The Starlet looks like a winner and the price seems reasonable. The big Toyota network is also great, so it’s easy to find one close by for services. VW are tops with their styling and interiors though.
I do a mini drive test in the video. But generally its only just a 4 speed auto, so its good for just normal driving and if you not in a rush. But if you are trying to floor it, it takes time to pick up And tends to hold gears for longer. So ends engine ends up being a bit louder. With that said. For what this car is made to be. It does it well wrt the drive

How is the Sound system?
VW never disappoints with sound systems. Obviously its not bose or bang & olufsen, but its better than most systems I’ve heard
