If you ask me, I think lack of direction was clearly the biggest problem with this addon since the concept in its own right is a neat idea. What they really should've done (in acending order of preference) is one of the following: - Focus the route purely on NSE with a brand new train to run on it, like a Class 414 and maybe some cheeky SR Bullied stock. - Focus the route purely on London Transport with LU signalling, assets and better platform lengths, layout and height. - Make an entirely new route with underground sections and deep level tunnels that any LU train fits right at home in. I've tried several times over the years to modify the route to reach some viability, but I usually give up halfway due to the route's shape and lack of backstory and lore. It's hard to be creative especially when the original Phorum route had better place names too. Good review, though, had the balls to play it more than I could.
I have a feeling that, if DTG had just focused on NSE instead of LT trains, they may well have just reused the existing Class 415 '4-EPB' (which is mediocre at best) or some other NSE unit they've already made. Come to think of it, it would've been a good opportunity to at least include an NSE reskin for the Class 03, as one of those little shunters was painted in that livery when she ran on the Isle of Wight. As for platform heights in relation to the 1938 stock, that's something I forgot to mention in the video. I think the best way I can summarize this add-on is thus; it was a good concept ruined by bad execution (just like Rivet Games' Swiss routes in TSW).
DTG will never learn from their poor business practices. If they put more work into this pack, it couldve been great, but since they didn’t, it's a complete farce
The issue at 11:55 with the headlights on the 1938 stock, is that they are head code lights and only come on when you set up the destination display, and they are all LT Northern line destinations so they don’t even correspond to this route
At this point I wouldn't be suprised if we would just start getting Loco Addon Bundles every month or so. As all they are are lazy reskins for butloads of money
I bought the pack a few years back for the 1938 tube stock and the assets. One thing you've missed on the 1938ts is that the trailer/non-driving units were pretty much modified from the driving ends, as the windows on one end of the train still had an opening flap instead of a door insert as it should be the case irl. Additionally, the assets within the heritage pack also contains a tube-sized tunnel that was hardly used in the Peninsula map - why couldn't DTG think about building a map using that crucial piece?!
For DTG they should remake the tram line using Blackpool trams or Manchester trams. If DTG brings this back for TSW 4 you get Class 20 57xx or A stock and layered from Bakerloo Line 1938 stock. Speaking of TSW 4 version if made Class 20 will then appear on TVL because the game will treat it exactly the same as TVL version same with Bremen 155 being treated as RSN version
I only use the route for reviews and the addon has a few good assets, such as a "new" stone loader to allow for loading stone. The texture in the 16T mineral wagon is the coal load, retextured to look like stone. If this was to be truly London Transport, then there'd be some Met Stock, as that is what the pannier pulled in modern day. Also, where's the Met Diesels and Electrics? Honestly, this was a slapdash attempt to keep the vocal minority pleased. Also, the brake-van originated from the Woodhead Route. Not the BR Blue Woodhead, that uses the correct Toad Diagram E brake van.
There's a freeware rendition of the Met Electrics in the Virtual District Line pack, although it doesn't include every member of the class (only Sarah Siddons in a couple of liveries, I think).
honestly, i feel that they should either redo train sim classic or just cancel production of the game all together / cease updates and work solely on train sim world.. i think the game is far beyond its playable life and needs to be put to rest.. and while they’re at it, transfer some of the routes
i think they should also work on having more routes that are worth peoples money, hence why i said transfer some of the ts classic routes. there should be no reason why we pay so much sometimes for so little
I strongly, strongly disagree. TSC is a very good game if you play DLC from the right developers. It is arguably better than TSW due to TSW feeling much more arcade like and I always prefer playing TSC instead. It has so much variety compared to TSW and there is so much third party DLC out there to use and play. TSC still has a long future ahead of it especially with new core updates being worked on. Arguably even longer than TSW since TSW just gets replaced by a new game each year which is incredibly annoying and puts me off from buying the game. TSC is definitely one of the best real life based Train Sims out there due to DLC variety and the stuff of good quality, tends to be very good. I even enjoy playing the lesser quality DLC at times.

Just fyi, all of the content from UKTS is still available on the internet archive

I believe the keybinds to change the destination is Ctrl + Shift + Numbers rather than the F7/F8 keys
the 38 Stock's headlights are controlled with the destination display using CTRL+SHIFT+5 and CTRL+SHIFT+6
2 months old now and it still got good points in it
The good news there are a ton of enhancements for this route. But I agree with your points 100%.
11:06 I’d kill to have a new S100 model. I mean, Victory Works made a S160 pack, why not an S100 one?
Why not a review for the Riviera line in the 50s? Would love to see that. 2:39

actually, the NSE stock is correct, they used it in the 1980/90-2000s for their heritage runs, ut the southern one is outragous

you have a good point in this video, i liked the route but even so its lazy as hell
DTG will be lazy and try to get as much money out of us as possible
