Great video; those speakers look incredible! Can you share timestamps for the movie scenes you tested for us to compare and listen to at home?
I love AMT tweeter speakers. I have the GoldenEar BRX as my LCR.
source=Apple Music lossless
It's nice to finally see what your room looks like Shane! Hopefully someday you do a full breakdown, because I'm very curious what you ended up doing for your front wall behind the screen.
I'll have a vid soon.
I have rbh speaker that are almost 20 years old and they are incredible! A true gem in the audio industry!
🍻
The room is looking great! We need a full tour and build video!
Having same speakers throughout is the ultimate! Congrats on finding a speaker that you were willing to buy 18 times! That will definitely be my final and toughest purchase decision.
Emperor Demand execute order 661 😂😂😂 amazing speakers Shane
Some of the acting is hilarious 😂
Your home theater room is amazing. And I bet the sound is out of this world.
I like it.
Good morning Shane, in regards to your comment about sponsorship with companies, I think it’s great it shows that you have great integrity and knowledge keep up the good work never mind the haters. I will always watch your videos and soon to be a patron.
🍻
❤❤❤good morning and thanks
Tat was a enormous budget theatre 😮😮😮
Awesome review and the Theater looks outstanding. Well done Shane
Well done for what, it’s not as if he’s gone into a retailer and bought everything at recommended retail price he will have got a deal on pretty much everything I mean the speakers probably for free
I think Marc understands that reviewers get sent speakers to review. Novel idea right. You'll probably get your panties in a bunch again when you see the next home theater speakers I get.
@@justchilling4491 if he bought at retail he would have produced one video every 2 - 3 years then we would be complaining about that. lol
Hi Shane, I am building out my first home theater and I’m wondering how you decided speaker placement. As I’m sure you know, there is a lot of competing advice out there on what the best location for the bedlayer and atmos speakers are to maximize the “bubble of sound.”
Would love to hear your thoughts on the subject and how you eventually settled on speaker placement (if not here as a comment then perhaps in a video?). Thanks and looking forward to more content!
That’s a great review Shane and especially helpful for me as I am looking to buy RBH speakers
They are a fantastic brand, and even though not cheap, they are a tremendous value for the money.
I love AMT tweeter speakers. I have the GoldenEar BRX as my LCR.

Hey shane the review that you did with the rel t9x what was you best small sub after or before that review
Loved the video. Shane do you have a video or can you do a video how you setup your side surrounds as you mentioned having two rows. Did you split the side surround signal into two and just outputted them to the amps?Did you have to configure time delays differently per row and what was your method. I never really saw anyone do a video for adding multiple rows of sides. Just wanted to see how you connected them.
Great video and enjoy your speakers.
I have a Trinnov.
@@therealshanelee yeah I saw your other comment to another question similar to mine as I understand the Trinnov has two pairs outputs for side surrounds. Thanks Shane. 👍🏾
This is an amazing video. This is giving me great ideas
Question. How do you keep the bass contained when the super low frequencies of the tools shake the walls. Neither Dirac alive or my Arc Genesis seems to contain it if I have the subs turned up a little
Shane, good to see you have a space that is yours, one that you can make your own. I recently had this opportunity after years of work. It is an amazing feeling to walk into your dedicated theater and know all of the work that went into it.
I see you have height speakers instead of overhead speakers. Was this because of the mounting options of the speakers? Or they sounded better there?
The reason I ask is because I have 4 overhead speakers and am planning my next steps. I am trying to decide on whether it is worth it to add height speakers or not along with left and right wide speakers?
Confused why people think I have heights. These are tops.
@@therealshanelee sure. I appreciate you answering the question.
Spot on review! That perfectly captures my experience with them too. That AMT is my favorite tweeter I've heard. I appreciate the honesty about the phase plug chuffing, but as you said, cross them over to the subs to eliminated the con, and you've got a very robust and excellent sounding speaker that's hard to beat in that price range.
The tweeters are great for sure 👍👍
Shane, what bracket/mount did you use to get your wides angled that way? And yes, I checked the description 😂 Thx!
It's in the description 🤷♂️
@@therealshanelee oh, so maybe the same Wali ceiling mount that you also used for the wides?
I was at Dunns house a few weeks ago listening to them. They are now in my top favorite speakers list
😳🥂
The theater looks great, Shane!
Thanks!
Great editing brother.
@hatoraidcowboy Heh yeah I kept rewinding to see the camera transitions again >_
Got a chance to listen to them at MWAVE. I thoroughly enjoyed their demo room.
You should swap the LCRs for the 821'S ;-)
Hey, Shane. How do you like the height speaker placement vs what the Atmos guide recommends as top speakers? Do you find the height setup to be more immersive?
These are set up as tops. And I do think they work better than heights.
@@therealshaneleeah, ok. So set up as tops and placed like heights? Sorry if that’s a dumb question. 😅
Elac CC241.4-SB Carina Black Center Channel Speaker test these???
Hello Shane, Thanks a lot for the review, I was waiting impatiently, not going to lie, you did an amazing job on the review as always keep it up… oh yeah the home cinema looks fantastic.
Thanks 🙏
I like the front view when you're facing the screen talking, cool shot!
Great review Shane! I remodeled my theater with 7 RBH SI-760's for the bed layer, 6 RBH VM-815 for Atmos a couple years ago now.. love them more and more every time we watch movies! Spot on review IMOP👍
That’s awesome! 💪🏽💪🏽
Those are very nice speakers, might be time to do another upgrade to my home theater speakers. 😅
Love the new setup, amazing use of space and looks fantastic!!! Where is that 21”?
I went with the 831 LCR and 821 sides, 661 rears, 815 atmos, but that bed layer you have probably sounds so immersive! Congrats on the new theater setup!
Your setup sounds impressive 🍻
So overall, the output is better than the single 6" woofer RBH? Do you feel the need to go to the 821 with the 8" woofers?
If I had a bigger space I'd have gone with the 8.
how do you compare this to perlisten?which one is better do you think?thx!
Perlisten doesn't have anything in this price point.
@Shane. What mounts are you using for hanging the Atmos speakers? Are they holding the angle that you are directing to for that weight?
It’s in the video description.
@@therealshanelee those are TV mounts. Did you have to drill holes in the speaker to accommodate them or face plate of the mount fits the speaker mount points?
th-cam.com/video/Zr9FOpsEeuY/w-d-xo.html
You’ve had Arendal and now RBH what one do you like better?
The ones that I always currently have.
Hi Shane, what are you using to hold up your height speakers?
Check video description
@@therealshanelee Thank you Shane, did you have to drill new holes on your speakers to mount it on the tv mount for the ceiling?
Shane, are your heights the 661 on-wall turned horizontal or are they actually a center channel? Just wondering if the tweeter getting turned sideways makes a difference if it’s built to be a vertical speaker?
They're angled.
Hi XudenGroupLLC, this particular AMT has very good horizontal and vertical dispersion with the vertical being only 10 degrees less than the horizontal. In extremely off axis cases it would matter slightly, but in Shane's case, he's not missing a thing.
In your opinion, how does RBH compare to Ascendo?
If they weren't as good or better I wouldn't have 18 of them in here as my dedicated speakers.
Room is looking good, my guy!
Thanks 👍👍
My main worry with flush mounted speakers is that they might vibrate during low end sounds and cause a buzzing sound against the wall. How is this prevented in your case?
They sit on fabric wrapped insulated wall panels. Some are on swivel brackets.
@@therealshanelee Nice! How did you mount the speakers and brackets on the wall panels without damage? Im sure you needed a stud or a hard surface right?
So you’re saying RBH? I was just at their shop here in Utah today?
Yes indeed.
Great video Shane. What in your view are the advantages of this RBH system compared to the previous Ascendos you were rocking before?
I ask because I'm looking at both Ascendo and RBH, so I'd like to know your thoughts if you could be so kind to describe the advantages of the RBH over the Ascendos
Can you please reply to my question?
YAAAAAASSSSS Boom!! He hit us with the Boom!!! Edit: Fantastic review. Those camera transitions too smooth thooough. The setup is great. May I recommend 2021's No Time to Die, the beginning scene where Mr. Bond and his soon to be ex-baddy are being shot at from all sides while in their car. Should sound thoroughly sick in your space...sir.
I'll check it out.
Hi Shane, MK Sound M90 never came into your mind?
Didn’t know they made on walls like that.
Nice theater room Shane! You like those Barcelona seats!
They're the ones to get.
Awesome setup. Congratz to that amazing HT . Is IT possible to use these speakers as a Center below the screen? With a non transparent screen i mean.
Yes
you have a great looking room
Thanks!
Home theatre enthusiasts take note that this is how it's done. Yeah, man, you're getting a little too good at this shit (class act)
Personally, I've always been under the illusion that there's speakers for HT, and there are speakers for two channel stereo. Perhaps I'm wrong? Mind you, it's only when I move my stereo speakers away from the boundary of nearby walls that I'm able to take advantage of a full-on soundstage! Not forgetting the presentation of an enhanced holographic image, too.
I believe there are HT and two channel speakers too. Not everyone agrees but oh well.
I’m doing this same setup speaker setup. What did you use for the ceiling and wide mounts?
Links in video description.
Do you prefer the RBH speakers over say the RTJ speakers? Also, do you have any subs in the rear of your room?
JTR would be overkill and he would have trouble fitting them.
@@XudenGroupLLCOverkill? Never!
Thanks
Ssshhheeesss!! 18 speakers. And myself is thinking my 5.2.2 is already enough 😅 lol love those rbh speakers.
It's NEVER enough! 🤣
@@therealshanelee I hear you brother. lol little by little will update my system.
Yeaaah buddy, you living large now👍👍
Congradulations on that house
When are we getting a full tour of the new space?
Soon
Hi Shane, really liking the fact, you mentioned the issue with deep bass causing some audible issues when run full range. Appreciated. Also the production level is up a notch. Great.
Btw V8 sounds more vivid and louder rather without turbo chargers.. glad you have fun with these.
Great review. Still not sold 100% on RBH. It was not an enthusiastic demo from your typical standards.
Somehow I feel the same as yours and 1500 bucks each is a tall ask.
Iam a very early viewer of your channel and I have to ask, how do they compare with Ascendo ? Aascendo The 6 vs RBH 661 SW/R, are they both on the same level?
They both have their strengths and weaknesses.
@@therealshanelee@therealshanelee And in terms of their on wall speakers for movies, that would be ...... ?
Good morning my beautiful people
why is there light coming in the walls?
Because I put it there.
I used towers all around. Best thing I ever did was the rear towers then sides
Shane why not get Perlisten S4S which has angled tweeter towards ur MLP ?
They're glossy.
@@therealshanelee They do matte and custom finish. I got S4S in ebony just takes a bit of time for them to make them
@@aaronao1 plus I've already reviewed the S series. If they come with something new then it's a possibility. But Yes I did think of the s4's.
@@therealshanelee thx they just seem to have much better bass extension and angled tweeter. in ur room the tweeters are WAY off axis for surround duties. and cos the speakers are close ur not at tweeter height with no tilt so ur relying on off axis sound in a vertical dispersion pattern. this is not going to give ideal sound.
@@aaronao1 thanks for the comment. But I have them installed properly and have heard and owned both. I'd say I have a good idea of how they both sound.
Very very nice Shane. How do you calibrate a dual Side Surround sound system? I'm thinking time alignment?
It's automatic.
@@therealshanelee Because it's a Trinnov?
@@peterandersen412 yep
@@therealshanelee So it's not advisable to run dual side surrounds on a ''regular'' av receiver. I'm thinking Pan-through array?
@@peterandersen412 not unless it was designed for it.
Damn, brother. Now that I’m back on the East Coast, have to come to Connecticut to see my niece at Yale and check out yo’ shite!
Hey Shane, what’s your thoughts on Front Height Atmos speaker placement vs Overhead? I can do either but front heights would save a lot of work.
I’ve never seen a Dolby theater use height placement before.
@@therealshanelee ? The speakers above your screen are the front height Atmos speakers, right? I’m wondering if I should install mine above the screen or do the work to install them in the ceiling!
Any update Shane? What does “I’ve never seen a Dolby Theater use height placement” mean? Yours are above the screen. Better than overheads?
man...! I would LOVE to watch some demos in your theater with this specific setup. RBH 55iwr are my goal for front 3 channels when I can save up for them. This brand has really come to my attention in the last 6 months or so with your help and some other content they've been a part of, also its great their new impression series is available direct to consumer. thanks for the review and it seems like your video production value has really improved, nice work.
also, i have never owned or heard speakers with AMT - what are some of the biggest differences vs silk dome tweeters?
Depends on the tweeter. There are amazing soft domes that sound like AMT’s and vice versa.
@@erecher005 the 55-iwr is a fantastic choice. We had a customer just buy some for his rear speakers and his comment was "1 word: WOW". He said it's the best tweeter he's experienced and he shared some bad news, he wants to replace his beloved LCRs with more Impression speakers. (He wasn't going to replace them). If you have any further questions, never hesitate to reach out. Happy listening! -Kenny
@@KennyMuhlestein Thanks Kenny for the reply! I am trying hard to save those pennies and get wife approval.
Have you ever tested M&K s150 or s300?
I owned the 150's for years.
Do you like these speakers more than your last ‘endgame’ speakers, which were Ascendo?
There’s never really an end game speaker.
@@therealshanelee these are better than the P6? Or maybe you had the P10. Why did you switch?
Atmos Speaker Front pretty Close together? Angle 35° ??
The room looks great. You must have a tremendously immersive experience. Did I understand you correctly that the RBH speakers are a step up from your old Ascendo speakers?
🤔 interesting
@@therealshanelee yes, interesting to me too, hence the question. I am interested in some thoughts given you have experienced both
Shane, did you move ? Is this a new theather? If so a new tour would be nice. Looks really good
th-cam.com/video/BD07NIIw-oY/w-d-xo.html
@@therealshanelee awesome!
Can these hit reference level easily?
Hits my personal max ref level. Anything higher I don't mess with.
@@therealshanelee around what db would you say that is?
@@nicolasben-fredj8162 it's different for every movie. But everyone should know when the volume becomes uncomfortable to just back it down. Your hearing is more fragile the older you get. Don't worry about the db.
It’s amazing how much louder you can listen when your speakers are capable of ‘clean’ high output spl. Listening fatigue creeps in when your speakers start reaching their upper limits.
I wish RBH or someone else had done a smaller more attainable system like this at MWave. JVC projector with these RBH would have motivated more people to go home and duplicate.
We did have the budget 85-i towers on display for music, they do excel at movies too. If you didn't get a chance to hear them, we apologize. They were a hit.
I first heard of RBH when I first started looking for speakers for my theater back in 2013. I went with another brand instead.
How dare you!
@@therealshanelee yeah I went the Niles Soundstage series. They aren't made anymore but at the time high quality theater speakers in the mode of M&K speakers.
atmos speakers do have 45 degree angle? and to the sides also 45? They look narrow ..
Much more RGB , upsss back , much more speakers 😁👍👍👍👍
Crispy!
Surprised u went with Rbh. A LOT of people who went to mwave said the RBH room speakers were too bright.
I’ve had a lot of speakers in my place. They’re definitely NOT bright.
RBH at MWAVE was my second favorite room. Didn't sound bright at all.
@@hatoraidcowboy You liked it more than the Ascendo room?
I was at MWAVE and didn’t think they were bright. I also heard the freestanding version of this speaker in a 2 channel demo and they sounded phenomenal.
Grimani then RBH in my opinion! JTR was like an amusement park ride. Excessive, but fun.
Are you sticking with these?
I review speakers. Many, many speakers.
Years ago gravity screwed up my centre speaker 🙈
perlisten subs in the back ?
Yep
@@therealshanelee nice
why not get Perlisten in walls or on walls instead? they will have better bass bro!
I've already reviewed their speakers. Be odd to review them a second time.
6 ohms and a ribbon tweeter in an MTM design??? Shane...you need a long long long long break from all this stuff.
Shanes 401K is his home theater.
11:10 price
Trying without the sub is silly. The speakers behave differently when crossed to a sub. Often crossed to a sub they are more efficient in the lower mids and upper bass.
Did you not pay attention to why?
$27,000 for just speakers w/o subs, I am sure sounds great but way beyond most HT’s. 🤑
Well there are 18 speakers. It adds up.
