Hi I'm a rising freshman and I took 9th lit H in 8th grade where my teacher said commas always need a fanboy following so can you please clarify the comma example on clarity? Sorry I just didn't quite understand how it worked, and thank you
hey! yeah no worries, i can understand how it can be a little confusing :)
you only use a fanboy with a comma when you're dealing with 2 independent clauses (a group of words that can stand alone as a sentence because it has a subject and a verb). An example being... I wanted to go for a walk, but it started to rain.
now sometimes... commas are used for clarity and don't necessarily need a fanboy conjunction after them. for example... when you're dealing with non-essential clauses (extra information to a sentence that isn't necessary for the main idea) you don’t use a fanboy conjunction in the sentence. An example being... My friend, who is a great cook, made dinner.
hope that helps :) lmk if you have any other questions!
I know this is off topic but your really gorgeous 😍
I literally got 800 in all sections for reading and writing except English conventionS(470)
that's awesome!! (glad this video is here to help you with the conventions part, you got this!!)
@@therealdeets I did not have it, English module 2 was a nightmare
Is it only video that I need to watch.. i mean does it cover alll grammar expected in sat ?
this video covers the basics of what you're going to want to know :) id definitely recommend running through khan's free grammar lessons as well, here's the link: www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/sat-reading-and-writing/x0d47bcec73eb6c4b:digital-sat-grammar-practice

What mic do you use??
that’s a great question..it’s actually one of my old recording mics for when i used to produce music!
Been watching her video just to get a look of her face and voice
pfttt
why is meet annalie followed by semicolon when its about to introduce you as a person, can it be colon? Bit confused
im so sorry for the late response..
easy rule of thumb:
if you can place a period between the two parts and they’re still complete sentences (they can stand alone), use a semicolon.
example: I finished my homework; now I can watch TV.
if you have a complete sentence followed by a fragment (like a list or an explanation), use a colon.
example: I need three things: a pen, a notebook, and a calculator.
if you need any more help or clarification, just let me know!
Is there going to be a Part 2?
hmm...perhaps :)
Thanks!
BTW, I think cherpumple sounds gross, too XD
i honestly don't even know what that is...
and no problem!
I just have a hard time on the difference between commas and semicolons
commas are used for breaks in sentences..to correctly use a semicolon, both sides of the sentence HAVE to be independent clauses (in other words, both sides of your sentence HAVE to be able to stand alone by themselves) does that help?
while your explanation is simple and to the point, I feel like it would be better if you explained the topics using independent and dependent clauses instead since it would provide a sure way to always analyze the question correctly. This method could cause overthinking and overcomplicating small things
really good video though!
im not changing myself sorry
Your videos are awesome but videos are not reaching people due to some issues : SEO friendly Descriptions, Hashtags and High valume rank tags (SEO)
no worries, ill find my way
