Glad to see all the 8th gen civic content. I recently acquired a 2006 5spd with a cracked engine block. I picked up a low mileage JDM R18 with good compression and unbelievably clean under the valve cover. Took the time to invest in many various replacement parts/fluids while the engine was out, new clutch, etc. considered it cheap insurance that I wouldn’t have to worry later and tackle these things with the engine in place. The result is fabulous - it feels like a brand new car. Thanks for taking to time to video these procedures.

Great video, about to do my plugs. I've never changed them before and am nervous that I'm going to break them off in the block because they are the original plugs on 120,000mi. Your video gave me confidence.

Good Job Big Dog! Buying an 09 Civic this weekend and I'll be going over it with a fine tooth comb using these videos.

    Nice.
The reason ngk says not to use anti seize is mostly because it changes to torque settings .
None of the original spark plugs that I've changed have had anti seize on them so I never bother to put it on it. But I highly doubt it matters as long as you don't over torque them

It is worth mentioning that you should check with a Honda dealer parts department on what exact plugs your vehicle takes. This is done by using the VIN number when speaking with the parts department. I say this because my Honda Accord takes the NGK IZFR6K-13 plugs gapped at .052 and not the NGK IZFR6K-11 plugs, gapped at .044. This is because my car is a SULEV and PZEV model. The car and emission system and tuning were designed for this plug. Without using the VIN to check I would not have realized this because NGK's site lists both plugs for a 2007 Honda Accord.

@@BigDog50001before changing the plugs is it best to do this on a cold vehicle or drive a little and let it sit a few hours and then do the plug service?

Big Dog, I need some help! Trying to keep my 2006 civic running. The mechanic did an engine swap(he said it needed to be done).
Now about 1 month after repair its throwing P0302,P0303,P0300 codes. He's talking replacing plugs and coil packs. I am wondering does a new engine communicate with the ECM the same way.. is there reprogramming that needs to be done? Love your channel and keep fixing those Hondas!

I just replaced these same exact spark plugs. Will you hear when the washer engages, or is there no way to tell? I hope I tightened them correctly

Do you think it’s necessary to get the Honda OEM plugs or just ensure it’s the right part number and buy NGK or Denso whichever you need?

I literally have the same box and they are not gapped, so if they are not gapped and I cannot adjust the gap myself do I just send them back?

Quick question I have an 04 accord k24 with 150k miles that has been burning oil. I did full tune up checked plugs again they are bone dry and no smoke or leaks on block or ground? I’ve changed Vtec solenoid oil pressure sensor below it and it’s using under a quart a week ? Any recommendations?
