    The accents sound more Irish than Canadian. It's the same thinking that everyone from America sounds like a hick from Texas but couldn't be further from the truth. I find people from Toronto sound more American than Americans...:) Hence, much of the news anchors in the US are actually Canadian as they have a "neutral" accent.

  • @dianalee__
    @dianalee__ 8 ปีที่แล้ว +77

    wow the stereotypical Canadian accent is real. I'm from Toronto and probably majority of the city doesn't talk with that accent or says "about" or "sorry" that way either because the city has so many different cultural backgrounds and ethnicity therefore, we speak and have a little bit of an accent associated with the culture we grew up with. I would say those accents are probably found in New Found Land and Lab but not Toronto.

      Come on now, friend. Imagine then how us former Eastern bloc Europeans should feel when we get collectively stereotyped as vodka-guzzling communists named Vladimir or Boris, even though we have nothing to do with Russia, neither culturally nor geographically.
      It's an exaggerated joke, that's all :-D

    If Bobby ever comes to Scotland, he better bring his running shoes. I will chase him down, wrap him in a blanket and feed him chicken soup! He's as cute as a button! Actually, sod the soup - I'll break out the handcuffs, whipped cream and a funnel ;0)

    People from Toronto don't speak like that. That is a stereotypical East Coast (Newfoundland) accent.

    As a Canadian who's met Canadians from every province I have to say I have never heard any Canadian stereotype accent EVER. So, if you're going to butcher the Canadian accent, which is hilarious to do, please atleast say aboot (I see that he said it the second time). Thanks. And Doug Ford for Premier of Ontario!!!

  • @GlamRacket

    The appearance of Rob Ford was done well here but the accent of both him and the newscaster was way off. (not the fault of the actors). The fact is, many southern Canadians, especially people from Toronto, do not speak like that at all. That accent is more profound in Atlantic Canada and more north. That being said, on a sketch tv show, Americans need to emphasize the fact that it is a CANADIAN newscast and do so with the accent, albeit politically incorrect and false.
