In our latest Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video we take you through 7 Aedric artifacts of the elder scrolls universe.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

Something I've always wanted was deeper lore and perks for praying to a specific Aedra or Daedra. Like imagine if at some point in the game you could vow allegiance to an Aedra or Daedra and as you level up with their blessing you get more and more perks or skills befitting that devine's champion. Sounded cool to me. Lemme know if I explained that right:P

i wish every Aedra in Skyrim had a specific quest, like daedric princes. I really enjoy Mara and Dibella quests (and the fact they give useful passive effects!), so that could be really cool
Vaiole There are specific quests for Divine Priests and that's about as close as you can get because aren't the Aedra technically dead?
The thing is unlike the Deadra the Adrea prefer to not involve themselves in the affairs of mortals. Only in dire circumstances do they act. They prefer mortals to sort out problems but are sometimes willing to give the tools or sutle hints to aid them complete the task. Example is the divines creating the Divine Crusader relics to Pelinal so he could help Alessandro crush the Ayleids. The dragonborn being sent into the world is another example. The Adrea also barely ever communicate with mortals it's usually done with visions and dreams. Again it's just how the Adrea are the total opposite of the Deadra. It could be also the Aedric can be killed while a Deadric Prince can not the Aedra may take a more cautious approach to things for their own safety.
Paul Grattan The Aedra gave up their physical forms to create the universe, so they're just really powerful ghosts now so maybe it's not that they're vulnerable, but they need to conserve their energy so they don't fade out of existence.
Aedra can actually be more powerful than Daedra, since (long, convoluted conversation aside) they get power through worship.
However they act more like guides, unlike the Daedra who tend to tell their followers what to do, except Sheogorath, who is another story in of itself.
Vaiole the Aedra aren't able to interact with the world like the Daedra, the Aedra can "possess" humans like Talons was by Lorkan, the reason he is a God is because he became one with him

And that they weren't mostly useless like in Skyrim. They should grow with the character and be far beyond anything you can hope to create yourself. Also be very difficult to get our even find the quest for, make them a series of quests and you have to pick one side or the other to receive the items from. With the daedric princess sending people and daedra after you to retrieve the item if you go after more than one

@@TheBeelzboss If ES6 has the second war against the Thalmor, the Deadra would be driving antagonists of the game IMO. Since the series has been more Deadric focused, would be nice if Bethesda leaned heavy on the Aedric side for the player experience to combat the enemies

Listen he mentioned things that were not even present in skyrim like the fucking amulet, so this video is actually just “aedra artifacts in Tamriel” so technically the CC does add in aedric artifacts and don’t pull some bullshit saying that it isn’t canon like I have seen others say, just because it’s in the CC doesn’t mean it’s no longer canon.

Victory Rose, I'd argue that too, but if the brush of truepaint can be on the list because it's mentioned, than so can the heart.
Actually, while Lorkhan is completely a Padomaic deity, he's still an Aedra, just one who tricked the other Aedras into helping him create Mundus at the cost of most of their power(for the most powerful ones) and also at the cost of their divinity(for all other ones).
Originally, the deity-like beings were just the Et'Ada, who with the creation of Nirn got separated in two sides.
The Aedra are those who took part in the creation of Mundus with Lorkhan(thus including him too, as well as Magnus and his followers even though they ran away in the middle of the job).
The Daedra are those who didn't take part in the creation of Mundus at all.
This thus also mean that in both sides there are some who are only Padomaic, some only-Anuic, and some who are a mix of both.
I would love to see more of Magnus in TES 6. One of the best moments for me in skyrim was when i first saw the eye of magnus. It was so cool.

And then they did nothing with such a cool piece of lore. Come on Bethesda, we learned nothing about the eye of Magnus in its whole quest.
One Man Kebab Remover bits and pieces, thats how elder scrolls lore works. You get some info on a subject from one guy then maybe some from a book, but another book says simething that contradicts the guy, next game you get more info. Its fun and keeps things mysterious and realistic.

Shrines of Vivec, Almalexia and Sothal Sil also work... That doesn't mean they are gods, neither Tiber Septim... They are powerful mortals that reached an important state of existence, but no way they are Aedra or can be consider a Divine.

There is literally nothing that proves his divinity, men don't ascend into the heavens so easily. Correction, men don't become gods. I mean, he was powerful in life and maybe also now that he is dead there's still some power that lingers, that can explain the blessings. But he can't be no god or aedra. Basic theology, you guys can insult high elves and shout what you want, that doesn't mean you are rigth. Study more lore xd.

I used to hate how you could get a daedric/ aedric artifact and you could do more damage with a elven sword. They should be an end game sorta thing and they do something unique. (Talking about in skyrim, oblivions artifacts were good)
I get what you're saying. They should be unique artifacts with unique enchantments. And if it's not a unique enchantment, it should be more powerful than anything you could enchant and with unlimited charges.
Most of them are more powerful if your a higher level when you start the quest

Actually I replaced the model from the standalone version with the one from the paladins armor set from the same mod author, it's pretty freakin' cool.

Oblivion kind of had that. If you went around killing people, the gods would absolutely refuse to have anything to do with you (even if you wanted to do the knights of the nine dlc) until you repented and did a pilgrimage to each of their shrines.

But still, that's just a redemption mechanic. Having one that affects your stats, skill trees and perks automatically would be great. Needing like LVLwhateverthehell bad karma for the dark brotherhood to notice you, and good karma for some others to notice (maybe specific gods for specific guilds). Same with Daedra, needing to work for specifically one of the Princes to even notice and then getting an item. Not the usual: You are the special, get to level 20 or something and then instantly get permission to go on my quest.
While I definitely think that it would be kind of cool to get a unique perk for having X amount of good or bad karma, I wouldn't really want it to touch my skill tree to be perfectly honest.
My main problem with a karma system is that it's not you (the player) who decides what's wrong or right, it's Bethesda. So maybe you think that it's perfectly morally right to join the Imperial Legion, but Bethesda thinks that the Stormcloaks are the right decision. Well, you just lost karma for something that you thought was agreeable.
This is an extreme example, and I highly doubt that Bethesda would make you lose karma for something that they worked so hard to make into more of a grey area, but my point is that I'd rather decide for myself what the right decision is rather than the game.

The problem I have with this is that gods aren't always necessarily good or evil. Nocturnal, for example, rewards stealth, and though her domain includes theives, it is still arguably a gray area. Same for Azura or Meridia. Even Aedra like Kynareth could be seen as bad at times, her spriggans are often needlessly violent.
An interesting idea might be a system that tracks certain aspects, like being generous or greedy. Mara and her followers would want nothing to do with someone who is very sadistic. Likewise Molag Bal would want nothing to do with someone who is helpful or heroic.

What about the Divine Crusader's armor and weapons? Each piece had a corresponding divine (Excluding blessing of Talos)

@@thatonezack7407 Yes? It's from an expansion for Oblivion. That one questline that starts with "go pray to all the shrines in Cyrodiil". It was neat because if you wanted to keep using the Crusader's gear you actually *had* to keep up your reputation, AKA play a good character.

What about Talos's Armor. The set you retrieve in Oblivion as the "blood of a Divine" to help open a gate Mancar Cameron's plane (I forget which one it was).

I'll give you a pass on Auriel's Bow since technically Auriel and Akatosh are kind of the same but Magnus isn't an Aedra. The Aedra are the beings that gave part of themselves to create Nirn. A part of Magnus exists in Nirn as magicka because those that didn't stay left and opened holes between dimensions. This causes Magnus' power to filter in. He's more of a Daedra than anything since he just interacts. That's why his artifacts are in Nirn. He actually created the Staff of Magnus so he could interact with the mortal real without his power destroying everything - it's why it's stated in the CoW quest line that it's the only thing that can contain Magnus' power.
Also the Aedra can interact with the mortal realm but don't since they can die. They're basically in hiding.
Christopher Henderson no Magnus isn't daedra him and countless others exist some where else entirely besides Oblivion and nirn. Each star is a God who also bounced with magnus.

I don't see why you would need to "given him a pass" on Auriel's Bow, Auriel is just as much Aedra as Akatosh, more so in fact, since we know Auriel in the timeline originated first.
And Magnus DID help with the creation of Mundus, and sacrificed some of his power. He simply escaped once he, the Architect, found out that Lorkhan had tricked the others, and so he blasted through Aetherius as fast as he could before he lost too much power to escape.
By definition, he's more Aedra than Daedra. Plus, he resides effectively in Aetherius more than any of the other Aedra, who are tied and sorta stuck part way in Mundus. He doesn't have a Daedric Realm in the planes of Oblivion

I would hope for some Aedra items in ES6, but we will always get almost the same daedric stuff i guess, i am not complaining, but oh well...
It makes sense lore-wise that daedric artifacts are more common and easy to acquire, since the daedra more directly interact with mortals.

It would be cool if they included a weapon/armor/accessory called "[Insert item type] of the Hero" and based on the type of item it would correlate with a previous elder scrolls game like a sword from Obilvion that deals bonus damage to Daedra. It doesn't have to be a lot but it'd be a good call back.

I find it interesting that you took the time to mention Talos, but left Tiber Septim's armor off the list. It doesn't have the same level of power or importance as some of the others, but it has one of the most interesting creation stories. Basically, the Armor worn by Tiber Septim was crafted by mortals and began its existence as nothing more than some admittedly fancy and nice armor. After Tiber Septim died and became the 9th Divine known as Talos, the armor was affected and gained divine status. This can be seen in its use to fulfill the "blood of a Divine" requirement when Martin performs the ritual to open a door to Mankar Camoran's paradise. I'm not sure what happened to the armor after Martin wore it during the Battle of Bruma. I always found that artifact fascinating for its creation story. It started out as mundane armor and ascended to divine status, mirroring Tiber Septim's ascension from mortal to the 9th Divine, Talos.
Why is the video titled "Skyrim - 7Aedric Artifacts" whenever only a couple were actually in Skyrim officially whole others are mods and the last one isn't even in the game at all? That's pretty misleading and cheap, dude.

Tbh you could say lore wise only a god could truly bring out the bows power. A mortal gets a nuanced power. I bet in the hands of its original owner it would be devastating.

Then again if Auriel's bow would be truly god like, people would now complain that it's over powered.
It is also one of the best combat bows in the game because of it's fire rate and it's unique sun damage ability.
However I do agree that it is slightly too nerfed and that is true with all aedric and daedric artifacts in the game.
It shouldn't be possible to just smith up and enchant better stuff on your own than what the actual gods can do.
But ofcourse you are also the dragonborn blessed by a god itself so there's that too :D

There should at least have been the mention of Talos' armour (from Oblivion). It is required to balance the daedric artifact for Mancar Camoran's spell.
Talos isn't an aedra. He wasn't involved in creating nirn, he was just a guy that ascended to godhood through achieving chim.
Dangaval Neither is/was Magnus. Not only isn't he one of the Nine Divines, but he specifically ditched Nirn so his body couldn't be drained to form it in the first place.
Arguably he acquired said Godhood in part by mantling Lorkhan/Shezzar, which, depending on which pantheon you follow could make him either an Aedra, Daedra, or something in between. Talos filled the place of the "missing god" in any case.
Dark_Messiah lorkhan isnt a daedra by high elf means if thats what you think by saying talos may be a daedra. Though he is a devil figure, lorkhan is still an aedra to high elves, any god who helped with nirn is aedra

The Chim-el Adabal is most certainly an artifact of lorkhan. The book Amulet of kings in earlier elder scrolls games stating that the pact was made between Alessia and shor. This was changed to akatosh when Oblivion was released. Penal Whitestrake was also cleary linked to shor/lorkhan however everyone who witnessed his presence at Alessia death bed decribed him as a dragon leaning over her.
There is however theories that lorkhan and akatosh are the same being, much as is sheorgorath and jyggylag

Skyrim is Elder Scrolls *_FIVE._* There were FOUR other games before it. All of the creation club items he mentioned DO exist in the base game, but not all of those games are Skyrim.

I’d love it if the Aedra played a much more central role in people’s lives. I love the lore in the Elder Scrolls but I wish they would have handled the Aedra differently. Rather than loosing power as a result of creating the world they could have instead simply been bound to it. Then they could have been just as powerful and active as the Daedra.
It would be hard to balance a game like thats lore. Daedra and Aedra would be in a constant state of war in those conditions seeing as Daedra like to do whatever they want to mortals with no remorse

It sorta balances out, because they created Mundus, they can influence more then the Daedra can. But, the Daedra are over all more powerful and can still screw with Mundus a lot.

Yes, considering quite a lot of the content is armor/weapons that either fit nicely into Skyrim or appear in previous Elder Scrolls games. Plus it means the Dwemer tinkered with mudcrabs, and I love the thought of that.

What about the armor of tiber septim from oblivion. Jaufree says they need essence of an aedra to get to mancar camoran's paradise and that is what you use.

If gods receive power because of people praying to them how come the aedra havent got much power if they are the main religion of the world
Yes I know they used a tonne of their power to create the world but if the daedra pulled out of the creation how come they seem to be more influential in the actual happenings on nirn when they too supposedly reside in their own separate realms of oblivion
I think it’s because the Aedra left Nirn and the realm it’s in after they were finished and became divines again residing in Aetherius, whereas the Deadra planes of oblivion are like planets in the same realm as Nirn so they’re closer, they also are more influential on Nirn because they want to be worshipped and revered by what they see as meaningless creatures that are beneath them whereas the Aedra give no fucks about being worshipped and just wanted off that rock after Lorkan fucked them over. I don’t think the Aedra actually care about Nirn and the people worshipping them, kind of like “It’s up to you now, protect yourselves. K, bye.”

Just a bit of a correction for the end, the Daedra interact with Nirn Easier than the Aedra. The Aedra have been known to interact with mortals from time to time, it's simply less common however as Aetherius is quantifiably harder to reach than Oblivion, and I'd assume it works both ways as ut does with Oblivion.

Can someone help me understand Nirn and Mundus? I've heard people call both of them the world of The Elder Scrolls Series
Nirn is the actual planet, while mundus is the plane (Consists of Nirn, the 2 moons, and the Aedric realms forming a kind of barrier between mundus and oblivion)
and oblivion is the space between mundus and aetherius that was see as the black of the night sky. Think of planets, but not how our world works. Each "planet" exists in its own realm and is not really a physical object, but you can still physically travel to the point in space that planet exists at and physically enter the realm

lets say you finish a quest for molag bal and not only you would recieve the mace you would also recieve a full set of unique looking daedric armor to show your alliegance to the daedric prince or aedric god

Karl Mosbo he even talked down about creation club in the video dick. It's lore not necessarily items you can just get. Some of the aedric artifacts are in Skyrim bit only through creation club. They exist lore wise anyway. Would u idiots prefer he never mention you caaan get them??

Top Kek Every piece was crafted by the original 8 divines. They are Aedric in their origins. The sword was created by Arkay the shield Julianos for example. The Crusader is the champion of the divines their mortal instrument.
I say The Divine Crusader gear should go second on this list. Amulet of Kings is still the most powerful in my opinion.
In game I have always thought Aedra and Daedric artifacts should level with your character. If every 10 levels the enchantment got a increase it would keep them relevant in late game.
