    At 20:55 was where we got caught up last time. The scrambling was a bit more than we expected at 4am getting to that point. Other than that I will always love kings. It's such a fun hike.

      Thank you for saying that Suzanne. It really means a lot to know when your work reaches someone. It’s what keeps me making Trail Guides! Take care.

    Can't believe this only has 4 likes and 190 views. Seriously underrated video. The 360 bugged me a bit, but all in all great!

      Hi Bovine, thank you for your response and your compliment. I hear you 100% about the 360°. It was way too shaky, but it was also my 1st trip using this brand new camera. I have spent the last year perfecting my technique and will be posting better videos in the weeks/months to come. Stay tuned! Cheers.

    I climbed king decades ago. I want to go 2021. Wanna go? I like solo but this is the kind of a assent that is best shared. Inspiration. Thanks for the video brother.

    Fish eye killed it for me after about 5-mins. Felt like I was staring into a spoon. Shame.

    The links for your GPS stuff don't work anymore. Do you still have them? Going in a few months and would like to see where it is you camped. Is it by the pond at the base of Gunsight? Thanks man! Great Video!!

    Do you carry any personal protection against wildlife (cougars, bears, etc.) while in such an isolated area such as mace or a firearm?

    • @360trailguide4
      @360trailguide4  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, thanks for watching and commenting. When I did this hike the first time, I carried my 9mm on my hip belt fully exposed since I do not possess a concealed license. To be honest, I mostly scared the boy scouts and got weird looks from everyone else. In my three trips up there I've never seen any trace of bears or cougars. No tracks or scat. I'm no expert, but I look for those things. So, my 2nd and 3rd trips to the Uintas I did not bring a weapon. I will say, on my first trip to King's Peak, a mother moose and her baby ran right pass me just 15-20 feet away. I can see wanting a weapon in that situation just in case you spook the mother and she gets aggressive. But, they both just looked at me for a second and ran on. :)

      I remember hiking that trail around 18 years ago when I was probably 14 or so on a “50 miler” with the scouts (the all around trip turned out being way more than 50 miles overall lol). Of course we all had our own hiking pace but I was towards the front and I remember coming across this meadow just before a lightning storm and seeing a huge moose across the way. This was still when most people were using wind up Kodak cameras that you had to take to the store to be developed but I was able to get a few shots of the moose (unfortunately without any sort of zoom for a closer picture) but I also knew to keep my distance knowing that moose can be very dangerous if feeling threatened. Overall it was an awesome backpacking trip with hard backpacking but a lot of rewarding feeling and stories at the end of it all. Would love to go do it again someday!

    So its 2 night on the trail and 1 night before the hike that i should prepare for? 1 night before the hike, 1 night during the hike there and 1 night during the hike back?

    • @360trailguide4
      @360trailguide4  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Lawrence, sorry for my delayed response. I car camped at the trailhead the 1st night. Hiked about 9+ miles the next day and camped just below Gunsight Pass. The next day I left my tent and other things at my base camp then summited King's Peak, but came back to camp, packed up all my stuff and hiked back to my car. That night I slept in my SUV then drove home the next morning. That hike out is a pretty long haul for most people but it is all downhill and relatively easy for an experienced backpacker. Just get an EARLY start to your summit day. I started at like 5:30AM. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers.

      360 Trail Guide thank you for the reply. It does help alot. I might have to take it easy because i have a heart condition so i get fatigue quicker than most.

      I see, then I recommend planning on camping 2 nights by Gunsight Pass. Summiting King's Peak is exhausting so you'll be ready to relax when you get back to camp. Having everything already setup for you will be a God-send. Enjoy yourself and be safe. Happy trails.

    Are you still building the findmyrhythm.com website? It would be great to see what you've come up with regarding meditation etc. Personally, the whole Highline trail has always interested me, but I haven't done it yet, so I found this video quite helpful and encouraging.

      Hi Austin, I'm a little overdue on responding so I apologize. First of all, thanks for watching and commenting. I'm so glad it helped you in some way. As for my website, I have not dedicated the time nor the money to maintain the website for quite some time, however, hearing your interest in it is encouraging to me. So, I thank you in return. Cheers.
