The limitation to squared layouts of most of these city builders is a bit of a let down and authenticity killer IMO. It really makes you appreciate games like Manor Lords.
I don't even play "clone" games anymore for example. I like Banished for Banished, I like Anno for Anno but there's SOOOOOOOO many games that copy these formula's, most without even their own take or change on the formula; straight 1:1 rip of the game they're copying. I'm sick of playing those games and no longer support them. I will only support original ideas from now on as I'm so tired of all the copy and paste games. Manor Lords is a truly unique game and I hope the dev sticks with it and finishes it. It's such a breath of fresh air in the city building / colony / strategy genre.
@j.w.5510 Manor Lords has also taken a lot of the good parts from Age of Empires and City Skylines. But they have done a really good job of making it their own formula.
This is from the same devs as the farm manager series so its based on them. Tho obviously this time with a medievel theme to it. They all had positive reviews on steam. Its £13.56 for me as i have them so it is tempting.
OK this surprised me! Kind of reminds me of Banished or Medieval Dynasty or that line of building games. I like it! Need to put it on my wishlist and watch a bit more from you 🤩
This is really surprisingly good. A lot of these types game don't hold my interest even though they should but yeah this one has me going "I want to see more". Very interesting.
1200 would be a bit early but in 1400 they had water or wind powered sawpits. Some even understood how to shape the blade so it bites and moves the wood while sawing.

@@rikterandersson3568 yeah manor lords just changed something quite significant,as weve always had to play the grid system in so many games and here we have something different and in my opinion..better 8),cheers for the reply btw.

my thoughts exactly

I heard ANNO 117 gets curved roads. Its blasphemy for OG boomers like me but Im sure it will be good anyways.

I love that you try them all. have you heard of a game called Going medieval? its still in early access but its good game.
This is great for AoE fans!
Seems like a more casual/simpler version of manor lords without the constant threat of battle?🤔
There's nothing more simpler than manure lords lol

This!! 1000 %!
This game is awesome but how in hell they managed to set quarry on fire stone cannot burn well it makes sence it has wooden scafelty.
An automated sawmill in the year 1200??

I cant go back to grid like games of yesteryear after playing manor lords 8).
It's a grid to just a different shape.
Agree, this doesn't mean feudal baron is bad or anything. I am curious to try it, but dang the ''hard'' grid look just looks so old.

coool
I don't see the purpose of needing to tell the workshop where the places it has to build are.
me neither.
continues play Ark of Charon pls
Where is Anno Episode?
It looks like a worse version of Banished.
Yeah exactly, I dont understand the Manor Lords comparisons at all. Because in that case BFME or AoE are also Like manor lords.
Defining an area is an interesting feature, but the workshop feels rather anoying. Also the map feels rather empty.

yea it's really bad.
