yes more media exposure for non-rpdr queens please Edit: please stop telling me these queens are on now, this was 2 years ago, I own a television, and you clearly don’t own a hobby.
Well I don’t think it’s about the gender of the actual person. When they’re in drag, they’re playing a character. And the best thing to do is go along with it and have a bit of fun. Also, sex and gender are two different things, get with the times.
I see drag as a true form of art that requires a lot of talent in many aspects, doing makeup, hair, fashion and stage performances and also pain tolerance I mean tucking and heels for hours (I'm myself a girl that can't stand in heels for more than a couple of minutes). You just gotta give so much respect to all drag queens really.
Jan Sport is such a sweetheart in these Buzzfeed videos, ohmygoodness! She's comes off as really kind and beautiful. Someone who respects others and deserves it right back ☺💜💜
Z D lmao 😂 the fact that you went out of your way to come “correct” the pronouns people are using on a video about drag queens says a lot about you. grow up dude lol
Toe Nail you’re entirely missing the point of gender fluidity and playing with gender. It doesn’t matter if you call that person “him” or “her” Did you even watch the video. GENDER EXPRESSION
It starts with a full shave, soak in the bath, doing skin treatments & body wraps, full exfoliating, full tanning, full moisturizing, mani, pedi, scrolling insta for inspo, watching youtube for lip sync song ideas, trying on different wigs, trying on different outfits, trying on shoes, ironing or steaming wrinkles out of chosen outfit, styling the wig, mending a gown or sewing in pads into your pantyhose, picking up your breast plate from the dry cleaners, ordering take-out to eat in between getting ready, brushing teeth again, going to poop, doucheing after poop, putting on moisturizing face mask & prepping skin with anti-aging treatments, doing makeup, cleaning lashes, dumping entire bag to find your lash glue, waiting for each makeup layer to set before moving unto the next step, whitening teeth with strips or mouth guard, washing out mouth to finish doing lips, trying on wig, applying nylon over head, gluing down wig to nylon, cutting off excess nylon, flipping hair & practicing routine to make sure it's secure, restyling hair, pulling skin back with face-lift tape & tying strings inside wig, sending emails, calling up friends to check if they're coming to the gig, calling the gig to double check where you are in the line-up, finally putting on outfit, adjusting any hip pads, taping down breast plate, putting on shoes & jewelry, putting on perfume, grabbing purse (after 20 minutes of trying different bags on in the mirror), grab keys & head out. There's other steps I'm probably forgetting, but this sounds like the gist. If you take your time & enjoy the process, then it's easy to see how it could take 7 hours (4 hours if you're rushed). And this doesn't count cleaning up your mess as you go.
i’m a beginner drag queen and i’m spending the next few years tweaking my look and creating better outfits. because i’m underage, i cant really go out and perform yet, but many queens in my area have been so supportive and helpful for when i will be performing. loved hearing what you all had to say, lots of love to my sisters 💕
School talent shows, and plays. The first time I performed in drag was during a high school talent show where I did stand up comedy and did a spoken word poem. I played the bearded woman in a play I've played the mom in several plays all during high school. But if you're school is kinda strict about that perfect your act in your bedroom or in the backyard for your friends so that you can at least get some practice before you start trying to get booked for gigs.
I would love to see some drag king content too! Drag queens are so wonderful but you hardly ever hear from the other side. I know a while back there was a video of some girls from BuzzFeed being dressed in drag, but I'd love to hear from professionals too
returning to this after Jan's elimination and throwing back to when I starting being a fan of these three after this video released lol. They're all so pretty and sweet
Omg I love this. Drag Queens are like the fantasy dress up I wish I had the courage to do on a day to day. And honestly, I have always admired the drag queen make up, but never thought I could do it, being a cis woman. It’s inspiring hearing this. Anyone can do it. I love it. This combines my love of make up, art and theatre all together with heaps of sparkle and sass. What’s not to love?!
I love Jan. I am so proud of her and all this recognition she is getting because she deserves it! You're such a talented queen, I have seen you preform once with Stephanie's Child and it was INCREDIBLE! I can't wait to come to more gigs in NYC as soon as I am old enough. To all the people who are leaving rude comments too, please log off. These queens do nothing but work hard on their craft and love what they do. Drag is an artform and if you don't like it fine, but appreciate everything these queens are doing because it is NOT easy.
Gorgeous!! The mainstream media has such a narrow perception of what drag is. I appreciate that these queens broke it down in a way that did not adhere to the one-sidedness that drag race fans are exposed to.
Jaid Nights Riot Girl practice! I am a (budding) drag king, and I can tell you that practice makes perfect and it’s fun to just mess around with makeup. School of TH-cam
@@MsDannyNicole Do you have any recommendations for Drag King TH-camrs with guides or do you use general makeup tutorials? I'm interested in getting started in drag (king) but haven't found any tutorials that really helped me.

My biggest tip would be to make sure you measure your lash for your eye. Most lashes are too long and you will need to cut some from the inner corner. It should lay alot better and upright! Feel free to reach out via instagram at @TheOliviaLux if you have any other questions! XO, Olivia
