Yes, that tree is beautiful! It's pretty amazing to be in the natural jungle and not the concrete jungle of Singapore. It's definitely good for the soul. It's great that Singapore has allocated swathes of land to do do its own thing and provide nature loving residents like you all to the enjoy. We sometimes forget that forests, jungles and parks are the lungs of a country.
Wow that’s beautiful. I’ll be sure to check that out with my friends. Any other abandoned/countryside places in Singapore that you know of? Appreciate it!

Yeah I guess we’re used to walks like this and know we’re making enough noise to keep those creatures at bay. We’re mindful of snakes and bugs but don’t let it put us off. Millie - I actually forgot to put my walking boots on 😖 and we discovered the kids’ boots didn’t fit anymore that morning!
Great little adventure at the great little red dot!👍 Have you'll been to Mandai T15 Trail and Chestnut Nature Park before? Although Singapore is small, but there's still a numbers of beautiful natural reserve for us to explore!🏞️
We haven’t done the Mandai T15 actually 😯 a new for me to hear. I’ve saved it to my places to visit, thanks! I think I’ve done bits of chestnut nature park but not the family. So many more places to explore. I’d love to try and go to every single Npark and nature walk!
@@WONDERLUSTworldU can search on TH-cam “the lost ark of Singapore”, some videos will give detailed directions of how to get there. It’s a little detour from the rail corridor near queenstown/tanglin halt area. We started our walk from the rail corridor near Holland v/Ghim Moh
Turns out we have been there before, about 3 years ago! We understand it was built by some residents and I don’t know if we want to send too many people that way. It looks like an awesome place to hang out though!
Awesome walk! Reminded me of my NS days walking through the jungles in Marsiling with just a compass - wet, muddy at times but I think we were well protected with our army fatigues and combat boots. Looking at the terrain you ploughed through, my only worry for you would be snakes, sudden downpours and injury from too-slippery slopes. Other than that, it looked like a wonderful walk through the wild. Did u guys navigate with a compass, or Google Maps 😂?
This is the pristine Singapore of my childhood years! Used to wander around exploring the jungle and getting scratched up by lalang, whoch is a razor sharp elephant grass! But the mistake you made in trying to wade through the weeds is that you should have been wearing a full sleeved shirt and pants to protect from cuts and bruises. Also from stinging plants, insects, blood suckers and many items that could cause allergies! The best protection from insect stings I found was smearing Tiger Balm on my face, hands and feet!
We crossed paths with a king cobra many years ago at Sungai Buloh, quite an experience!! Milo was walking in front with a stick and walking with children provided lots of noise 😆 so any wildlife would have made a run for it I’m sure!
Not for a while actually but the kids are more confident now on their bikes so perhaps we should! Where do you think is good for beginners to go and where can we hire mountain bikes as ours wouldn't be suitable?
@WONDERLUSTworld Hmmm I'm not too sure either actually 😅 I've just been binging this channel called raw epics I think he's a guide as well on the trails and might provide rentals? Just thought that the scenery in this video was quite similar to the mountain biking ones. 😐
Well at least U guys & dolls got to taste a part of the NS jungle training experience........... Minus the warfare simulation pressure (AND pleasure !) lor 😮💨🥲🥴🥵🫠😄 JiaYou hor 🤘 加油 呵 🤌
Haha thanks. This is one of our favourite types of walk really. Completely immersed with some challenges along the way. I was confused with your mandarin as I knew the second character was oil, so I looked it up and I love how mandarin words come together, it’s also very frustrating for me (Millie) trying to learn 😆 so many different meanings. 加油 one more phrase to add to the many!

Thanks, we’re pretty used to wild walking from in the UK where we’d have to tackle stinging nettles and thorns which we haven’t encountered here actually. We’ll keep an eye out for lalang now, I just checked what it looks like.
What a lovely walk you all had. The countryside is so beautiful
Absolutely stunning!! We’d do it again in a heartbeat!

Exactly!! And it is so invigorating to be out in the wild. So glad we have this all on our doorstep!
That was absolutely wonderful, you do such interesting exploring
Glad you enjoyed it 😊 thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Nice one! Loved Birckenstock being mentioned haha 🎉
😂😂 Mentioned a lot! Hahaha. Thanks for watching, Paolo!!
Your kids are so lucky. It’s not just books all day long.
True! But they do love reading. I think we buy a lot of time with limiting screen time for our two 😊

Wah, so garang. No boots and long sleeve.
😂 it’s not too uneven! Was super fun.

Is not terrain uh. It's snakes and bugs and creepy crawlies.

Great choice of foot wear by your friend Qixin😬
😂😂 He should have known better 😂
wah off the beaten track
Yeah! Was super fun!! Thank you for watching!!
U can try out the “lost ark” at Alexandra forest next time
Ooh this sounds intriguing!! What is it?

Neither a compass nor google maps actually! We were following an old blog which is a little out of date… we have an updated version coming very soon!
Oh wow, no wonder your friend looked a little nervous 😂😂 Just kidding!!
😆
amazing how there's all this wild jungle really not far from extremely urban singapore XD
Not far at all! Just next door to each other!

Thankfully we didn't encounter anything worse than mozzie's! I have tiger balm so I will have to remember this for next time.
Wow!! You should try these again with better shoes. I heard rubber shoes are good for hiking muddy trails
We all had good shoes except Qixin 😂
Carrying a bamboo pole is support in uneven grass terrain
Thank you! It’s not too bad! 😊
@@WONDERLUSTworld 👍
there is king cobra in our wilderness, the pole give you some distance to part away grasses infront of you. better than using your hand.

A takeaway I get from watching this ... Never ever wear sandals when hiking!l😂

For the sake of good health, preferably ADD 🫒 *OLIVE OIL hor !*
加 { 橄榄油 } 咯 *!* 🤤🍯
😂
Family should carry sticks & wear some kind of rubber boots (short ones) because there may be muddy trails, snakes or leeches, etc.
Milo was leading the way with a stick! We did get pretty muddy but all part of the fun.
Soon this place will be buzzing with malls, Condos and people.....
Maybe one day. Plenty of other places to go too but this one is quite unique. Singapore is also very good at creating green spaces too.
Explore now before it's gone 😂
I think it’s protected land so it should be there for years to come ❤️
Govt will imposed ⛔ signs to the jungle? And build walkways cement paths, toilets, and PCN....😅😅😅😅
Maybe, but for now we can enjoy it as it is. There have been petitions in place to preserve it so we shall see.
Understand that you are a Malaysian, guess it will be more appropriate for you to use SG govt instead of just govt 😂😂😂
