The security cooperation with Germany is just a small part of cooperation exsisting many years in all fields; High Tec', Medicine ,Science,Agriculture,Art, Bio Tec ecc.
If the ancestors of those Israeli pilots that were brutally murdered and that their blood is soaked in that soil would have seen them in that position inside those jets bearing the blue star of david with pride compared to where they were 80 yers ago...
It's so odd for me to see our F-16 Barak surrounded by all that grass ! Compared to North Europe, Israel is so dry and dusty. All our bases, except one, are in geographically arid locations with hardly any vegetation, only a short growing season in late winter then everything dries up to yellow scrub. Norvenich looks like a well kept golf course !
Well, if Climate Change goes on so fast, we will have those Conditions here as well soon....then you can teach us how to live in such dry Land. And some new Colour Changes for our Birds.....;-)

The Luftwaffe arrived with the IRF, the Italian AF and Greek AF 1-2 yrs ago to train in Israel. It's part of a cooperation between countries. Israel paid the gas for all participants. In regards to the conditions in the Middle-East just the southern part looks like a desert. The Northern part of Israel, most of Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, Iraq is very green and mountainous.
