My god that sound is so juicy and fat, love listening to this bass 😁
I'm still on a very wide fence. Do I buy this one, the Schechter Stealth 4, Yamaha 434, or TWO Harley Benton? I already have a Fender P. Decisions, decisions. LOL This bass sounds great. It's great to see a review from someone who knows what he's talking about.
I'd buy a classic vibe any day over a Harley Benton. ick. I own both the 50's classic vibe P and the 70's jazz shown here, love them both.
I recently just shelled out for a G&L L2000 tribute and man, blown away.
Deputy Dang I am very happy with my HB -it’s hard to beat for the money. But, yeah I’d have a room full of basses if I could.
@@2Timone7 Yeah, have heard some good and some bad about them but that's always going to be the way it is at the price point. Regardless, glad to hear you like it!
There were stray notes ringing out when slapping The bass.
Great review. I have one (5 string)and like it more than some more expensive basses I have had. Planning to get the 4 string this month when it comes in.
This bass is one of the 12 I own (and the cheapest) ! i think your test and comment are absolutely relevant ! thanks bro
A Fender Players Series is 300 dollars more after trying both just ask yourself is it worth it
Sorry, I'm a newbie, but what's the difference between this and Squier Vintage Modified Jazz in terms of sound and playability? Which you think it's better?
So much of that is subjective to different players, Give us a call at the shop 412-343-5299 and we'll be more than happy to help you out
@@EmpireMusicPgh I'm from Portugal, but thanks for the help! I bought CV, alcino pickups and maple body!
@@EmpireMusicPgh So I bought this CV 70s bass and I noticed that the E string has a buzz that comes through the amp and also a noise coming when the tone is high. That seems to occur in your video. Should I be worried? Is it solvable?
It probably just needs a mild setup. You can take it to a luthier or a instrument store and get a setup done which should help with the feet buzz.
@@sportcompactdc5 Thank you! I'll take it to the store where I bought it then :)
Cheapest good sounding 70's J Bass
I have Fender JB75 Japan reissue and it has 60's pickup spacing. Too bad they didn't nail it the right way. This Squier sounds more 70's than my Japanese Fender reissue.
Those bass actually have a poplar body.
Hi George, here are the specifications from Fender.com: shop.fender.com/en-US/electric-basses/precision-bass/vintera-50s-precision-bass/0149612354.html?rl=en_BE
Fender is clear in the body materials. Thanks!
@@EmpireMusicPgh Fender states there the body is poplar on that bass.
Wow😍
which is better? Sire V5 or Squier Classic Vibe?
60s or 70s for you?
They are different. The 70's has a great punch and a little more midrange bite. The 60's has a bit more warmth to my ears/hands. So it would depend on the music for me. Thanks for watching, call me at the shop 412-343-5299 if you need anything - Anthony
@@EmpireMusicPgh what would you recommend for worship?
@@viloriaramosprofesional3129 Again...It's going to depend on style and what you want to hear under the music. My first instinct would be 70's though.
@@EmpireMusicPgh compaired allot, there hardly any good reviews of the 70's bas besides yours. with the vintage modified it was a different story. i have to say you seemed to have a better "bass day" with the 60's presentation but i go for this one now.
Fret buzz is weird on all channels when reviews are done.
When did fender released this 70's vibe jazz bass into the market....?
Squier made a Classic Vibe 70's Jazz Bass? I was under the impression that these were Vintage Modified.
The Classic Vibe Jazz is modeled after the 60's version.
I've owned Fender Precisons, Guild Pilots, and a few others but I'll tell ya Squire Jazz 70's basses are the shit! Man I don't discriminate against it being a Squire because its all in the bass players playing is what will make this bass shine. Overall tone and sound is balls to the wall when being slapped and overall jamming out hard on it. Prominent and dominant bass right here for sure. The only modification I did on mine is that I added an Omega Bass Bridge which is equivalent to the Leo Quan Badass bridge. Stock pickups remain in the bass. I play through a sans amp bass driver pedal, and a boss compressor pedal and this thing rocks. I'll put it up against a Fender Jazz any day and will see no difference but thats just me. I play all different types of music Funk, disco, rock, just music that screams for the sound of a phat ass Squire Jazz pounding along.
