Awww, thank you, OTLE. This helps with coming to terms with the loss of our beautiful dad (inside and out) and our mum, who is currently struggling with grief and ill health. One day, they will both be beautiful and happy again and reunited, although I hope mum hangs on a good while longer.
Anna, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of your dear father, and your mum's grief and struggles with her health. You are so right, that they will be beautiful, happy again, and together once more in heaven, and I hope your mum stays too, as long as you need her! Sending love to you during a difficult time, and hope!
I've always had this inner knowing of this. When I experienced NDEs, the sense I felt was our physical bodies were restricting. In heaven your body is light, unrestricted in movement. Your thoughts are lightening fast. Answers to question the same. You think of somewhere you want to be and you're there. And yes everything is much more vivid and vibrant and alive. Needless to say I was not happy to come back to my body. And even complained that in heaven our bodies don't hurt, you don't get sick and your movements flow so much freer. I told my mom this and that I don't like being in this body ( I wasn't talking about looks ). Rather I was talking about feeling restricted and heavy. I told my my mom, I want to go back to heaven. She told me... Well, you only have one body that God gave you. You're going to have to work with what God gave you here on earth. I remember this so clearly when I was a child. And remember not liking my mom's explanation and pouted about it... Lol. But anyway I so look forward to returning home. Just to think we will never have to deal with anymore physical ailments, sickness, injuries. Or burdened with trivial burdensome issues of the physical world. Sounds like a winner to me. And knowing we can learn and be a part of a greater purpose for God is divine to me! This excites me the most is going back home and never having to leave it ever again! Wow, I'm in tears... This how much I long to back home ( heaven ). Love and blessings 😇🙏🌺
I have heard that a lot, Pamelyn - how difficult it is to readjust to a physical body after spending some time in your spiritual one! I can only imagine it would be frustrating, and even without the comparison, I know this body I'm in requires an awful lot of maintenance (which I'm not always great about), needs constant feeding and emptying, and generally feels clunky and doesn't quite seem on the same page as my mind (I just want to do a back flip! Why won't my body agree???). But - I suppose it's part of the learning and growing experience! And we sure will appreciate the spiritual things after living deeply in the physical! Love and blessings to you too!
These videos are great. They offer a sense of peace knowing we’ll be with our loved ones once again. I’m 55 years old and have lost numerous close friends, and most elder relatives. While I’ve always tried to treat others with kindness and respect, I’m human and don’t always succeed. My mother was very emotionally damaged from her childhood through being married to my father. She relied on me for countless things and I often got frustrated and lost my temper with her. When she was in a hospice, intruded to apologize for my lack of patience, but, as was typical of her, she told me how much she loved me. I was emotionally wrecked when she died, ‘‘tis been 13 years and I still think about all the things I should have done differently. So here’s my question. I frequently talk to her and have asked her numerous times to send me a sigh so I know she’s ok. Without exception, some silly little thing happens that could only cone from her allows me to feel she’s in the wonderful place she deserves to be in. Is this just something my mind creates, or can they let us know they’re still around? And again, thank you for recommending this wonderful video. Lovingly, Paul Cook
I'm so glad this video offered you some of what you are seeking, Paul! In terms of your own connection with the spiritual world, yes, we are capable of receiving communication from our loved ones in the afterlife. Unlike Swedenborg, our receiving is much more subtle -- often through mental images and feelings. Some people report overt signs like a visit in a dream, so it does happen! Your experience is your own; your prayers are between you and God; and your mind is in freedom to embrace what makes sense to you. It sounds like your willingness to pray and your openness to spiritual influence are being met with a sense of peace, a really good sign when it comes down to it! Love and blessings to you in your grief process. You clearly loved your mom very much. Know that you will be reunited one day in the spiritual world! Here's a video you might find helpful: "5 Kinds of Spiritual Experiences." th-cam.com/video/NFIKSDFrOEI/w-d-xo.html
I can't wait to hug my best friend again when it's my time to cross over. I don't care how beautiful our spiritual bodies will look..but it will be so wonderful to see her healthy, young, and happy. She loved the Lord so much. Heaven must be a sublime place!
Aw Kristen Rae, I'm so sorry you lost your best friend (or rather, are separated for the time being!). I'm sure she is very happy there, and excited to see you again! I believe it is sublime, and your friend sounds like a really lovely person. It's so hard to be apart from the people we love. I wonder if you'd like "5 Reunions in the Afterlife," th-cam.com/video/wpWrtwlyvE0/w-d-xo.html our episode that shares some powerful reunions Swedenborg witnessed in the next world. Thank you for you comment!
What a great episode. I am so happy to see how this channel has progressed overtime. Great Job Guys. This show and what it teaches has helped me in my life in so many ways.
Ditto - awesome job, Curtis, Jonathan, Karen, Chelsea and team. May the Lord fill your sails with His Spirit !! You impart more sense to the world than all the talking heads on TV put together. Curtis, funny you and your mom do not acknowledge each other as mother and son on the show, but that's how it should be. It is about the message, not the messengers (however awesome they may be!)
According to what Swedenborg learned, the answer is YES, Michael. Perhaps more accurately, Divine Love and Wisdom! Swedenborg uses goodness/love and truth/wisdom almost interchangeably sometimes. The two driving forces!
It's very true my Mother talked about life in heaven before she died and even said she was seeing the Spirit of life and death fighting at that moment. Mum Rip and rise in Glory Thanks OTLE team this channel is just my no. One
I found this video very interesting. I have a close friend and mentor who was in a terrible car accident and had a near death experience. She said she went to heaven and saw her Dad who appeared younger (in his twenties) holding her daughter who died in the womb. She was brought back and died years later from complications from the injuries in that accident. What she described makes sense. To grow old in heaven is to grow younger and babies actually grow. Her father looked like he did in life, just much younger and very healthy. This whole concept gives me so much comfort.
I'm so glad you find comfort in these ideas, Amy. We do too, and that's why we want to share them! It's a beautiful thought that old people return to the prime of life, and babies grow into beautiful adulthood. So sweet to hear about her visions of her father. My dad died at age 82, and my Mom lived for fifteen more years after that. She said that everytime she dreamed about Dad, he was a young man, like when they were first married. Sweet!
This is so astounding and at the same time so beautiful. Knowing this gives me so much peace. What would we do without Swedenborg! He has changed my whole way of thinking. Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention.

Thanks for another super video. Ever since I was a child I was questioning my parents about where do we go when we die, and how we'll look like then - my poor parents were busy working and never had time to entertain such notions, however, this question followed me all my life. :))) Whilst I think that Swedenborg is adding unprecedented value to the spiritual literature and you are doing such a magnificent job to make it accessible, this particular literature about after-death and spirit has become so rich and vast nowadays, with many different experiences and accounts of the afterlife. Swedenborg was giving a direct and very human oriented account of his experience, hence catering for the human understanding. The ancient Greek philosophers said that to a horse God looks like a horse, and it's true. Belief and perception shows the mind what the mind believes it is, otherwise there may enter fear. From my own out of body and others accounts I experienced myself to be form-less, expanded and able to merge with everything. From my experience beyond the body I learnt that a body is a manifestation of a mental desire to be separate, unique and special and these are egoic traits, nothing wrong with it though, it's all experience. But in our true beingness as God created us, we are formeless, limitless and able to be everything. As a separate human, under the mind that thinks itself separated we can only discuss concepts of Oneness, eternity, limitless but as spirit we can experience and be these attributes without discussion. Again, anything that we believe we are, we are. God places no limits on our desire. So grateful for that!!! :)
Thank you Anamaria for your insights. It does seem like a paradox, whether we are separate being, or part of a limitless Oneness. Swedenborg says that the highest angels have deep awareness of both of these simultaneously, they do not contradict one another. I appreciate knowing that you have been asking these questions since childhood! You are a seeker. In her Ted Talk, Jill Boylte Taylor talks about her experience of this, when she had a stroke and saw her connection with everything.
Thanks so much for reaching out to say so, Elizabeth! You are very welcome -- we are so happy to hear when these ideas feel helpful to people. Feel free to reach out any time with questions or comments as you continue perusing our content. Blessings to you!
My daughter was the exception. She was a beauty and very kind to others in HS. She always stuck up for people who were bullied. She knew she was attractive but it did not matter to her. It came from her heart and I believe that she learned all she needed to learn here. She left early because of it. When I see her now, her looks are even more beautiful as she shines bright. The boys love her over there, but I am sure it is more so because of who she is. Yes, there are relationships over there. Everyone who I have seen over there looks like a better version of themselves, free of pain. When we go over and still need to work out issues, there is help, if you want it..
Little Lamb, your daughter sounds like an angel, even before she left for Heaven. I am so sorry for your loss, but so glad you have a connection to her beyond the veil, and have seen how radiant and beautiful she is. I'm sure everyone loves her! I think you are right, that there is so much help for any of us who want it, and wish to overcome our challenges. Thank you for sharing your beautiful, inspiring words and experience with us. Sending love, God bless, Little Lamb!
offTheLeftEye so you preach base on a philosophy by this Swedenborg is like you actually use this as your Bible instead of God’s teachings, please explain and excuse my ignorance
Thank you so much for this video it has given me so much peace.I do believe that a measure of something being true or not, is if it resonates in our Spirit. However that belief I had was recently challenged, while listening to a few ppl.speaking about their NDE's, they were emphatic that we do not have a body.Saying you must have form to have function, and also that the notion that we are just a mist, these points were explained in such a thorough way, I so appreciate this video.I'm saving it to my watch later collection!
So glad these ideas could be of real help in your desire to understand, Judi! Yes -- truth resonates in our spirit! You've inspired me (Chara) to watch this episode again, too. :) Our "Thought for the Day" under our Community tab is this quote from Swedenborg: "Perception is an inner feeling for whether a thing is true and good -- a feeling that can come only from the Lord." Blessings to you!
This episode led me to think about all the reasons to learn about ES and his descriptions of our true existence, now and the other side. I am beginning to realize from this and many other episodes, that we are in the spiritual world to the extent we are in touch with our spirit self within each of us. So the correspondence of our outer appearance changing as we grow in the next life is for me a representation of one of the greatest conditions of life as it is given to us which is that we are able, and will with effort and intention, grow in all the best attributes life can hold. (Of course, it will be very lovely and happy making to become healthier and more attractive because yes, we do tend to associate an attractive appearance with goodness - and beauty with happiness.) When I imagine becoming a better and better person I am so thrilled - imagine becoming more loving, kind, compassionate, forgiving, peaceful, understanding, insightful, considerate, caring, helpful, useful, willing and able, on and on forever and ever!!! Imagine taking on every positive, and useful quality and becoming more able to understand and do His Will!!! Of course this is beyond our ability to imagine what that could be like - and yet the more we want to be better and better, the more we want to be more and more helpful and willing, the more we listen to our inner voice, and learn our spiritual lessons, the better able we are to imagine such improvements, and the better able we are to contribute to the good of our neighbor here and now. So I do think it is worthwhile to remember the promise of eternal improvement and then accept the humbling effect this has on me as I realize I am in the very beginning efforts of becoming a better person. Sending gratitude and blessings for the gifts of the spiritual lessons you share. ❤️
Isn't it a wonderful blessing that the Lord can keep helping us grow into deeper, more evolved, and more loving and wise people to eternity, if we want that? Humbling and awe inspiring how much love God feels for every single one of us!
What a gift in your life, Travis, to have had that experience! And the resulting conviction about the reality of life after death must be a blessing, too.
I cannot wait to go back home! Where I know I will be loved unconditionally. Can think and truly be who I was meant to be. Without the judgement and narrow mindedness of this world. That stifles one's spirit and makes change take longer than it has to be. People look at change as if it's a dirty word or discomfort. The only discomfort is our growing pains of learning that we are not always right (ego). That change is essential for both spiritual and physical growth. Without it we stagnate in both... Love and blessings 😇🙏🌺
So true, Pamelyn! If only everyone was willing to undergo the kind of discomfort necessary to loosen the grip of the ego.... What a different world we could have! Blessings to you!
@@offTheLeftEye , Indeed so true, there is so much resistance to change. We weren't meant to stay the same. If God is molding us each step of the way to be better stewards. The only thing that remains the same is love, wisdom and truth. That brings us to change and that's a gift not a curse! Love and blessings to you too 😇🙏🌺
I can tell you just from normal dreams and also from lucid dreaming that we definitely have a spirit or mind body. I know that whenever I dream I look almost the same as I did as a young adult, late teens. I always look like I did around 19 to 21, but with none of the drawbacks like thinning hair, etc..
Thank you for your videos!! They have helped me with greater knowledge and understanding about many questions I have had about death and the afterlife. But I still do not understand how we can move on and be happy in another world, when we know we have left those that are mourning us and that we love very much behind? How can we remain content there knowing the feelings of those that are suffering our absence?
Great question, jilian. My understanding is that when you arrive in the afterlife, you will be comforted by angels that include people who have come before you who you knew and loved in this life. I imagine they would have a great deal of reassurance to share! We are also told by Swedenborg and often in NDEs that during the dying process people experience a profound understanding of why things are they way they are, they often report that "it all made so much sense" all of the sudden; and there are many reports of being assured or knowing intuitively that their family would be okay and be cared for. I think you will know in your heart that they are loved and cared for - and that it will feel like only a moment before you are reunited!
Thanks it's this kind of Swedenborgs videos materials that can only make you understand why it all happens that way keep on watching and you will realise that life here on earth is a journey and assignments once it's done you have to cross over.
I really enjoyed this episode. It reinforced my belief that there is a life after the body dies. I’m wondering about people that are physically disfigured or disabled in some way, would the body regenerate is some fashion? Of course, they wouldn’t look the same if the Lord “ repaired them”, only better. I’m sure they would welcome that also. Consciousness and usefulness leads to a better existence if we make that choice. I would also think the Lord would offer help and guidance to those who have had difficult lives, but wish to improve. Thanks 🙏🙂🌸👍🏻
@@julianbristow4793 Yes, the Lord has endless desire to offer help and guidance to everyone who wants it. We can all keep improving forever! And physical disfigurements or disabilities are not a part of a person's spiritual body, so, that will not transfer over. Those disabilities are only part of that outer, physical layer, and people shed that when they cross over.
offTheLeftEye ....Thanks, I appreciate your replies, you and “ the team” are definitely helping others to create a path through this very difficult world towards the Lords love, compassion, understanding, wisdom, and truth. ❤️
Wow! This comforts me a lot because I have been wondering what will change after death in terms of what we look like, what we enjoy etc. because that’s what makes us us. It’s good to know that we are still our inner selves (if that’s the right terminology) and we still have free will! It’s like earth, but 100000000 times better. Thank you. I was wondering why some people don’t have NDE’s, or remember them, when dying? Do you have an opinion on this?
I'm so glad that this episode, and this topic, felt comforting to you! You might enjoy the next episode in this series, "Will Life Be Different When You Die?", which looks at the similarities and differences between this life and the next. th-cam.com/video/u67AUEiaFE0/w-d-xo.html Regarding your question about NDEs: everybody dreams when they are asleep, but most of us don't remember most of the dreams when we wake up. I believe it is similar with NDEs. Just because some people don't remember having an experience doesn't mean it didn't happen. It just didn't stick in their earthly-consciousness memory. Does that make sense?
@@trulee663 We are blessed to be part of the conversation as well, Tru Lee. Just for fun, here is a link to a talk Dr Jonathan Rose gave many Octobers ago, about the way God can empty us out (like a pumpkin) so that his light can shine from within us. newchurchaudio.org/event.php?event=16899 Take care.
🎹🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 🎹 I have often wondered, since my Uncle Dave passed from this life 2 years ago, if my coming to discover OffTheLeftEye, and thus Swedenborg, was not due to his somehow leading me to that moment, after his passing. Though not as extensive as Swedenborg, he had his own "visions" into the spiritual realm, non-NDE experiences where he was, rather, completely healthy and alive . He and I spoke MUCH of the reality of his experiences, through the years. Much of the "essence of our true nature and reality" that we discussed (and thus even the TRUE relationship of our lives to what the "Church" really SHOULD be, versus its being mostly "religious" in it's nature... i.e. what people's minds and hearts DON'T know or believe about ultimate, true reality) directly parallels Swedenborg. And so, I truly wonder if my Uncle did not in fact "lead me" here, a few earth-months after his passing!? Huge "HMMMMmmmm"??! So, with that... back to this video. I just let my cat inside, petted on him a bit and talked to him, then fed him, as I watched him, wondering if he, too... this creature with "life"... is not also essentially a spirit, walking around in his earth-cat-suit. How could that be anything BUT true, if there indeed be a God-source of all existence? And following that thought further, what about my coffee cup, that I was filling with tangerine-orange tea, water brewed in my coffee maker, and to just jump directly to the point... every single atom of the entirity of the WHOLE physical universe... how can THEY "have existence", except they "come"..."from a spiritual source existence"? NOTHING, even ("mere"??) physical matter itself, exists in and of itself, but rather because it exists "FROM God". So... is EVERYTHING ultimately, actually completely and necessarily "spiritual" in it's true nature and existence? And is this somewhat related to Seedenborg's correspondences?? The entirity of existence necessarily MUST "manifest", were we capable of truly "seeing it", the higher reality from which it "comes". Does that make a bit of sense? And have I always been on some version of right track in that thinking (more like "deeper realization", than just merely "thinking" about it). All of that, along with much more from Swedenborg, was part of my initial absolutely jaw-dropping "wait!! What??!!! No way!!!" amazement when I first came across you guys and what I was hearing! And I'm back to starring blankly up into the air, as I say... "Uncle Dave?? Was that you?? ...leading me to our deep conversations continuing, but in confirmations of their truth that are now blowing my mind... with joy of the reality and hope of it's truth??!!" Ok, I'll hush! I don't even know what my point is... except I wonder deeply about how to KNOW the real Truth of EVERYTHING! :P ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And I also long to, even here IN this life, KNOW the reality of that hopeful Truth, that I might currently live a life that leads others, in love, to the true Joy of that amazing Truth! And so.. I seek... and ponder... and blab (obviously! :P ) Blessings, guys... Much, much love and thanks to you all for doing what your heart's are having you do there at offthelefteye! Wow. ONE of these days I hopefully (!!!) will get to sit and talk with someone there, over coffee or dinner, and have wonderful, amazing, fulfilling, just plain good conversation... and life-love sharing! :) I stay wowed!! And I could ponder, and talk, and blab about it all day! It's our very Life!
Steve, I so enjoyed reading your train of thoughts here, you touched on a lot I have thought about as well! Your Uncle Dave sounds clairvoyant, and I love hearing Swedenborg's ideas confirmed by other sources, either individuals or even other religions that have such similar threads of narrative - to me this just shows that the truth is really intuitive, because God is within, so why wouldn't we all have some sense innately of what is true and real? Your cat is a spiritual being, not to the extent you are, but Swedenborg wrote that animals do have souls and an afterlife, they just don't undergo the spiritual struggles of humans (that's probably why we love them so much). Check out, "Are There Animals in the Afterlife?" th-cam.com/video/hK_DW5KTh5I/w-d-xo.html As for everything being of God and what is the nature of everything...if you haven't seen Curtis's talk "The Why is Everything: A Cellular Blueprint for Life" you should, I think you'd love this episode: th-cam.com/video/B9We89GJVzs/w-d-xo.html I can't speak to the spiritual nature of a mug, but it and the parts that make it couldn't exist without God, and Swedenborg wrote that everything has a correspondences. So what does a mug really mean? I don't know. I'm sure grateful we have them. Hope you enjoy those episodes, thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I've had the same thoughts about animals, even atoms, and their connection to the spirit world. The idea that Curtis mentioned that our physical form is brought about by our soul, which I agree with, should also apply to animals, plants and minerals. They're somehow manifestations of "soul" at some level. Just because we can't understand it doesn't mean it's not real. I like to garden. Right now I'm thinking about tomatoes, squash, okra, etc. which only exist in my mind, but I have the seeds with all the potential of producing what's in my mind. Maybe the universe is like an endless garden in the Mind of God. The seeds have been planted and the fruit will grow over time. People experiencing NDE's often meet their dead pets who are waiting for them. Maybe Uncle Dave is looking after your deceased pets. He sounds like he was a deep thinker.
One last question for now wanted to know what you think 🤔 do you absolutely have to love every single angel 😇 and good spirit, what if you do not resonate with one or more spirits and or angels will you live in a different heavenly community and in that heavenly community hopefully you will resonate strongly with every Angel quote unquote in that heavenly community !
Great question, The Cube! Yes, we do need to work hard to love everyone. But, it is SO hard for us to love absolutely everyone! Luckily, it's not hard for God. So when we feel we cannot muster up that kind of love for others, we ask God for help, and God will provide compassion where we fail. However, this does not mean you have to hang out with everyone, and be best friends with everyone. I think it can be as simple as appreciating every person's individuality, respecting that they have their own journey and they may be at a very different place than you, and wishing them all the best, sincerely. You can still set your boundaries and appreciate the special folks who feel like kindred spirits to you! Does that make sense? See this episode too: "Should You Love Everyone The Same?" th-cam.com/video/zTLvlfZ672E/w-d-xo.html
My previous beloved cats transitioned a couple of years ago after 16/17 years of giving me such joy. They transitioned a year apart. My wonderful Abyssinian, Channing knew I would be so fragile and heartbroken that I am convinced they sent my new kitten, Boki, now in his terrible twos stage ♥️. Boki is so much like Channing and has Angel’s my other cats color....I’m convinced he is the essence of both their spirits. In this regard, I feel blessed and grateful and remain in a bit of wonder!
offTheLeftEye Thanks. I think so. I am proud that the universe allows me to provide for all of the earth’s inhabitants. They only ask for our love, to be fed and protected. I was raised in a devoutly Catholic home and taught to fear everything including transitioning. Your channel has given me hope and comfort.
@@Bochanable I'm so glad to hear we have brought you hope and comfort! Swedenborg's writings have brought us the same, that's why we feel honored to share them. It's wonderful to know it resonates with you. Thank you for sharing your story with us, Bochanable, and I love what you say that you feel proud to provide for earth's inhabitants! What a beautiful statement, I so agree! God bless.
@@Bochanable Yeah, I was raised Catholic, I see what you're saying. But sometimes I think people take away certain things. What I remember about death and Catholic teaching is, "pray to St. Joseph for a happy death." Purgatory was made to sound horrible but that it depended on your sins, and you got out eventually. Sounds like the world of spirits. You went to hell if you did not repent or become aware of your misdeeds. In some ways it was not that much different from Swedenborg, just far fewer details. The really bad Catholic teaching was that unbaptized babies went to "Limbo", a place of perfect happiness except you never saw God. Even the Catholics realized that was a bad teaching and rationalized what was called "baptism of desire," meaning that if you were good and desired whatever it is Christians are supposed to desire, then you were as good as baptized and could go to heaven anyway, without somebody pouring water over your head. All in all, I very much prefer Swedenborg's world view, but whether they knew it or not, Christians knew they had to get over themselves and move on from some of the really stupid teachings, like Limbo and "sin" of never having water poured over your head.
another question: babies who died very soon, like weeks or days old or even worse, those who died before they were born, where are they? will we see our unborn babies? do they "grow up" there?
Nothing is ever Lost from Heavens Security. What few understand is Heaven is not negotiating with man's understanding nor any books that they might have written, nor does God negotiate with any belief systems. Jesus even said that everything the Father has given to him, nothing of it shall be lost. We are not to fear what man or lets say the "fallen effect" does to us as nothing in existence is able to pluck out anything away from God's Will. (Love) All conception is life. No Life is lost. Death is the only thing in existence that is not included in the process. Life swallows that up. (The Son of perdition) These so called Children of harsh circumstances will be our teachers. They will have an inside the Kingdom ability of understanding that might take awhile for us damaged minds to comprehend in the new beginning.
Yes, as @jim dude says, nothing is lost! @Cecilia, thank you for your question, it's a big one! Swedenborg said that no life is wasted, that all who die go back to the Father and wrote that all children who die will go to heaven, where they are cared for and raised by angels. Thank you for explaining this aspect of the big question, who are we? We are all one and eternal beings. It helps me to deal with the death of my loved ones and my own death too.
Where are we actually when we die ; are we in this world on a different level or are we far away? Also how could there be physical things/objects in a spiritual world? I really enjoyed this just had a high school class mate just actually pass away today she was 48
Hi Shona, I'm sorry for your loss! But happy to know she's in a better place! That's a great question! They exist on a different plane and are not exactly made of the same stuff - but more description is beyond me! One more episode that might help: "What the World of Spirits Is," th-cam.com/video/UQPy8WamcAE/w-d-xo.html and two short clips, "The Essential Connections of the Physical and Spiritual Worlds," th-cam.com/video/Mrx7PRW0l-o/w-d-xo.html and "Correspondences in Physical Creation" th-cam.com/video/0z8CxaQUqzM/w-d-xo.html We have a lot on the afterlife, I hope that's not too overwhelming. Let me know if any of those resonate!
@@shonacole2124 Looking back at your original question, I'll add this: When you die, you'll go to a place that your spirit already is. Your spirit is already somewhere in the afterlife. It is a PLACE, but you are in that place because of how you feel within your own heart and mind. Regarding objects in the afterlife, there are objects there made out of spiritual substance, because spiritual substance is very real, even though it is different than physical substance. Swedenborg saw that in the spiritual world, thoughts and feelings actually turn into objects around a person. So in the afterlife, God's life force can turn your own thoughts and feelings into actual things around you -- a home, nature, clothing, items. All those things will reflect what you care about, and what you think about. Does that help at all?
What a gift to have that kind of vision of her, beela! "Intensified" is a good word for it, from what I understand Swedenborg to be saying. He describes it as "more real" on the other side, and that things are way MORE for our senses than they are in this world. May you continue to have dream visits with your sister!
Gosh, I was rather hoping I wouldn’t look the same! I am old; scripture and Swedenborg say we will be younger, healthy, strong, etc. how and when does all this happen? I certainly want to be recognizable as me but would be very sad to be 70 in heaven!
Kathleen, Swedenborg does indeed say you will be young and healthy again! It seems to happen "right away" in the next life, although time is a very different experience there. Perhaps our episode, "Your Spiritual Body" “Your Spiritual Body” th-cam.com/video/QkCZPdCp0ZY/w-d-xo.html will help answer your question, let me know how that resonates!
Beauty is associated with health, so its a breeding thing, so Earth doesn't run out of people %. There cannot be one set of rules/appearances/settings for the after-life because obviously its infinite and so are its forms. There is a book called 'Living On' by Paul Beard. He talks about 'the first heaven' - a sojourn state that shifts/evolves as we do.
No you will look young you will have your arms and legs your body will be holl all of your body parts you will be able to walk i have been in my spiritual body i am a lot stronger
No physical pain in heaven, Wilma. In our period of "being sorted" (meaning the time immediately after death when we're having a chance to do some real self-discovery, apart from the influences of this world, so that we become clear about who we want to be and where we want to find our eternal home), there may be some spiritual work that is challenging and possibly emotionally painful, as we sort through our life's choices and look at why we did what we did. But we'll no longer have a physical body. Instead, our "spiritual body" will be a reflection of our inner self, and in heaven where everyone participates in mutual love and kindness to others, there's no source of pain!
Great show as always! But, can i please ask. How can recently deceased people/spirits see their own funeral? I thought the earthly and spiritual realms are generally separated... while for average humans and spirits, they would lack the senses to "see" either world? Just in the same way that on a different episode You mention how evil spirits are (thankfully) not (always??) aware of u etc. So... is there a transition realm?
Hi, Johnkeav! Thank you for your question. Yes! There is a "transition realm" (great language!) called the World of Spirits. This is the place we find ourselves in, in the first moments after death. There are a series of experiences we are taken through in order to shed our earthly life, and I suspect this is why some people are made aware of their funeral services. Have you seen our show called News From Heaven? You may enjoy a recent episode called, "There Are Three States That We Pass Through After Death." th-cam.com/video/7oU-swxBtc8/w-d-xo.html Blessings to you, my friend!
Something that I wonder about is wounds to our body, in a general sense. I have had teeth pulled out. I know others have had limbs cut off, or were born without them. I assume limbs will be restored and the paralyzed will be able to move again. But will my teeth be restored? Also, does anyone have answers about weight loss? Are there bodybuilders in heaven?
Hi J L -- Swedenborg doesn't address any of these things specifically, but in general says that we will be restored to a state of vibrant young adulthood. And since our physicality in this world is a completely different level than the spiritual world, those kinds of things will be left behind with the body when we leave it behind. Our SPIRITUAL bodies are a reflection of our spirit, somehow, and our SPIRITS don't have teeth problems, etc. I guess most of the relevant quotes were covered in this episode. Hope you got something out of it, and blessings to you!
@@offTheLeftEye Yes, definitely! I found Swedenborg around June and learning everything has completely changed my life. I'm rethinking my plans for the rest of my life.
Wow, JL that is fabulous to hear. We, too, have found them to be life changing. Do you want to describe some of the changes you are making? I will mention one in my life. Swedenborg talks often about the love of controlling others. It can have a stranglehold on your life. My current prayer/effort is to stop trying to make the people in my life follow my agenda. It is helping me be a calmer person! Here is a video about what heaven is like that you might enjoy. Blessings on your treasure hunt! th-cam.com/video/ZrH-wsVfkSA/w-d-xo.html Take care.
Your focus is on human spirits. I am just wondering if there are spirits from other planets or galaxies in the same Heaven that Earth spirits go to? Or do they go to their own part of the universe?
Hi Tru Lee -- You might be interested in Swedenborg's book called "Other Planets." It's available as a free download or ebook, or a paperback hardcopy, here: swedenborg.com/product/other-planets-nce/ It's a fairly small book, and it talks about Swedenborg's interactions with spirits from other planets. Here's a brief and whimsical re-enactment of some of his encounters: th-cam.com/video/aFbwPD8eCjk/w-d-xo.html. That clip was taken from a longer show called "The Spirituality of Aliens" -- th-cam.com/video/WHKcQE1EbRA/w-d-xo.html. Let us know what you think!
Hi Donald! Yes, you will look like yourself, but younger, and a with a body that won't hurt or age or feel the burden of physical life. Interesting question, Ken. All of us evolve spiritually at different rates, and reflect our inner spirits differently. I have seen innocence in a young child, and in the wrinkled face of an old woman. As this video described, our spiritual bodies will more closely reflect our inner life. I am not aware of a specific age that Swedenborg mentions as being a sweet spot for our spirit. Take care, Ken.
As listened to this, It made me think that the spirit is like the hand and our body is like the puppet that is being moved and worked by the hand. The one thing I wonder though is....... If our spirit is really in control of all we do here..... why do we have grief when losing someone? Our higher level self knows Heaven is beautiful and wonderful..... so why would it let our earthly self feel so shattered about it?
Hi, Janni! Thank you for your presence here, and for your thoughtful reflections! One thought I have is that our spirits are in a process while we're in this natural world. We are living and learning and loving and falling down and getting back up. We are not in a constant state of light. I picture cloud cover in the sky. I know the the sun is up there, but it feels absolutely absent. Have you felt that way before? It's very convincing, isn't it?
That's some amazing evidence of our power to choose, Eileen, if someone who never received love can still choose to be a loving person. The Lord is always inviting us into "heaven" -- into a heavenly mindset while we're still on earth, too. And that means wanting to love others and be kind and helpful to them. We'll all have the chance to heal from our earthly traumas, and then choose who we WANT to be!
What about physical characteristics such as skin color, height, build, and sex organs... will they also be the same? Also, at the moment of death, do our spirit bodies have clothing or are we initially naked?
Justin L, that's a good question. I think you will be clothed or naked depending on what makes YOU feel the most comfortable, I'm not sure there's a hard and fast rule about that. Your physical characteristics, I think, or rather your spiritual characteristics, will probably be very similar to how you looked on earth, but in perfect youth. Hi, Catlady! Yes, an appearance upgrade is what we can expect if that is what our mind reflects! The quality of our love and wisdom will determine what is expressed (and therefore visible) in our face and body!
Curtis, Hi Are You Doing!! I Love This Topic On Will Your Body Looks The Same When You Die!! We Might Look Similar!! But In Ghostly Forms.. In A Beautiful Light Way 🌟 🌟.
Hi there.Im so afraid of losing my physical body.I feel like it’s more real and that my spiritual body will be like some wind or ghost. Please help me understand.
Hi Michie. Your spiritual body, according to Swedenborg, will be similar to your physical body. Like on earth, you will have hands, eyes, legs, etc. But rather than being composed of physical matter, you will be composed of spiritual matter. This means that in the spiritual body, you will be free of disease, pain, even aging - and will feel a lightness and abilities you didn't have on earth, because spiritual substance can behave differently than the physical. Does that make any sense? Check out this episode, "Will Life Be Different When You Die?" th-cam.com/video/u67AUEiaFE0/w-d-xo.html Let me know if that helps or not!
We just discussed this last week at our Arcana Study group at the Virginia Street Church last week. Gender options after death was a tough topic for some. What do you think?
Hi Melissa, yes, that's an interesting and complex discussion. I think it's probably too much to get into here on TH-cam, but the message I get from Swedenborg is that many of the ideas we hold about gender and identity here are tied with the external appearance and our physical body, and do not necessarily reflect the contents of our spirits. I think that anyone who has experienced a complicated relationship with gender in this life will have their struggle resolved in a way that allows them to be who they are and who they want to be, and that whatever helps them become who they truly are will have little to do with the external aspects we often attach to here, but I can't say for sure what that would mean or look like to any individual. I think it's less important for us on earth to find an answer to that question than it is to focus on our spiritual internals, and the states of our hearts, intentions, and wills in this life - those are the only things that will really determine what our spiritual bodies look like. You might like our episode that talks further about this, "Your Spiritual Body," th-cam.com/video/QkCZPdCp0ZY/w-d-xo.html Those are my thoughts. Let me know what you think!
@@offTheLeftEye Thank you! I was trying to express this, I was stumbling about trying to express this, and irritating people to no end. Thank you for expressing so beautifully what I could not.
Great question, Eileen! I haven't had that experience, but maybe you're seeing a reflection of your real spirit, rather than the body you were given by physical heredity.....
So. As noted on a previous video I have reservations about Swedenborg, notwithstanding my belief he is honest and intellectually consistent. If "eternity" is so great for our immortal being, then to ask a big question: why is it necessary to be born in the physical universe at all ? Is it a case that it's like the man who bangs his head against the wall and draws great pleasure from then stopping ? :-)

Karin, I just wanted to say I’m very appreciative that you have taken your time to answer all comments (always answer mine❤️) and I wanted to just ask this question, if you have any insight on this matter. I get through the loss of my soulmate each day with the help of your videos. Its always the hardest at night and in the morning. So many thoughts flow through my mind and all I can do is breakdown and then eventually breathe and smile because I know hes watching me. I wanted to know, he passed at the age of 21 and I’m still here. I’m not sure for how long but I’ll be waiting to reunite with him. Depending on what age I cross over, will we have the age gap cause any type of problem in our union? Thank you in advance❤️
Hi, Nigina, this is Karin. The death of a soul mate is so excruciatingly painful! It takes a long time to heal, and yes, I can relate to the fact that you feel most vulnerable at night and in the morning. I'm so glad that after having a good cry, you can breathe and smile and remember that he is with you, and aware of you. Those tears are necessary sometimes, but the smiles are important, too. Please do not worry one bit about any age difference! As DJ L indicated, there will be no age difference when you cross into the afterlife someday. In the afterlife, there are no physical issues of time, and everyone returns to young adulthood. So you and he will indeed feel the same age! Your love is keeping you connected, and your spirits together in harmony.
Sorry this happened to you girl ! I know the pain all too well my soulmate was taken from me less than two months ago and I can’t wait for us to reunite again

Marisa, I am so sorry for your loss. That sounds really hard. I am glad that your brother's suffering is over. He most definitely has legs and functioning kidneys - his spirit is in perfect condition and health! It is wonderful that he can use his body again, and better than he ever could on earth! I think that we will be young again , around 25 years old body. But the mind will remember everything.I look at my parents old pictures when they were young. So will recognize them.
Swedenborg agrees, Robert! We will find ourselves in the springtime of our lives. 25 sounds about right! Our exteriors will reflect our interiors, so the age that most embodies our deepest character will be visible to others, and to ourselves. When the time comes, may your reunion with your parents in the spiritual world be full of youth's abundant joy, color, and energy!
I wonder if the vampire concept started this way..they live eternal lives..they never change in appearance..maybe a lot of movies ideas came from our spiritual journey as does robots etc...I know ppl say I know I am old but I don't feel old..so our spirit keeps us..young at heart..just a thought.
I do think many ideas that float around in human society have roots deep in ancient cultures, which were very connected to heaven, Donna. And yes, bodies age and decay, but spirits keep growing in vitality. Swedenborg witnessed that we all become young again on the other side!
I dont want the body i die with, some people are old when they die and have dementia... I want to be young in my next life and be renewed in spirit and mind...can that be?
Absolutely, Eileen! Our physical body does not go with us, and our spirit is forever young! We will be relieved of the burdens of our physical bodies when we cross over. Swedenborg says that we grow eternally in wisdom, but that everyone in heaven is in a perpetual state of youthfulness and vitality. You can certainly look forward to renewal ahead!
Yes, Elmira, absolutely! Swedenborg's account of the spiritual world is stunningly hopeful on this front. He says that, when we cross into the spiritual world, we have only to think of our loved one (who has passed before us), and he appears in our presence, in the flesh! Do angels appear to people today? I have heard some say that they have talked with Michael the arch angel. is this happening? what is an arch angel? are they different than regular angels?
Hi Patrick LoneAlphaWolf - great question! Swedenborg doesn't seem to talk about arch angels, but I know there are passages where he writes that angels who are called Gabriel or Michael in the Bible are often just representatives of a society named Gabriel or Michael, and so they operate on behalf of a certain angel community, but aren't necessarily these specific angels. You can learn more about angels here, "Were Angels and Demons Once Human?" th-cam.com/video/8HWqUZSOcNI/w-d-xo.html People DO seem to hear from angels, and I'm linking a couple clips below that go into more detail about this. Check out our short clip, "Angel Visits Grieving Father," th-cam.com/video/f0O30exC05Y/w-d-xo.html for an example of that.
Does Swedenborg specify that there are two specific genders of male and female in afterlife?so many religious traditions say otherwise-your thoughts and if so can we change genders in the after world if desired or needed for learning purposes acccording to Swedenborg?
I realize that there are different beliefs about gender after death, so everyone must decide for themselves what makes the most sense. Swedenborg definitely reports male and female genders in the afterlife. Writing back in the 1700s, he was not addressing the questions people today have about gender identity. But putting together different things that Swedenborg learned and wrote, I believe that when people cross over into the afterlife, they will finally get more clarity about their true self. Here in the physical realm, and lot of imbalances can happen while a physical body is developing in the womb, and people do not necessarily feel aligned in spirit with the way their physical body turned out. But the physical body is not the true self. It is just a vehicle to use while on earth, and everything will become much more clear in the afterlife, where the body will truly reflect the person's mind and heart!
Things work differently for animals, but there are animals in the afterlife. Please take a look at this episode! th-cam.com/video/hK_DW5KTh5I/w-d-xo.html

That does seem to be a common experience with people who have this kind of awareness, Eileen -- the words angels say are short and sweet! Fascinating moment for you, there!
Hint: My body doesn't look like it used to, but I still have a similar body adapted to my new role as an old man. I'm getting better and better at playing this role. Shakespeare seems to have had an understanding of the reality of life, with the world being a stage and we're the performers. Our bodies are our costumes which we discard when our part in the play ends. Then we dawn a fresh new costume for our new act in the next world. I found it interesting how Swedenborg reported that hypocrites have a harder time in the next world because of their habit, or skill, of pretending to be something they're not. I wonder if this is also true of professional actors? Sometimes people describe the soul as being "in" the body, as if the body is a container into which the soul is poured. Baha'u'llah used the metaphor of the body being more like a mirror appearing to contain the sun, or soul, but actually existing in a different reality and only being reflected in the mirror. Consciousness and mind are aspects of the soul, not the brain or body, and always exist in the spiritual realm and are only manifested in the physical world through this "connection" and control of the human body. And as you described, the form of the human body is brought about by the soul and not visa versa. So it should be expected that our "form" would be the same when we leave our physical body. My feeling is that Swedenborg was describing the materialism of the people he experienced in Europe, the men of the enlightenment and science. This was not the mentality of the traditional cultures of Africa, Asia or the Americas at that time. Today this materialism has spread around the world. Traditional cultures accepted the world of spirit as real and meaningful. "You have to have form to have function." This is not only true for individual souls, but for groups of souls, or society. The good functioning of society requires an appropriate social "form". Just watching the news brings home the reality of the dysfunctional forms of society. And it seems that this social dysfunction reflects back on us as souls. Did Swedenborg ever address this? Here is an answer Baha'u'llah gave to a question concerning the soul after death. So much of his answer is consistent with Swedenborg. Baha'u'llah mentions the connection between souls of the next world and progress in this material world, and I don't know if Swedenborg mentions this. I'm curious as to how much of Baha'u'llah's comments are consistent with Swedenborg, if you have time? "And now concerning thy question regarding the soul of man and its survival after death. Know thou of a truth that the soul, after its separation from the body, will continue to progress until it attaineth the presence of God, in a state and condition which neither the revolution of ages and centuries, nor the changes and chances of this world, can alter. It will endure as long as the Kingdom of God, His sovereignty, His dominion and power will endure. It will manifest the signs of God and His attributes, and will reveal His loving kindness and bounty. The movement of My Pen is stilled when it attempteth to befittingly describe the loftiness and glory of so exalted a station. The honor with which the Hand of Mercy will invest the soul is such as no tongue can adequately reveal, nor any other earthly agency describe. Blessed is the soul which, at the hour of its separation from the body, is sanctified from the vain imaginings of the peoples of the world. Such a soul liveth and moveth in accordance with the Will of its Creator, and entereth the all-highest Paradise. The Maids of Heaven, inmates of the loftiest mansions, will circle around it, and the Prophets of God and His chosen ones will seek its companionship. With them that soul will freely converse, and will recount unto them that which it hath been made to endure in the path of God, the Lord of all worlds. If any man be told that which hath been ordained for such a soul in the worlds of God, the Lord of the throne on high and of earth below, his whole being will instantly blaze out in his great longing to attain that most exalted, that sanctified and resplendent station.... The nature of the soul after death can never be described, nor is it meet and permissible to reveal its whole character to the eyes of men. The Prophets and Messengers of God have been sent down for the sole purpose of guiding mankind to the straight Path of Truth. The purpose underlying Their revelation hath been to educate all men, that they may, at the hour of death, ascend, in the utmost purity and sanctity and with absolute detachment, to the throne of the Most High. The light which these souls radiate is responsible for the progress of the world and the advancement of its peoples. They are like unto leaven which leaveneth the world of being, and constitute the animating force through which the arts and wonders of the world are made manifest. Through them the clouds rain their bounty upon men, and the earth bringeth forth its fruits. All things must needs have a cause, a motive power, an animating principle. These souls and symbols of detachment have provided, and will continue to provide, the supreme moving impulse in the world of being. The world beyond is as different from this world as this world is different from that of the child while still in the womb of its mother. When the soul attaineth the Presence of God, it will assume the form that best befitteth its immortality and is worthy of its celestial habitation. Such an existence is a contingent and not an absolute existence, inasmuch as the former is preceded by a cause, whilst the latter is independent thereof. Absolute existence is strictly confined to God, exalted be His glory. Well is it with them that apprehend this truth. Wert thou to ponder in thine heart the behavior of the Prophets of God thou wouldst assuredly and readily testify that there must needs be other worlds besides this world. The majority of the truly wise and learned have, throughout the ages, as it hath been recorded by the Pen of Glory in the Tablet of Wisdom, borne witness to the truth of that which the holy Writ of God hath revealed. Even the materialists have testified in their writings to the wisdom of these divinely-appointed Messengers, and have regarded the references made by the Prophets to Paradise, to hell fire, to future reward and punishment, to have been actuated by a desire to educate and uplift the souls of men. Consider, therefore, how the generality of mankind, whatever their beliefs or theories, have recognized the excellence, and admitted the superiority, of these Prophets of God. These Gems of Detachment are acclaimed by some as the embodiments of wisdom, while others believe them to be the mouthpiece of God Himself. How could such Souls have consented to surrender themselves unto their enemies if they believed all the worlds of God to have been reduced to this earthly life? Would they have willingly suffered such afflictions and torments as no man hath ever experienced or witnessed? "
I love that perspective of our bodies being like costumes suited to a certain stage of the story. When we're done with this earthly "act", we'll start the next stage in a new form/"costume" that is suited to the next environment, reflecting the next phase of our spiritual development and state of mind. Swedenborg definitely uses the analogy of a mirror to describe how the physical relates the the spiritual. It is so true that the causes lie in the spiritual realm rather than in the physical -- not meaning our physical bodies are exact reflections of our spirits, but that they reflect many things going on the spiritual level, both personally and collectively. You wrote "'You have to have form to have function.' This is not only true for individual souls, but for groups of souls, or society." Yes, Swedenborg wrote that whole groups of people are also organized in the human form, either in a way that is functioning well, or not functioning well. The purposes, motivations and level of wisdom get reflected in the form, and that's something that needs to keep evolving as we get our collective purposes back into what Swedenborg calls "the Divine Design," God's desire for everyone to be loved, respected and cared for. Thanks for that quote from Baha'u'llah! In it, I see parallels with Swedenborg's concept that God is the ultimate Human, and our human form in spirit will keep getting closer to the ideal the more we open up to our Creator's divine purposes, love and wisdom.
@@offTheLeftEye Thanks for the great reply! The whole point, it seems to me, is to produce people of good character, high morals, empathetic, and motivated to work for the good of humanity. How hard could it be? One big problem is the culture people are now born into. We, including our children, have to be a part of society in order to affect it. At the same time, it's affecting us to some degree. People like you who have chosen to be influenced by Swedenborg give me encouragement that humanity is moving in the right direction. People do want to do the right thing if they can see through the haze of a confusing society. Hopelessness is one of the big problems facing so many who feel alone in a world of meaninglessness. Thanks to all of you who are putting so much effort into truly meaningful and insightful programming.
Hi Donald! I think your body will be whatever reflects YOU the most, so if that's the one you have now, then that's what you'll have! Thanks so much for watching and commenting, friend!
We are whats left of Jesus here on earth. When our time given here expires we will be where he is at to that location. We are Jesus (The Body) to where ever we journey. If we need a Jesus personal Form, that form will be provided for our eye to God's eye. Touch to touch /sight to sight. Go into the Universe and proclaim the Good of God. We take the body we have personally been provided to touch the creation. This creation will touch us back. This is what a union with God is.....Good expressing Good. Worship with God is more about doing than speaking. Yet both are always going to be present. If we want to give Jesus a big hug, he will in fact appear. At some point he will tell us all that he feels a bit better in warmth when its expressed to the neighbor also.

Well, Reaper Grim, I think your body will look like your SPIRIT looks, so since your spirit is YOU, you will still look like you! Your physical appearance on earth was created primarily by the genes of your ancestors, but your spiritual body is a perfect reflection of your spirit -- what you love, what you believe, your attitude toward other people, etc. But you WILL have the experience of having a body on the next level. We're not just wisps of cloud or formless consciousness. Does that begin to answer your question? What did you take away from this video?
@@reapergrim1611 Swedenborg consistently reported seeing people in the afterlife. In hell, they tended to resemble their desires, so that their appearance would be twisted by greed, etc. In heaven, angels would appear to be radiant, utterly and overwhelmingly beautiful, which reflects the depth of their love and the power of that love from the Divine, flowing through them. It may be possible that we can choose a different form, but it's just not something Swedenborg mentioned. What he does say is that what we look like represents who we are, and will feel just right to us based on what we love. I hope that's useful!
If this felt unsettling, Thomas, then you have misunderstood what we were saying! There is no need to worry, because in the afterlife, you will have a sense of homecoming that will feel wonderful. See our episode "You Will Find Somewhere You Belong" th-cam.com/video/_nZR-GKzLiY/w-d-xo.html
Great question, Andre! My guess is that your surgery will not come with you, but it won't matter - because your looks in heaven are entirely dependent on who you are. The more loving, kind, and selfless you are and your choices were, the more beautiful you will be! So you won't need any plastic surgery! Check out, "How to Make Your Spirit Beautiful," for more on that: th-cam.com/video/Ud3cpCG6G5c/w-d-xo.html and let me know what you think!
I'm glad you believe in the spiritual body that is indicated in the Bible! Swedenborg witnessed that in the afterlife, people who chose to immerse themselves in evil have spiritual bodies that look ugly and monstrous, while people who have opened up to love of God and the neighbor have spiritual bodies that are beautiful and radiant.
Hi Loxie......this Physical house of our Lord is more a water suit than a meat suit. We are encased in water and air. Yet there is a small amount of what we term as meat. This water is very effected by tones and vibrates to its surroundings.
It might depend on the angel! Check out these episodes that talk more about your body in the next life: “Your Spiritual Body” th-cam.com/video/QkCZPdCp0ZY/w-d-xo.html “Will Your Body Look the Same When You Die?” th-cam.com/video/JX9BaMr7UyU/w-d-xo.html
@@offTheLeftEye Since space-time-matter is virtual, you have gravity if you want it and zero-gravity if you don't. Gravity is nothing more than the curvature of space (virtual space, in this case). Of course, you'll be deeply connected to your spouse and neighbors, so their wishes will count as well. Maybe your particular community will have a "let's fly day" and a "let's stay grounded day". All without quarreling - and if there are quarrels, the community will split - without animosity or rancor.
Mary, I'll add that you are correct in that Swedenborg learned angels are in the human form, which does not include wings, but angels can sometimes appear as if they have wings because of the representation. In art, I think that representation comes through, but the art can be understood as figurative. See our short clip "Angel Visits Grieving Father" th-cam.com/video/f0O30exC05Y/w-d-xo.html
I had a angel talk to me about my son and told me .My son needs me! But the first time I tried to help him he used me.And too evident to see . Other wise I had my wife point this out to me.Which is his stepmom.I knew this came from his mother.Same way his mom use me.I always wanted to know his mom but not act like her..Oh well some day he will see what right and wrong.
That sounds like some painful interaction, Robert -- I'm so sorry. Yes, I hope that "some day" -- which may be in the next life -- all these things will be made clear, you'll all come to have a deeper understanding of each other and therefore a warmer heart for each other, and there will be some kind of resolution. Blessings to you!
Thank you, OTLE. xx

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, love and blessings 😇🌺🙏. From Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii.

Sublime is an excellent word!
I think I get it, but, I need to hear it,

Is the driving force behind the entire universe goodness and truth ?? Amen 🙏🏻
According to what Swedenborg learned, the answer is YES, Michael. Perhaps more accurately, Divine Love and Wisdom! Swedenborg uses goodness/love and truth/wisdom almost interchangeably sometimes. The two driving forces!
Yes it is, Cube. Love fuels us all.
I really like the way you guys break it down from the physical to the spiritual body!

It's very true my Mother talked about life in heaven before she died and even said she was seeing the Spirit of life and death fighting at that moment. Mum Rip and rise in Glory

I'm so glad you got to witness your Mother at that stage -- so powerful to observe first hand. Glad to have you here, Betty!
Sweet!
True very comforting

Another great episode! Cant wait for the next one
Very very interesting
Glad you found it so, Shirdimajid!

Great episode! Very helpful information.
True they are God sent.
Our "Thought for the Day" under our Community tab is this quote from Swedenborg:
"Perception is an inner feeling for whether a thing is true and good -- a feeling that can come only from the Lord."
Blessings to you!
My dad called my name after passing away from cancer two years ago. Heaven is real
What a gift in your life, Travis, to have had that experience! And the resulting conviction about the reality of life after death must be a blessing, too.
Well done as usual !!!

Indeed so true, there is so much resistance to change.
Thanks for sharing your experience of it, Ryan! It's something to look forward to, to have the vibrant energy of a young adult again!
This should be a good episode 🌸👍🏻❤️
Glad you are looking forward to it!

I call it a realm because I love truth.
Do we retain our five senses like touch if we aren’t flesh? I love hugs and giving them and hope it will still be possible.

I have often wondered, since my Uncle Dave passed from this life 2 years ago, if my coming to discover OffTheLeftEye, and thus Swedenborg, was not due to his somehow leading me to that moment, after his passing.
Blessings, guys...
As for everything being of God and what is the nature of everything...if you haven't seen Curtis's talk "The Why is Everything: A Cellular Blueprint for Life" you should, I think you'd love this episode: th-cam.com/video/B9We89GJVzs/w-d-xo.html
I can't speak to the spiritual nature of a mug, but it and the parts that make it couldn't exist without God, and Swedenborg wrote that everything has a correspondences.
Awesome observations!

My previous beloved cats transitioned a couple of years ago after 16/17 years of giving me such joy. They transitioned a year apart. My wonderful Abyssinian, Channing knew I would be so fragile and heartbroken that I am convinced they sent my new kitten, Boki, now in his terrible twos stage ♥️. Boki is so much like Channing and has Angel’s my other cats color....I’m convinced he is the essence of both their spirits. In this regard, I feel blessed and grateful and remain in a bit of wonder!
So sweet, Bochanable. You're blessed to have such a special relationship with your cats!
offTheLeftEye Thanks.
(Love)
All conception is life. No Life is lost. Death is the only thing in existence that is not included in the process. Life swallows that up. (The Son of perdition)
These so called Children of harsh circumstances will be our teachers. They will have an inside the Kingdom ability of understanding that might take awhile for us damaged minds to comprehend in the new beginning.
Yes, as @jim dude says, nothing is lost! @Cecilia, thank you for your question, it's a big one! @@offTheLeftEye ok thankyou
@@offTheLeftEye ok listened to it again there is no place its within us?
@@offTheLeftEye yes this does help I'm going to read it a couple of times thankyou once again. I just want to understand
Ive seen my sister in dreams. She was always very ethereal and beautiful but its intensified on the other side.
What a gift to have that kind of vision of her, beela! "Intensified" is a good word for it, from what I understand Swedenborg to be saying. He describes it as "more real" on the other side, and that things are way MORE for our senses than they are in this world. May you continue to have dream visits with your sister!

You're welcome, Dee! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for joining the conversation, Unified Feild. Interesting things to ponder!
No you will look young you will have your arms and legs your body will be holl all of your body parts you will be able to walk i have been in my spiritual body i am a lot stronger
Right you are, Kenny!

How about pain, will we still feel pain after death?
No more pain no more sorrow
@@bettyabote4229 For the former things have passed away...... Revelation 21.

Did Swedenborg ever speculate an age when our body looks most like our spirit?
It's very convincing, isn't it?
janni roberts Great question 🕊
It felt really real
Is this why sometimes when i look in the mirror, it doesn't reflect what i think I'm supposed to look like? 🤔
Maybe, Rell. That's a very interesting thought, I never considered it! What do you think it means what that happens?
@@offTheLeftEye maybe our outward appearance doesn't reflect what our spiritual self looks like 🤷♀️
@@Rellyjayne I agree with that!
What if you were never loved growing up, but can give love...how will we be in spirit then...
Check out this episode, "Will Life Be Different When You Die?" th-cam.com/video/u67AUEiaFE0/w-d-xo.html
Let me know if that helps or not!
You might like our episode that talks further about this, "Your Spiritual Body," th-cam.com/video/QkCZPdCp0ZY/w-d-xo.html

I think we should remove the word death and replace with transitioning always as that is the truth.

That's one idea about it, Ababamarcelous. Some people might say that all energy is just the spiritual reality that is God's Love and Wisdom.

Yes, Elmira, absolutely! Swedenborg's account of the spiritual world is stunningly hopeful on this front. You can learn more about angels here, "Were Angels and Demons Once Human?" th-cam.com/video/8HWqUZSOcNI/w-d-xo.html
People DO seem to hear from angels, and I'm linking a couple clips below that go into more detail about this.
What about animals after death? Does the same apply to them? Also, are there animal angels?

Where did Jesus go when He Resurrected from the dead? And does He still have His Resurrected Body?

Let me know how this resonates!
So this means my body will look like this when i head to Valhalla and when i keep transend to the next level
The reason i ask this cuz on one of ur posts was do u have the same body when u go in the after life
Well, Reaper Grim, I think your body will look like your SPIRIT looks, so since your spirit is YOU, you will still look like you!
Would do u think ur spirit or my spirt could take form of shape it chooses i think thats s pretty interesting question
This seems so unsettling to me, being a introvert and to bring that to the afterlife for ever I'm going to be one lonely soul.

Will we age in Heaven
Donna, our bodies will stay at the wonderful age of youth, vibrant and strong. It will serve us well.
If you get plastic surgery and you die will your plastic surgery stay or will you go back to how your body originally looked?
Great question, Andre! My guess is that your surgery will not come with you, but it won't matter - because your looks in heaven are entirely dependent on who you are.
The more loving, kind, and selfless you are and your choices were, the more beautiful you will be! So you won't need any plastic surgery!

We will have a glorified body just like Jesus 😊. But I do not know for those who live an evil life, or will, while on earth.
This "meatsuit" is merely encasing the Real Me as I learn & grow for a short time period here on this backwater of a planet!! ;-)

Mary, I'll add that you are correct in that Swedenborg learned angels are in the human form, which does not include wings, but angels can sometimes appear as if they have wings because of the representation.
