    43:00 The solo instructions for "Bring to Battle" say that when the imaginary player retains the initiative after performing a Naval Search or Signals action, you still roll on the action table to see what they do next.

    29:18 After the signal action, the German TF could have done a time lapse. Also, there should have been a Seize Initiative at the end of that signal action. Great video!

    I think you could be right, but I think it’s a “man” thing. My dad bread budgies for years. And then started gardening. Literally came home from work and disappeared. I have a lot of pals who have different hobbies (golf, fishing, gardening etc) they are all as obsessed as me. Those that don’t have hobbies spend their time down the pub.

    Great play through, Rough! You’re a cruel man for ending the video with an anticlimax. Can’t wait to find out the fate of the Graf Spee. I presume they must have a Bismarck scenario. Can we do that next?

      Hi Stephen, glad you enjoyed the video! There are Bismarck scenarios but I'll probably have to get back to them later as I've done quite a lot of videos on the game and the pile of games to play for the channel is getting high!! It has turned out to be one of my favourite games of the year though! :)

    I just finished this scenario, and the Germans failed miserably. I ended up with -6 VPs due to 2 of my ships being sunk. I did manage to capture one convoy, and was able to complete in South America with one of my task forces. One thing I noticed that you overlooked (I did as well for the first several turns) is that when the Brits have a seize initiative attempt, you're supposed to roll a d6 to see if they do try to seize it (1 to 4) or take an evasive maneuvers marker instead (5 or 6).

      Thanks again Timothy for pointing these out. 👍

      Played a second time and did extremely well. I was able to sieze two convoys, had a task force complete in South America, and sunk a British light cruiser. Only one British task force was able to complete, and they weren't able to manage a single hit on any of my ships. I ended up leaving the Widder in the port box the entire scenario and had them complete from there at the very end. I did bring the Graf Spee in, but left them in the port box until the weather turned bad, then sent them steaming for the northernmost RV marker. They ended up developing severe mechanical problems, so I decided to risk having them complete in Mumansk rather than try sneaking past all of the airbases along the English coast. They were able to sneak in with no repercussions. Final score was 9! Raeder was extremely pleased.

    Why didn't you send the Graf Spee down to Montevideo? I heard it is beautiful this time of the year.

    Haven't read rules, by Station does that mean the convey stops, or that it is just located and stays in formation? WWII not my go to conflict, but need more solo war games.

    • @RoughSwordsmanWargamer
      @RoughSwordsmanWargamer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, a Station is a Task force that is found. From the rules: 'a Station is a point in space, which means its location will be known and thus, vulnerable to attack' :)

    No German refuelling? It was supposed to be done early on if I remember properly.

    • @RoughSwordsmanWargamer
      @RoughSwordsmanWargamer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mel, I don't think so if I remember correctly. The refuelling results are on a random table (for instance I think there was one roll that repaired a damage, so no point in rolling that early on). 🙂
