Needed this video, I'm currently struggling between picking this vs the A7SIII, I like the menu system + LUTs of the ZV-E1 way more, but definitely, the a7siii is more of a hybrid camera. Was wondering, would Electronic shutter be fine if you dont intend on taking pictures of things that move?
To be honest, the ZV-E1 has done everything I’ve needed it to and more. It’s my favorite camera to date. Even with hybrid shooting. I’ve used an A7siii as well and still the ZV-E1 is my go to. I haven’t noticed anything crazy in regards to that but I don’t think it would be a problem at all! I even do take pictures of moving things on occasion as well. The biggest thing I’d say is learning your camera settings and exposure triangle
Thanks for the vid 👍 Got any other videos where you show ZV-E1 Photography? There aren't many on youtube. Obviously most people buy a ZV-E1 for video but I guess if it can take some decent photos on the side that's cool. 12 mp sounds enough for doing some photography on the side, but obviously someone going all-in on photography would be a bit limited I guess
Absolutely! But even if you do print if you have the right settings and or use adobe to add pixels (there’s an AI software that’s great) you won’t even run into problems there.
@@RCGJR_ honestly I’m a hybrid shooter and I absolutely love it. Sony makes good cameras in general but what really sold me was the built in mic and the fact that I can pick it up and create without things holding me back to capture quick candid moments (my daughter growing up)
im sorry to hear that! look into lens profile corrections in Lightroom/ Lightroom classic. that's been a big help for me. That and just having little edits or tweaks that I do to help.
Gr8 Stuff - The one big drawback is the lack of an EVF so this video is really needed to show how you rock the LCD for stills. In away it is more casual like taking cell phone pics of people instead of putting your eye to the evf.
You’re right about that, but to be honest I thought I’d miss the EVF more than I did. I wasn’t really rocking it too much to begin with. Usually the people that use it are taking photos from similar perspectives. I’m sure you could get a third party or aftermarket option if that’s your jam but the articulating screen gives me what I need for the most part personally. Only thing I would say, I wish they invested more into the screen to make it more souped up. For the price point though and use of function… I get it
@@notyouraveragegijoe I think the EVF for me comes in to play with like it a powerful telephoto or zoom lens when you’re looking at something small in the distance but overall, I’m glad to hear that you didn’t miss the EVF. Like when I take a picture with my cell phone I am never wishing I had an EVF LOL.
When editing did you notice any problems with the pixels? I'm doing Everst Base Camp trek next year, and I'm in between this camera and the Sony a7c mark II. I want something compact that can do video and photography well. Mind sharing your thoughts?
Honestly I was pleasantly surprised. It was amazing quality actually. I’d lean towards this myself but I’m a little biased. Also, if you are worried about pixels there is an option through adobe to add pixels with AI and that’s been pretty solid for some photographers I know that print their photos. I think either way you’re going to have a good time and it comes down to the glass you’ll use. If you do get the ZV-E1 make sure to check out the link in the bio👀 if you wanna help support the channel!
Oh ! so the loud one is also of this camera enhanced, very nice shutter sound for vlog camera! I'm a photographer trying to get into vids since I got couple kids now. Much appreciated.
hey Thanks for the cool video, i've got a question, i am a profesionnal photographer and videographer so this is how i earn money, and there a lots of events like weddings etc where i will be shooting indoor, will there be some banding appearing on the image if the lights are not in sync with the electronic shutter, because i have this issue with the A7 iv and i often have to switch back to mechanical shutter but as i understand the zv e1 only have electronic shutter
Worst case scenario in my experience you adjust your shutter speed and can optionally use a plug in called flicker free (which I use if there was some flicker I didn't catch on some footage that I want to use) so far this has not been a problem for me personally. Hope this helps, cheers!
Yes, being a New Yorker I found the lack of pedestrians on what looks like Main Street rather disquieting. I thought maybe you were out early on weekend morning but two in the afternoon ... love the picture edits.
Great photos! Love my ZV-E1. I have an a7iii and D610 for photos but I really like the colors coming out of the ZV-E1.
Thank you so much! I agree! I was worried at first about jt but I am so glad I made the purchase honestly speaking!
Agree with you. I have A7R5 and ZV-E10 and ZV-e1, taking RAW but still love E1 color the most❤ no idea why
I would love to know how you edit your pictures. I love how they turned out!

Doesn't the A7S3 have the same 12mp sensor as the ZV-E1?

In reality if you’re not planning in cropping, printing large and just posting on social media, 12mp is more than enough!

@@notyouraveragegijoe yesss, so all in all this camera can be used as a “hybrid” even though it’s not labeled as a hybrid by sony. Awesome camera!!

I purchased the ZV-E1 with a Tamron 2.8 28-75mm but I'm disappointed about the quality of the photos. I hope I can find how to improve it...

Thanks man! I really appreciate that😁 it’s cool to incorporate filmmaking into what I enjoy doing🙏🏼
have you tried shooting fast moving objects like cars and motorcycles ?
Yes! There was some photos of a motorcycle in the middle of the video. Getting started though I’m definitely going to do more of that!

Is that actual shutter sound of this camera?
If you listen close you can hear it, but the loud ones were added in post to highlight the photos when I took them

how do you edit your photos? :)
