Dan, you are not alone and I can assure you there are dozens who do not understand the stories of many of the DUST shorts but are too shy to say so. I, too, have to depend on the comments to understand many of the shorts.
When all the comments pretending to understand a plot that isn't there are paying out "Emperor's New Clothes" grade strokes and the rest of the comments are "WTF is this about?" it's a good bet you're not missing anything because the writing is shit. The lesson: Never trust a fat guy in an apocalypse, especially one who tests your armor while you're wearing it.
Excellent! Very creative. I thought the story was great. The first guy stumbled onto the other guy who had created stuff that would heal the world. Then bad guys took it. At the end they were on their way to get it back. I thought the unicycle was great, and jet powered. Lol. For a freakin 10 minute film, it had a lot. Thanks!

This film's creator left just enough out in the right proportions to get me very interested to know when more is coming, or if this has been picked up by any legit producers for a series or feature length film. Suspension of disbelief was effortless and totally unnoticed. Break a leg!
That was awesome. While it's structured more as a trailer for a movie, it did have a story arc. The imagination going into this and effects are phenomenal. To be picky it could use a little editorial tweaking from pacing (unicycle ride was too long) and a more powerful voice for the narrator intro would help. Overall I loved the dialog, acting and story (minus the name reveal with a contrived laugh at the end).

I've got an audio processing disorder (interpreting, not hearing, so just turning up the volume doesn't make it any better, quite the opposite in fact because then it's just distorted and physically painful - the problem is definitely *not* my ears) and human voices in particular are often almost unintelligible. I'm only about a minute and a half in and already had to rewind five times to try and catch what was being said, especially since the guy narrating seems somehow extra blurry to me, like, more than just my usual thing where everyone sounds like the adults in the old Peanuts cartoons.

Spot on, that's exactly what I thought, a sort of parody of the 80s sci-fi genre (especially the title scene). If anything, seems somewhat like a hybrid, parody version of the original Mad Max (1979). Most of the people here were far from even becoming alive back then, so maybe it all seems so "original" and so on.
Man does that beginning need to be tightened down unless there is some kind of infodump planned on top of it. Remember rule 1 of story telling; if it isn’t advancing the plot or exciting on its own, no one cares! Otherwise interesting concept, and possible reimagining of a road warrior story.
This was a good one, love to see a full feature film. I love the fact of how good the film is, and it proves that a movie doesn't have to contain foul language or sensuality to be as good as a blockbuster. Nice work.

Very nice, especially visually, but two things to say: Either you really built a working motorunicycle or your cgi person is brilliant. Either way, great scene. Second thing is, credit to the actors there - both had a really good natural flow, absolutely smooth performances. Good work, thanks for doing it!
Oh, the opening scene! Couldn't help but think of unicycle riding Darth Vader with flaming bagpipes, keep Portland weird :) Thank you, Dust and the creators of Aftermath for that unintended smile. The short itself was a good intro, and the characters seemed to have good chemistry.
Definitely a Tatooine feel but having recently watched "Raya and the last dragon" with the kids I also couldn't help but think of that first scene after the time skip where the protagonist is riding her weird pillbug/armadillo/hamster thing.
That was FUN!! Ol’ boy giving me a heavy K. Smith vibe. Other actor? More “Highlander-esque”- just… hilarious w/ nasty aliens post-planetary apocalypse “new buds” travel flick! Whoever dreamed it up has a great sense of style & humour! Just as it got going?? Leaves us wanting WAY MORE!! Bravo 👏👏👏
