better.
    If I wash away the original soil, then transplant the plant into the new soil - it will drop all its leaves and sometimes it die.

    Hey man quick question, I have two trinidad scorpion plants in 3.5" pots that I got from a friend and I want to transplant them in larger pots to keep outside as dont have space for a garden or anything like that. The plants are roughly 14" tall with a decent root system, already bearing 2-3 decent peppers each. Any recommendations on soil/compost etc or pot sizing or anything that could help me out?

    Khang, I'm trying to grow some hot variety peppers and I'm having problems getting them to germinate. I do have them on a heat mat for about 3 weeks and no sign of germination. Should I continue to wait or do you think I should start over? Do they normally take long to germinate? Thanks, love your microgreen videos you inspired me to start growing my own.

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're using seeds that are older than 1 year, it could take up to 4 weeks sometimes. If you use fresh season from a previous season, it should take 7 - 10 days. Check video 1 in this series, that's how I do it every time, and always get good success.

    What is hydroponic water?

    • @nishensooriaarachchi2984
      @nishensooriaarachchi2984 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, hydroponic's is where you can grow plants in water but that water has chemical based nutrient solution so the plants get big and healthy but when you give soil plants "hydroponic nutrients" they grow much better with soil and chemical nutrients

    Hello i hope you can help me with a little problem i have right now: I grew jalapenos from seed and they have now ca. 7 real leaves. But the sides of these leaves are now curling up, so now it looks like a wrap if you know what i mean.
    The plant is placed under a LED growing light wich works great with my other plants and i fertilized it with the same pebbles as you did with your seedlings. The soil of the plant was always a little bit moist but not very wet.
    I hope you can give me some advice.

    Hey Khang! My plants are having a little bit of edema eventhough I give less than one cup of water everytime i water them. They are in 1 litre containers. How is that possible and how do you water your peppers?

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be that there is not enough airflow and the soil is wet for too long. I suggest letting the soil dry out between watering.

      Peppers can be grown in ground, buckets, pots or grow bags. What is it about this method that confused you?

    • @ProfitableSistas
      @ProfitableSistas 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that. I just want to know why you changed your method. is there a reason for this? I was about ready to make all my buckets. All materials purchased. ..

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Growbags are great for air pruning. If the roots grow outside of the bags and are exposed to air, they die back forcing new roots to form. More roots equals more growth. I still use buckets, but also use grow bags.

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know exactly, I never measure. Usually what I do for 5 gal buckets is 1/3 manure and compost, 1/3 potting mix, 1/3 old soil. Add 2 handful of perlite and that's my mix. You can get manure and compost at Home Depot or your local nursery.
