RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15 gave us one of the most well-crafted, dramatic, and entertaining storylines we've seen on Drag Race in recent years. The iconic queen herself, Loosey LaDuca, gave us some of the best, most memorable, and fun moments of the entire season, so in this video, we're going to break the story of Loosey on Drag Race down.
We'll dive into everything the edit was trying to tell us, the audience perception, Loosey's perception, and at the end of the video, we'll determine what archetype Loosey's edit falls into. Is it a delusional edit? A villain edit? We'll get into all of it!

The most fascinating thing about her edit was that I felt like I was experiencing all viewpoints at once. I was rooting for her, I was living for the drama, but I also empathized with her. Idk, let loose !

Loosey had one of the most interesting journeys I think we've ever seen in RPDR. You root for her, you root against her, you laugh at her, you feel like she did worse than she thinks, but you swear she was robbed and gaslit. Is she a hero or a villain? Neither, she's just Loosey!

She had a problem with understanding social cues and it was hard for her to "get loose" and feel comfortable
Ya know, with the backstabbing Salina and counting her mini-challenge wins, she really *_would_* have made the perfect delusional villain. She really only became the fandom heroine thanks to Urkel and Jabba the Hutt ganging up on her.
They did Loosey dirty but she handled it with class in the reunion.
I think the thing for me is, MIB and Luxx's shade throwing and fake nice tone started to remind me of how people talked to me when I was bullied. You could tell Loosey wasn't having fun with it, and that's the thin line between shade and bullying. But I think Loosey also realized that a lot of people are living for MIB bringing that shady fun back to drag race- which I was living for until production made it the Vs. Loosey show- and knew that if she doubled down at that reunion, she'd get Daya Betty'd. There was a choice in taking grace or potentially letting the fans devour her for being sensitive. There was a moment in the makeover untucked, when Loosey went 'You don't fuck with me? K.' to MIB and MIB instantly backed down when she saw it didn't get to her. At the end of the day, it was all a super entertaining season with the real villains being those WeHo gays.

i feel so bad for loosey. she got eliminated on a challenge she did fantastic in!!!!!
As someone who was bullied as a kid and gaslit about it for years by everyone around me (some of those people even admitted to it later on) I felt for loosey. People for real prodded her and attacked her and then acted like they werent. Thats what makes you perceive everything as an attack. If jokes and attacks are blurred together constantly how is it loosey's fault for not being able to tell the difference?
Idk why but the let loose meme has a really special place in my heart. I'll sing it to my cat at least once a day and it just instantly makes me smile whenever I think about it.

Neither Mistress nor Luxx weren't poking her as much as production. Her perception of her run was not delusional in a slightest. She was hands down the best in the interview challenge and had no business being nowhere near the bottom during her two last episodes. That "crumbling of the storylines" was so heavily constructed and aiming for Jane style breakdown, it was uncomfortable to watch.
I really hope she'll come back to slay the allstars because she was slaying this season already but production seemed not to be interested in it this time around.

I think Loosey was one of the few queens who treated it like drag race, the other where happy being at Sasha’s Meet and greet.

I can empathize with Loosey when she took things personal. When you were bullied, never loved and attacked in the past, you just put some walls and an armor. You get defensive, easily get hurt, you become a perfectionist you become so proud on your work that simple criticism becomes personal. Because you have put in all that work to be loved and appreciated and you feel like putting all that work and emotional labor is gonna make people love you, but thats not how the world works. You can be a ray of sunshine and people will hate light. I feel Loosey, i feel for her inner child and I wish her some healing growth and self love.

She should have been in the top. Nothing wrong with showing confidence and believing in yourself, even though this video frames Loosey as not confident. The edits were horrid. I'll take Loosey over any of the queens this season.

@@wastingsun It's the way she brought it up and kept bringing it up, its one thing to say you wish you were in the top because youre proud of your performance, but the way she did it was whiney, kept talking about it when the other girls werent feeding into it, and brought it up a second time. Like Luxx also mentioned she felt she shouldve been in the top for her crystal look but didnt make a big deal of it like Loosey did. So while the edit def made it more dramatic, the edit only enhances what was Already there

I thought Loosey had one of, if not the best performance in the Rusical. She practically carried it. It's unbelievable to me that she placed in the bottom in that challenge
I agree I don’t think Lucy won the challenge cause it’s true she got kind of lost in the background by the last half of the show, not really her fault though as the main character doesn’t have much to do by that point in the show but everyone did so well. I would have put Luxx and Salina in the bottom honestly even though they did well they just didn’t stand out as much as Mistress, Sasha, Lucy or Anetra. But again they had the smaller roles.
@@Starbust123 tbh I have a hard time seeing her getting lost as her fault simply because I was watching the last couple of numbers genuinely puzzled as to why the protagonist was so far off to the side in the lineup. Like, they were choreographed? Presumably that included their placements across the stage? I'm not sure what Loosey was supposed to do if she was directed to stand off to the side and stay there?
And after a certain point it felt a bit odd that Sasha just remained front and centre for basically two numbers, as though the choreographers couldn't be arsed to move any of em about after that point. I felt like the final number got genuinely kind of boring, because they could have used it to give each character their own last little moment, or something, but they just... left everyone where they were, in formation.
It's also not an improv challenge. It's not like she could just jump center stage and improv a new solo.
Moreover it's so stupid for the judges to personally lose interest in one person and then punish that person for their own adhd. They just pull BS excuses to trash good performers while rewarding people like Mistress who cannot dance or even wear actual heels, and are only on the show for drama.
I feel really bad for Loosey. Production really had it in their minds to give her the worst possible delusional edit and break her psyche like they did with Jan. The thing is, yes talked a big game, but she actually had the talent to back it up. She's a very well-rounded queen and she deserved so much better.
She literally is one of the break out stars of the season ironically. But also rightfully so! She’s very polished. And Very Talented!
Loosey was my favorite queen this season. She is so talented and got an awful edit and was treated awful by the other girls. I hate how wanting to do well or thinking you did well is viewed negatively. She should have won the interview challenge, the rusical and potentially the makeover. She should have made Top 4. One of the biggest robberies of all time!
I might be alone in this, but I kinda agreed with Loosey quite often. There were a lot of challenges where I thought she did really well and would at least get a top placement and maybe even a win and I would be surprised whenever she didn't. Might just be me though. I really loved her on this season and really hope she'll be back for All Stars

11:34 It's not true that Lucy is defensive about the slightest negative comment. We don't see her being defensive about constructive criticism. We only see her react badly to negative remarks about her person, which is completely valid. It's scary to think some people think people are not allowed to have boundaries when it comes to emotional abuse.
the ‘mean girls’ saw that Loosey reacted poorly to their shade/reads and took advantage of that to tear her down. mib mentioned a lot that ‘drag queens mess with each other and read each other for fun’ but Loosey clearly wasn’t having fun with it and they continued to treat her like that :/ thats when it turns to bullying imo
I was gonna say the same. Loosey doesn’t get defensive at constructive criticism like queens in past seasons have. She gets defensive when being attacked whether it’s joking or not, and I think that’s fair to her.
I don't understand why anyone defends MIB because she said time and again that she was trying to get under Loosey's skin, she wanted Loosey to have an emotional breakdown. Time and again, with a smile on her face like that's normal behavior. She and Luxx bullied Loosey until they got what they wanted when she got eliminated despite outperforming everyone in the rusical.
@@countesscrows Except for she doesn't react poorly, she has a normal human reaction to harassment. It doesn't matter that other drag queens feel like it's okay for them to be treated this way. Not everyone works the same way and that's not an excuse to destroy their mental health.
This "this is normal" reasoning is the same reasoning people used to outcast LGBTs out of society. I didn't think this would be so hard for a queer fandom to understand.
And even when Loosey doesn't "react badly" the edit gives us Mistress' confessional that Loosey is "holding back a tantrum"; again and again that same narrative is pushed that if Loosey reacts, she's defensive and crazy, and if she doesn't, she's fake and a liar.
Given how Mistress and Luxx refuse to take any accountability, and how they dismiss any criticism they got as fat-phobia and racism, I can't blame fans for falling for their excuses, if they have experienced those issues themselves. It's a little sad that the Drag Detective doesn't call out the manipulative behavior, but I understand why he might identify with Mistress at least.
i don’t wanna sound crazy but what if they tried to give her an all stars rudemption arc. bc if loosey will come back they have a really good story set up for her and i think she has the it factor to pull of an all stars win.
Idk if it’s a one day all stars win but it did set her up to come back. Jan, they screwed over when they came back but I think they’ll bring Loosey back and do better. Very good look on the chaotic edit
@@tryingtobesocial906 to me Jan was not screwed over she shouldn’t have come back that soon they were giving her the same notes they gave her on her season and she still hadn’t learned and with loosey idk if I’d even want to come back its like y’all made me look crazy and I think some of her placements were not correct and she was put in low placements just to piss her off so she’d break but maybe in a few seasons

Hopefully Loosey will be smart enough but only by ONE season bc by the time they're on AS10 lord knows how many more queens will have come and gone by then. Relevance is also key. 👌🏿
I think they either do her like Jan, like Valentina, or like Ra'Jah. I think she's either gonna be hated and get chopped, entirely in her own world, or embrace her flaws and fix them and win.

I liked Loosey for the most part, but I realized that the way she painted her top lip made her always look upset. Once I realized that, I couldn't unsee it. It didn't help bc it always gave a good "reaction", whether Loosey meant it or not.
Agreed, she always has a sour/disgusted expression BECAUSE of her lipstick. And it probably is affecting how people around her see her because she might have a neutral expression, and yet her makeup makes her look in a bad mood.

Here's my view, they were clearly setting up Mistress as a villain this season but due to the other past queens coming to her defence and her calling out racism of the fandom whether it applied in her case or not I believe production took a different approach and made Loosey a mix of a villain and a victim. I was honestly a little confused by Looseys edit and felt really bad for her at times.
filling the villain role with a overbearing edit on a white queen is so annoying. it's so artificial & they did it with daya betty last season. instead of tip toeing around it they need to address their viewers because the real reason they don't want real villains anymore is because of audience harassment. and when the villain happens to be one of the only non-white queens on the cast, they get death threats nonstop. you'd think production would address it after what they did to the vixen but we're still here. just remember the vixen was right

The episodes & eliminations were already filmed when past queens saw it, so production couldn't change anything based on opinions except top 2 placement in the finale.
My theory is production thought Mistress would be fan favorite, and so edited her to be the narrator of the season and edited Loosey to appear delusional.
I think she acted very appropriately during the reunion. Not everything has to be about drama. . I think she gave enough and came out looking a lot better than some of the other queens
I love the “generic” comment because it’s like, what? Luxx is so original? A skinny fashion queen. Groundbreaking.
Also, she copied almost literally one look of Naomi Smalls. 😒

Loosey is a great example of how taking all of your losses to heart will destroy you.
Loosey’s pretty much the most interesting character from the season. She’s Top3 most impactful from the season.
So I’m autistic and man I related to Loosey’s edit. Like, I’m not gonna go as far as to say that she is autistic, but the storyline presented to us for her was relatable to me. Like how stories can read as queer because they cover themes pertinent to queer viewers, that kinda thing. She read to me like she was trying really hard to act like how she “should” on drag race. Like when she wouldn’t admit to wanting the biggest role, I saw that as her doing what she thought was the best strategy but not being able to read the social atmosphere. Like she was playing a part that she thought that she had to play. It also read with her relationship with Mistress, like she couldn’t quite grasp the games that Mistress was playing. I know that I would struggle with Mistress for that reason, I can’t keep up with her! Also Loosey’s sensitivity to rejection, both from her peers and the judges, read as a very neurodivergent experience. Even the stories of not being understood at home and feeling like an outsider! Yes, a very relatable queer experience, but also a neurodivergent one.
Again, this isn’t me claiming that she is autistic, but her story resonated with that part of me. I think it’s notable because I don’t experience it that often on drag race; maybe the only time I can think of is Miz Cracker’s edits, especially AS5. Her weird tension with Blair? Her strangely phrased comments to Ongina and Alexis? That felt very autistic to me and I was sad to learn the backstage stuff about it tbh. Basically I just wanted to share a different lens on Loosey’s edit!
Also I remember when she was leaving and they chose her very Jan-like dialogue… gurl… the producers couldn’t let her have a sincere moment 😂 they knew exactly what they were doing
i'm also autistic & i see what you're saying - idk if she's autistic or not but i definitely grew to empathise with her a lot throughout the season, especially seeming to not know how to respond to queens like Mistress & Luxx (i love both of them as a viewer but could see myself misunderstanding them in person 😅)
i also feel like you could read her saying Salina's name on a the main stage as who deserved to go home bc of track record (despite being shown to open up to her) as an autistic choice prioritising the data/fairness of thr competition over friendship (not in a malicious way, just bc it's the logical choice - i do understand why Salina was upset though)
also, i have ADHD in addition to being autistic & for me that has a lot to do with my rejection sensitivity/being overly defensive at times (not to say this can't also apply to being autistic or other neurodivergences, just my experience & how i related to Loosey on the season)
Totally agree as an autistic person. Another lens to look though is trauma and the way that affects social interaction as well. Loosey said herself she had a very traumatic experience and that probaly affects how she interacts and understands people
i never considered how mistress came off to somebody with autism. it definitely makes sense because the way she navigates is so heavily based on "i can say this because i do it out of love" & "i'm not being entirely serious" which confuses me in my real-life relationships sometimes. everything out of mistresses' mouth i kind of had to take a second to realize what she said isn't with bad intentions

I kinda felt for her, she responded to one of my DM’s after Snatch Games and seemed like a genuinely nice person. I think she’s also still exploring her drag, like with her darker looks. I always appreciated her references, and she definitely made the season interesting! Hope I see her in a city near me soon!!❤
I cannot ever deny that Loosey is an absolute icon! She pissed me off a lot during the season, but the absolute delusion of saying she was at the same level as Sasha for having 3 mini challenge wins?! Honestly Werk! She made amazing television and Let Loose is becoming the anthem of the year so props to you Loosey, you’re truly one of a kind
And to be honest two of Sasha’s wins could’ve gone to Loosey had Loosey had a better Beyoncé runway she would’ve won the challenge even Sasha was surprised she won
"Let Loose!" is a cultural reset and needs to be featured in a Pepsi commercial.
Honestly not sure how people think she was delusional because half the time she just said something and everyone in the room misinterpreted her, it was disappointing to see.
I think it’s because every time she talked, we got a cut of the other queens rolling their eyes or sighing, so even if she says something neutral like “fire burns”, as audience the reactions subliminally read to us as “fire doesn’t burn” + Loosey is exaggerating/lying
@@almazsubliminals exactly. And I noticed the close ups so we can't even be sure what those queens were reacting to, production just wants us to think it was all directed at Loosey, everyone was sick and tired of Loosey, but actually half the cast has defended her and said she got an extreme edit.
I unironically enjoy Let Loose and there's no chance it's not popping up on my Spotify Wrapped for 2023. I enjoy her as a queen as well, she's talented and entertaining.

Loosey is in my top 10 favorite queens of all time, I loved every single thing she did this season, she is a FIERCE queen. I can not wait to see what she does next!

Regarding her talent show with Let Loose, I have a partial theory with it. As has been shown before, they usually do two takes of the talent show numbers, unless they're ones you can't do twice. And sometimes, to determine the Top and Bottom placements, they'll choose the better or worse takes of the two (see LEMON's talent show on UK Vs. The World for an example, where they apparently used her weaker take to justify her bottom placement). Part of me wonders with Loosey, if they deliberately used her worse (maybe second) take, which may have been more out of breath or strained after she might've gone in hard on her first take, to justify her being low for that episode.
It also really sounded like they didn't give her a proper ear monitor so she couldn't hear herself. Live singing in a situation like that without a monitor, it can be SO HARD to tell if you sound okay
it could be but we probably woulda heard her or other contestants say something about it. Her first take coulda been the best one compared to the other or they just mashed both takes together and thats what we saw.

I was waiting the entire video to hear you talk about the gaslighting of Loosey. I don’t think she was delusional at all. Production screwed with her, and the cast saw it and jumped on the band wagon.
I'll say, Loosey was one of my favorites going into the season. She seemed like a fun contender for the title, and someone I'd love to meet. As the season went on, I was surprised to see her get a sort of villain edit. She was very much the Daya Betty of the season for me, or at least a cross between Daya and JAN (in terms of their edits anyway). And it seemed like Luxx was supposed to be the hero to Loosey's villain. I sorta feel bad for the backlash Loosey got, because you can tell she's a talented DA who just may not do well in a competitive setting. I really wish her the best with things moving forward.
I actually liked daya betty on her season but didn’t like loosey laduca.
Interestingly, I think Luxx ended up being the villain-ish in the end, along with Mistress. At first the criticism felt warranted and you're laughing at Loosey, but then it starts to feel like kicking someone while they're down and it's hard to watch. Then Luxx starts looking like the delusional one, thinking she's definitely gonna win when she's clearly not the producers' favorite. It's like the ghost of Loosey possessed her the last few episodes going into the finale lol But, much like Loosey, she's also genuinely talented and getting wins... sooooo...
Very interesting edits this season, it's been a rollercoaster with these girls. No one deserves any backlash though, I don't think they really did anything "wrong".

Loosey reminds me of that episode of Jessie where the Ross family had a reality TV show where everything they said and did was edited to make them look catty and constantly fighting with each other, and it got to the point where every time they left the house their fans would stalk and provoke them to freak out in the same way they saw from TV. Loosey has an intense competitiveness that is really easy for her fellow queens to irritate and for the editors to have a field day with, and it’s a completely human reaction to not feel good about being edited weirdly. However, I feel like now Loosey is just digging a deeper and deeper hole for herself for being super defensive on Twitter like “You think I’m not chill??? I’ll have you know I’m the most laid-back person you’ll ever meet!!!” That episode of Jessie was the first time young preteen me ever realized just how much editing can skew events, how powerfully it can influence opinions, and how painful it is for the subjects of the editing, and everyone needs to realize that.

I have a few points I wanted to share as I watched along:
• I don't agree that saying "Loosey's drag is generic" is the same as saying "not unique." Generic kinda has a connotation of being both seen and done before, and also cheap or lackluster (think, name-brand vs generic). It's more than JUST saying "it's not the most unique."
• I do think Loosey VERY much was feeling herself and how she did a LOT. It was definitely giving delusion at times, BUT there were a few times it was VERY clear production dictated the tops/bottoms, and it had nothing to do with the actual challenges; Loosey was actually one of the BEST in the makeover challenge. 100% the reason she was in the bottom was narrative and not performance-based. She lost the lipsync ofc, but she was very valid in her feeling she didn't belong in the Bottom 2- I'll elaborate if anyone wants to know why; secondly, Loosey was GREAT in the Rusical. Was she *the* best? NO, but she definitely was more memorable than Luxx, Mistress, or Salina. Did she have the worst runway? SURE, I could see that, but also-- Anetra was literally wearing a body suit with laser gloves, and Luxx wore some (CUTE), Hot Topic-off the rack pants and a used, bob wig. Salina also had one of the best looks, but was somehow made to seem like it was ugly (like her others) to justify her Bottom 2 placement bc production was done with her. There are TONS of other examples (like Jax being bottom two out of NOWHERE in the Golden Girl Group challenge, Aura winning that challenge, Marcia being in the bottom 2 over Mistress in the comedy challenge [unless it was for the runway], etc.)
• Loosey was CLEARLY very sensitive and (sometimes, confusingly) over-confident, but I feel like we ALL know that despite what Ru's music tells us, the edit *IS VERY MUCH* responsible for the overall arc of the competition. Drag Race is not a legitimate competition- we (should) all know by now. It's unfair to let production STILL tell us Queens are delusional when they remind us of that fact.

i hate the comments abt luxx's pants being off the rack & the bob being used. they're clearly custom pants & luxx has said the wig is a custom wig with w a customized hairline & that mistress knew where to get hair. the context of it being used on a dc puppet vs a punk runway should matter too. judges are gonna pull inconsistent shit out of their ass but that doesn't mean you have to believe it. she could've gone bigger, so can anetra, but nobody really comes close to how low loosey's runway was
@tee I didn't say the pants WERE off the rack-- I just said they look like something that you could find pretty easily at Hot Topic. And I stand by that- they are fuckin cute pants, but they do, 100% look like pants every little emo kid was wearing in 2005. She didn't look bad, but come on- she got extra credit for interpretation of "Gloves" as casts. Like compare what she wore to Mistress's gown, Sasha's look *made out of* gloves, or Salina's cute, Andy Warhol-esque look with HUGE gloves. The actual clothes she wore were NOT fashion-forward at all. As far as the wig goes, I wasn't implying it was cheap: I was implying that it was easy. It was a wig that required zero styling, and we had seen it before. She could have literally gotten that look together in like, 15 minutes. It just wasn't very good for a runway, even if it wasn't terrible. Salina's glove look was MILES better, but the judges acted like it was trash and that Luxx's was some incredible, out-of-this-world fashion, and that was my point about how they just say anything to make the people they want to send home look worse and Salina going home was a production/storyline stunt and not based on the challenge or runway.
The comment about Loosey confuses me because I fully admitted she had a horrible look for the Gloves week. I was saying her garment for the makeover was not worthy of bottom placement over Mistress, and that (even though it looked GREAT) Anetra won with her 6th bodysuit of the season. Lol. Again, reinforcing my point that they wanted Loosey to go home because of storyline and not because of poor performance.
Like the "Heathers" use to call them... Unpolished or Busted. Lol

She had an amazing season for television, 100%. But what really made me respect her as a performer and a person was how she responded to Luxx at the reunion. Loosey was so artoculate and understood exactly how and why she felt the way she did.
I agree, she had every right to go off on Luxx but she didn’t, she gave a sound piece of how she felt and why, it made me realize that she’s not really delusional

As a singing drag queen myself, I absolutely felt they sabotaged Loosey in the talent show. Singers rely so heavily on sound engineers and their ability to hear the balance correctly. They didn’t show her getting a sound check, but Im going to assume she did. It would be so easy to tell the engineer to purposely mess up the mix so she can’t hear herself or the music and even further edit the audio in post to prove the point that she didn’t sound great in the room.
There’s also just the fact that the drag race soundstage is not designed for singing. It’s a warehouse with walls that intentionally absorb sound. Whereas real theaters are designed to make sound resonate. If they were filming a singing show in that studio, I’d bet they’d put up acoustic paneling and such.
There’s also just that the voice as an instrument is malleable. Sometimes when I travel, my voice needs to adjust to new environmental factors like humidity, pollen, etc.
I would strongly caution against singing on the show. We saw all this happen to Jan on All Stars. It gives the producers room to mess you up.
My experience with Loosey is probably not unique at all. I was rooting for her and then got annoyed but, I was fully aware that a lot has to do with the edit. I felt for her too. There were times that I would've put her ahead of other queens in challenges. The makeover challenge for instance. It cannot come down to a freakin shoe lol. Anyway, I hope to see her slay an All-Stars season!
I love Loosey from the beginning and as a person who was also picked by mean girls i relate to her very much.
I mean everybody feels that they're unique, it's something you can't take away from someone. I get what Luxx said because her drag esthetic may not be super inspired but it's still unique to herself, we might not feel like it is because she portrays a character that feels familiar to us but that doesn't take away her uniqueness

I feel like Loosey was definitely screwed over by the other girls. Luxx and Mistress went in on her all season long especially when Luxx called Loosey’s drag “generic”, although she did give us the iconic Let Loose!
For sure. I don't think she was that delusional. I think she just needs to build her confidence up, but it's a fragile confidence that can easily be broken and push her into insecurity, panic, sadness, etc. So the others knew they could just throw her off really easily.

There is a difference between a critique and straight up antagonizing. Someone can only take it for so long. Drag Race is already stressful without the addition of other queens constantly coming for you. I know drag race is a heavily edited reality show. I would rather have a fair competition showcasing drag talent over a preference for drama and riggery.

I think the funniest part of Loosey's edit is how they first tried to give it to Marcia, then Luxx, and then they landed on Loosey after episode 7's untucked.

Immediately went to your channel after FINALLY being able to watch the new season! All I could think about when watching loosey is what your POV was. I swear you've opened my eyes to the way reality tv works. I kept wondering how much of what I was seeing was making me feel her delusion or if she truly was "delusional"
My big issue with what Lux said is simply that all of the other top 5 are also 'generic'

And lux is a copy paste of modern drag and alot of her runways have been very 'simular' to previous drag race queens aswell.
I do think Luxx is a bit of a bully to Lucy's storyline. She is just as overconfident and fully convinced everything about her drag is immaculate but she doesn't let negativity get to her as much. I think this is what makes queens like her seem more likeable bc they just live in their fantasy, don't entertain any bullshit and just don't agree with any critiques. Very Valentina, very Yara, very Trixie... But at the end of the day Luxx is just as obnoxious and delusional and not more or less of a sickening performer than Lucy! So Luxx putting down Lucy works perfectly and feeds into her insecurities which makes her act crazy, Luxx on the other side can continue with her own delusion and still comes off as likeable. To me it seems like Lucy is more focused on herself and genuinely thinks she's doing amazing and should be rewarded for it, without putting the other queens down or thinking they're shit. Seeing how sweet, funny, self-reflective and great at taking a joke Lucy is at other times it seems unfair to judge her on the way she acts when she's not being seen. It's obviously very important to her to get that recognition and so it's hard for her to be unbothered when critiqued (surely bc of her background and emotional trauma which is not great but something she can defintively work on). This is all based on what the edit showed of course. I don't think either of the queens is a hero and the other a villain but I do think they don't get the same recognition and love for both showing a lot of talent and delusion at the same time.
I don't think Luxx is likeable. She comes off as extremely entitled. For example when she did the whole "we're doing metal" thing against Malaysia. Like it's fine to say you want metal, and fight for it, but the way she said it was implying she's inherently superior to Malaysia and the other team on a personal level. It was giving "Heathers" energy.
She did say after the show that she is a narcissist, and tbh I'd believe it. And the irony is after all of her "your opinions don't bother me as y'all aren't paying my bills" energy, she goes and complains whenever anyone calls out what she did. And the biggest example is when she complains about being bullied to Trinity after Trinity did the Twitter equivalent to Luxx of what Luxx did to Loosey on the main stage (complimenting everyone but her).
She can dish it, but she can't take it.
***This is all relating to Luxx as a drag character on TV/online and not as a human being btw. I do not condone people sending hate to her. But I don't think saying I personally don't find her likeable, and why, is hate.

I saw a lot of myself in Loosey. Growing up feeling powerless and weak, I also stood up for myself in similar ways. It was probably cringe but it was my way of standing up for myself.
I think Luxx was being a bully. And I mean bully. She preyed on Loosey’s insecurities and attacked her.
I was rooting for Loosey the whole season and continue to. I really wish she got the underdog edit and made it to the finale, she would have had a strong case for the crown.
I agree. Luxx and Mistress don't want to be labeled bullies, but they are. Throwing shade implies that other person is in on the humor, but they knew it was genuinely bothering Loosey and they didn't stop. I hated both of them this season.

I liked Loosey since the meet the queens and i’m happy to see that other people appreciates her too while also enjoying the time she was on our screens. I was so entertained and at the same time i knew what production was doing so i never let that affect my perspective about her. She’s an amazing drag artist and i admire her for being how she is 💖

The thing is I don't think neither Loosey or Lux are delusional, cause they did amazing and THE DAMM THANG. Even Loosey's bottom placements she was not bad at all. And the same with Lux, great on the challenges and great looks. When they complained about not winning, it's because they did absolutely great and the judges told them so as well. And I don't understand why people hate both of them cause they are phenomenal queens and they gave us good TV. The top 5 this season should have made it tho the finale and not on season 14.

I see a lot of myself in Loosey so while I agree with a lot of the points being made here I do think overall Loosey got a rough time of it on the show, even if all of it is being played up for the cameras. I don't know, but if someone called my drag 'generic' I think I would be defensive, I wouldn't see her reaction as 'off' personally, especially given the fact that she was being thrown shade every week. I know Mistress and Luxx were just doing it for drama, but it's hard for me to not find my opinion of them just a little less.
I just really like Loosey, even more now with a better understanding of the context around her, production, and all of that.
Someone just needed to sit her down, hold her hands and tell her that the mini challenge wins don't mean jack in terms of track record. Someone could win every mini challenge in a season but that would NOT mean that they had crown eligibility. Bless her.

I love her so much. I fell in love with her with Meet the Queens.
Loosey was not my favorite queen, but she is the one I identified with the most because we have the exact same personality type -- perfectionist.
Perfectionism is not arrogance. Perfectionism is the desire to put the very best of yourself out there -- in areas you work really hard in and know you're good at. For Loosey, that was comedy and singing.
Perfectionists also don't like losing. Sometimes, it's not that someone is better (we recognize there are just better/faster/stronger competitors). In our heads, it's not that we lost, it's that somehow we weren't perfect.
This obviously manifested in the talent competition, when her supposed strength was her downfall. When you're a perfectionist, you know what you're good at. You pour yourself into it. For me, it was academics. If there's something you're not good at, i.e. athletics, you just don't try because you know you're never gonna reach perfection.
So when Loosey was knocked down for what she considered her strength, she was destroyed, and, as this video points out, it took her awhile to recover.
As another commenter wrote, Loosey took everything negative to heart. That's a common perfectionist trait. You can get 99 compliments and 1 criticism and you obsess over the criticism.
When I interviewed Loosey at the finale, I knew I had to compliment her first, because I was going to follow-up with some critical questions.
I praised her for her look, which truly was the best of the bunch, so I was being genuine.
I then asked her which of the top 4 she was rooting for (a question I asked all the queens), framing it "as you just missed out."
I regretted it immediately when those words came out of mouth, because as fellow perfectionist, you don't want to be reminded of your shortcomings.
Even under all that makeup, I could tell her expression shift. She replied, "Well thanks for reminding me," in a half-joking manner. But I realized what I had said stung, because it stung me. Self-deprecation is often a defense mechanism we use.
To salvage our conversation, I (genuinely) offered more praise and you could see her ease off the perfectionism.
And I will say this. She was hands down the most well-spoken and articulate of all the queens, with Mistress right up there.
I hope we see her in All-Stars, but perfectionism -- particularly in the performing arts -- is tough demon to shake.
