- The Boston Bruins invited the parents of Lt. Charles Jacobs, of the 182nd infantry, for the ceremonial puck drop. They are surprised when their son, thought to be in Afghanistan, arrives to present them the puck.

My brother's on his way home from his 5th tour in Afghanistan. God I can't wait!! It's tough to hug your family/friends before they leave... never knowing if it's the last time you're going to get to hug them. First week in December can't get here soon enough!!

Thats hockey fans, listen to the respect and cheering, even before the solider comes out. I saw similar at an NBA game and a NFL game, it was nothing like this. Thank you for your service, hockey fans are the best in the sports.

this is coming from a Sabres fan (from Buffalo) but this is awesome and thank you for your service. I was watching the game after the Boston bombings, felt like we were all on the same team. Even though the Sabres won, I wanted the Bruins to win for the crowd. Classy of both teams to salute the fans at the end of the game that night. Also classy of coach Julien to handshake them at the end as they walk back.
Big Habs fan, naturally I hate the Bruins but this video almost brings tears to my eyes. Serving your nation is the best thing you can do, he really has great parents.

LT Jacobs was my squad leader at school. I saw this when out to dinner with my folks. I turned a few heads when I shouted "hey, I know that guy".
