    Please help me understand one thing. To start with, on what basis, did you consider the angles in the triangle to be 45 degrees each? It can be any combination - 60 and 30, 40 and 50, and so on. Note: I am not a student of mathematics. I could have erred in my thinking.

      i think it was stated somewhere that it was isosceles, so the 2 sides connected to the 90 degrees are equall meaning that the angle also has to be equal. tho this was not writen in the vid, the thumbnail had it written under the triangle

      Hello, as they said in the comments, it is because the triangle is isosceles, if one of its angles is 90 the other two have to be half each. It is not written in the exercise but it is established in the thumbnail and it is also told in the video. What did you think of the exercise?
