We need more fun electric cars like this one. I took our new Mini SE today on a curvy road. The low center of gravity makes it so much fun to drive. We need more small, sporty cars, Coupes are also missing.
one of the two silhouette's that Kia teased last year that still need to be revealed (the other two where the EV3 and 9) was a gt/sports coupe style car which I assume will be the Stinger EV
Unfortunately, when the tires are inflated, some humidity is often pumped into them. This moisture then settles in the foam on one side after a while and especially in cold temperatures, which then causes the imbalance in the wheels. As soon as the wheels warm up over longer distances, the imbalance disappears a little.
Bjorn, you innocent sweet summer child. It’s a roadster - passengers head should be on drivers lap.. 😅 While she’s there - she can reach and put some navigation data 😂😂😂
The problem with acoustic foam is that the foam can suck moisture. If the foam is not dry when mountig the tyre the moisture is stuck inside the wheel. If the car is parked all moisture flows to the bottom. This can cause the imbalance.
I took one of these out a month ago when my car was in for a service. Thry have come along way from the mg3 i was given for a loaner about 4 years ago. I think this is a good gt car more than a spirts car. It feels a bit heavy i thiught to ne a sports car. Also a bit to comfy. The doors are good, but a bit embarrassing if you're in your 40s. My 16 daughter loved it. Also i think they are a bit to iver engineered and waiting to brake, also they must be adding weigth and price to the botton line. It would of been fine to have normal doors. Especally as i can see middle age people being attracted to this, old jag xj owners, i can see buying this, and i think the doors would bit them off. Thry are great, i just think they may put off the type of person that would be attacted to it .

Decent efficiency considering how cold it was. I don't really think small differences in efficiency means very much if you mostly charge at home. A little more expensive on longer journeys, yes.
@@SirBalageG This is the kind of car you take for a spin on some backroads on a nice sunday. Not the kind of driving where maximum range is as critical as in a wagon you drive to vacation with.
@@lbgstzockt8493 agreed, we got both an SLK and an MX5, use both around our home area but like you said, on the weekend, and let's say we take them once every month further away for a medium trip and once per season. If you see the right hand drive version the navigation is in the center on left hand screen, for some reason they did not fix the lhd car, MG being a bit lazy there
I open the door of my SLK against carpet that I've put on the wall in my garage. I thought the Cyberster had sensors to stop it hitting things when the door opens? It may not work for me. In the UK the charge port on the right side is the right side!
The door hitting on the charger is showing you why the left side is the wrong site, but the right side is the right side. Yes, you have to go around the car, but you are less likely to smash your door into whatever you're plugging in to.
I highly doubt that the foam inside the tire is delaminating. I have tried to peel it off before as an experiment and it is extremely difficult to remove. the foam will rip well before it separates from the tire rubber. I have found that many many new tires are just not as round as you would hope. This is what causes vibrations on the motorway even if the tire is perfectly balanced.
I have the same issue with R5 EV. On my iX they are perfect(21” 255) so I ordered 21” 255/275 for my LC500 and they are not as balanced ! They are much lower profile than the ones on the iX so maybe they are more prone to flat-spot !?

Batt temp max low is 33. Batt temp max high is 41. But Average is 22, below the lowest temp. Unbelievable. Chinese MG are definitely cursed with temperature computing...
18:01 Honestly is that really reading correctly? Because that seems very wrong, I can't see why a major manufacturer would let the battery be discharged that deep on purpose?
I summise all manufacturers never ever take in user experience. Famously Henry Ford's quote about black cars. Certain modern day ceos stubbornness with no buttons or indicator stalks. They don't give a fcuk their intent is to impose their ideals on the end user.
Yeah, if it's a button that makes the charging stop, it should be "stop charging" or "end charging". If it's just a message when it's done charging, it should be "finished charging". English is hard 😊
Hmmm... the door issue seem to indicate that the charge port on the left side might be the wrong side after all. All the chargers near me have bollards and to have the cables reach a driver's side charge port, you have to get the driver's side to the charger as close as possible. Then, you'd have very little room to open the car door to get out, and plug in. Luckily, I have a charge port on the correct (passenger's side), and I can back into the charger and get out my door without worrying about hitting the bollards.
@aardvarkmindshank they are cool on a Lambo. But remember when people but scissor doors on Toyota Celica's and stuff? That was cringe. Imo the MG isn't nearly exotic enough to have these doors. You can disagree of course.
Ah yes, a 2.1 tonne, 2 seater "sports car", with a 77kwh battery that has worse performance and range (and practicality) than a Tesla Model 3... and with a steer-by-wire system that I wouldn't want to touch with a stick several meters away from it! So the wait continues for a 2 seater sports EV that has close enough performance and efficiency as a Tesla Model 3!...
If you can charge at home, then you'll spend much less time waiting on charging then waiting at the petrol station. Life is too short to visit petrol stations.
