I’m not an artist but i always love how you give the best advice and support to any artists trying to make a living. It can be competitive out there i bet and u giving support to what can be potential competitors i find so real of you🙏❤️
Awe thank you 😊 yeah, I don’t really see other artists as competitors. I think there are so many people out there wanting to purchase art that there’s space in the market for all of us. I just like being able to lift up other artists by sharing what I’ve learned. Plus, I love to support artistic creativity.
Holy Moses!! That is some shady stuff at the gallery where your mom knew the people. I am so sorry that happened to you - it’s stuff like that that really makes me hope karma is real! Thank you for sharing your experiences to promote awareness.
Thanks you for sharing this valuable information. I'm just starting my professional career as an artist and I was a bit hessitant to work with galleries. I'm lucky to be able to get into one one the best galleries in my town and I think it's a nescassary step, as it's an essential part of making a name for yourself. This is true for the country where you live ofcourse, as social media is the best tool if you want to get international exposure (wich is an whole other topic in itself). Also, I think showing your work at galleries is a good way to be able to create your brand and therefore up your prices. A gallery will determine how much you can ask for your work, as they set a certain standard in the quality of work they're showing. In other words, you can "lean" on the name of the gallery when you work is showing there.
Hello Krystle. I am so glad your video pop up in my TH-cam panel. I am a local artist in Overland Park KS. I think I saw you last year at Irish Fest. I remember your beautiful animal paintings. I am vending at Irish Fest this time again; it's coming soon Aug 30,31 and Sep 1st. Will you be there? I hope I can meet you in person. Thank you for your videos. I subscribed to your channel and enjoyed listening to you. :)
I’ve never done Irish fest, but I usually show at Santacaligon which is the same weekend I think. I won’t be there this year, but definitely doing some shows in Kansas City again at some point 🎨
Showing for "exposure" is one of the biggest cons grifters use to make money off of artists without having to share the profits. One doesn't see accountants or lawyers being asked to work for "exposure." The other big con is gallerists who won't sign contracts, but expect to receive thousands of dollars worth of artwork based on only a handshake. As if they'd hand their own automobile to a stranger based on only a handshake! And, of course, rip-offs abound here, too. People can lose all sense of proportion and fairness when it comes to money. It's artist beware out there.
KRYSTAL. Im an artist from the east coast/ Why did you stay in the midwest after all that Skinner case nonsense. Just saying I cant imagine trying to be a working artist there. is that where you were born? New York and california eagerly wait for you to show up to your artistic destiny. Hard to comprehend why nobody hooked you up considering how well known you are. Youre working in a dark corner an empty hallway a nowhere zone. sorry Kansas, nice try but no cigar

This is such a shocking story yet I'm not surprised
Hopefully calling them out will lead to some compensation! Good luck
Doubtful, it was years ago and new people are running it I think. They didn’t seem to care much…
@@KrystleColeArt That's really sad. Time, energy and supplies gone... Maybe there's some small solace in someone getting joy from your art!
