    On those iridium NGK's there's a coating on those plugs so that grease is not necessary. Thus why it says that on the NGK spark plug instructions. I'm assuming Honda says to use it as a general rule for anyone looking at their directions and using other compatible plugs.

    Thanks I have replaced the plugs on my 04 Element twice. Good tip on the dialectic grease. Didn’t know about the magnetic spark plug socket. Mine has a little suction ring inside the socket and I also keep a magnet just in case. Thanks for the video.

    I'm a big fan of copper based anti-seize. Practice and theory agree very well.

    I don’t normally use a torque wrench too for plugs, just by feel…but using the torque wrench once in while helps to recalibrate the elbow 😂. Nice informative vid BigDog!

    What type of antiseize should you use? Copper, etc? I hope to get compressed air in my garage but I’m getting up there. Thanks for your video.

    I love my torque wrench! Takes the guesswork out of it. Did I get it tight enough? Did I overtighen it? Just put the proper torque on it, and no worries....

    My personal controversy is with the dialectic grease on the end of the spark plug boot, that's an insulator so you don't want to get any inside where it could get on to the top of the spark plug. I do put a thin film on the bottom of the boot to prevent arcing.

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some people don't like doing it that way and I get it. I put it there mostly to help stop it from seizing boot/coil to plug. If someone was concerned they could use something to spread it out on inside, but I have not seen any issues using it the way I do. In my opinion there is too much current running though it for a small film to make a difference if it did end up near tip. Thanks for the input!

    When should I replace my sparkplugs? My accord is 2012, 2.4 cylinder with 115,000km. (71,000 miles)

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honda says 110,000 miles for Laser Iridium plugs, I like to change them in the 90,000-100,000 mile range.

      @@BigDog50001 I got a new engine with 30k miles on it and added 60k miles before I noticed my gas mileage drop, so I would agree on 90,000.
