Just be cautious of the Lodge‘s basement containers. They are resetting themselves after 30 or so ingame days if you‘re not visiting them. The safe in your room seems to be secure.
So far I haven't had that issue but I frequently travel to the lodge to do all my crafting and research and that could be why the basement container has been fin for me. But I'll probably move everything up to the safe to be sure. I have like 12k pounds of crafting material in the basement box I'd hate to lose. 😂😂
*spoiler alert* what about the safe that your companions items go into after the incident with the hunter? i never added anything to it because I was scared items might disappear, but all my companions items have never moved. ive been using the ammo cases, the storage box next to the research lab, and the weapons displays and I havent had anything disappear from those either. i visit the lodge pretty often tho
Since i dont do any crafting, my rule of thumb is to only pick up: -Digipicks -Credits -Medpacks -Gear better than my own It's a simple rule but it just works!
Re: companion pack mules. Legendary armor works for them too. I’ve got a helmet and a spacesuit with 25% resource weight reduction on my companion. Also some apparel boosts carry weight.
@@daddymacdown i'm definitely interested in more of your approach to reduce the fast travel temptation. I'm finding that going to 1 planet to do a few things and then go to loading screens to another planet is a real issue with immersion. I'd love to stay on a planet for longer but am finding not THAT much fun stuff to do. How to balance this loop now? Definitely not your typical BGS game but I know content will get fleshed out over time.
For me it's all about chillin. Going to random barren planets over and over again definitely can not be that fun. So for instance i'll start with a goal like getting side quest done. Then if that quest leads me to a planet i'll survey it. If I get tired of surveying i'll go to a POI so I can shoot some dudes. Then I'll do a main/faction quest. Kind of rinse and repeat and sometimes i spend more time doing quests, sometimes I want to survey a whole system, sometimes I just want to shoot dudes. Not everything in the game is fun in the purest sense of the word, but everything is definitely chill. I would say if you are getting bored planet hopping, go spend time building a new ship, or find a spot for a dope outpost, or just do some main/faction quests! You gotta ride the wave@@gary1488
- personal atmo - Jet pack legendary that reduces over-encumbered stamina drain and the magazine that does the same. - O2 use reduction outfit, consumable, and helmet legendary. With this you can carry even >1000 and still sprint indefinitely.
You’re showing your age with the Alanis Morissette reference. Back when MTV actually played music. Early 90’s references and the battle over New Jemison video got you another sub.
Re: O2 recovery and foods/chems, when I need to get back to my ship I'll usually pop an Amp and an O2 recovery food, and I can walk at full speed and barely ever have to slow down to recover O2. It makes an annoying walk back into a manageable one. With even better O2 recovery you barely notice the issue until you get super encumbered.
Really enjoy your video style. Funny, informative, great cuts, and the feeling of being narrated to by an NPC who was high on Aurora and woke up in that outfit.
Agreed! BUT ... because of how Bethesda's Creation Engine works:- 1) Draw the weapon you're using so the game goes into the weapon carrying animations - which, usually bypass carryweight limitations (as was available in Skyrim & FallOut4); 2) If you have mods installed (specifically the achievement enabler mod) use the old Skyrim / FallOut4 console commands (e.g. "player.setav carryweight 1" & "player.modav carryweight -2") to make your carryweight -1 ... i.e. any number (in this case carryweight) divided / multiplied by a negative number results in a negative number (no matter how much you're carrying). If that doesn't work, use the "player.forceav carryweight -1" command instead . NB: The game sometimes changes carryweight when certain events trigger, so you may need to reapply the command(s).
If I'm overweight while surveying a Moon, I usually just drain my health and go sleep. It's a good way to train up Wellness. If that's the perk where you have to heal X amount of hp for the challenge. As long as I am careful with boosting in low grav, I should be okay. I have traveled over 3000m while in the red with just the 2nd rank of the Boost perk.
That's awesome. I love hearing all these build opportunities and little tips for training. Starfield really isn't that bad when it comes to being overweight
I managed to early find a back pack that has Assisted Carry which drains 75% less oxygen when encumbered,so can basically carry all we want all the time!
Now, if only your companions could carry contraband... Also... "Everything has weight..." umm, except for most ammo. So stack that sh*t high and tight... You can almost never have too much of it.
randomly had this video recommended to me, it's like "the dude" plays video games. I am not super far into starfield, but this weekend I just stopped picking up everything that wasn't going to be worth a lot of credits, and never looked back.
Yo, just wanted to point out that (at least for me and a couple other people) that the first three levels of Fitness and any item that gives a Percentage increase to Oxygen doesn't seem to work. That includes Oxygen Boosted item effect and the item mod Oxygen Reserve. The items that add a fixed amount to Oxygen, like some foods, still seem to work. If you want to test it yourself to see if it's also broken with you, you can use the console to check your oxygen level (player.getav oxygen). Default is 100, if this value is still 100 after taking those perks or wearing the O2 Boosted items then it isn't working. The 100 is not a percentage as jumping takes away 5 points regardless of items worn, and food items boost it beyond 100.
This video is 11 minutes too long. Being over encumbered does (almost)nothing to you. Drag yourself to your ship with all your junk; deposit said junk and then sleep if you’re almost dead.
Not everyone is as good of a gamer as you nameed! Shit just watch other people talk about Starfield and being over encumbered is a problem for a lot of them. Thanks for watching though!

Random note, I think "encumbrance", like hit points and experience points, is a term that video games got from tabletop RPGs like DnD.
Worth the watch for me just because of the tip on the one ah ability resetting your oxygen meter. great tip

100%. Honestly you can even stop picking up med packs at a certain point to save even more space
I honestly could stop picking those up now that I have my regen/melee build maxed out. Force of habit!

I love these!!! Keep them coming. Such a refreshing channel and reminds me of the channels when Skyrim came out.
thank you so much for the kind words! I love this game and definitely have more videos coming both tips and rp style vids!

I learned 'encumbrance', playing AD&D in 1979....
Hell yes. Going strong since 1979 baby. Game on jack!
THAC0 for life!
I thought this was all going to be painfully obvious, but you had some great insight. Subbed!

But be careful as they don't stack, they overwrite the previous one.
