    So I got a 2007 Honda trx400ex and I was just curious on what should I do to make it the ultimate trail machine. I ride in the woods open roads/SxS trails and even the dunes. I have an aftermarket slip on and nerf bars too.

    Are you going to upload the whole 400ex build? This quad just turned up again in Indiana.

      Really? I wasn't planning on it in the near future, but there is no reason we cant. If you have any questions about the build, please feel free to ask. We will try and get the build back up in the next week or so.

    Hey so what’s the difference between 2+1 beside the wider part do the help the quad not flip over what do the arms do o guess is what I’m asking

      With A-Arms listed as +2+1, --2+1, etc. the first number is added or subtracted width. Some riders use narrower A-Arms for XC racing. The second number indicates whether the front wheels have been moved forward or not. Moving the front wheels forward increases the wheelbase, which improves high-speed straight line stability while slightly improving rear wheel traction. Extending the swingarm to improve high speed stability will reduce rear wheel traction, something that may not be beneficial for XC or MX Racing. Drag racers and duners often use long seingarms to help keep more weight on the front end to reduce unwanted wheelies. Moving the front wheels forward wont have the same affect of holding the front end down like an extended swingarm. Your model of ATV, type of riding you do and even your height will dictate your ideal setup. Feel free to follow up if this doesn't answer your question.

    Where can i buy jd arms from? Will they fit a 2008 honda trx400ex and bolt right in or do i have to modify the frame

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can buy these from JD Performance at jdperformance.net. They will fit your 2008 and there is no need to modify your frame.

      Our's did not have adjustable caster so they came in the MX setting. Which do you prefer?

    Do you think you could try a weird build? Maybe use a snowmobile engine and make something ridiculous?

    you are so lucky you have legal places to ride. I am selling my 400ex because there is no legal places to ride in Massachusetts.

      +Ronald Tartaglia We typically travel at least an hour to test.

      +ATVonDemand I would have to travel out of state, maybe 5 hours north. and register in that state. Massachusetts is communist.

    I bought a set of jd a arms a couple months ago. Upon installation i realized my stock mounting bolts wouldn't fit through the sleeves in the bushings. called jd performance, dave told me what size the stock bolts should be and the inside measurements of his sleeves. took them to work to measure them, my bolts were exactly what he said they should be. the sleeves were .006 of an inch smaller than he said they were, .003" smaller than the bolts. sent him pics of the measurements, he said he'd send me new sleeves. that was three weeks ago and still no sleeves. wish i would have gotten lonestar a arms instead. very disappointed

      I'm sorry to hear your having this problem. We didn't have this issue when we installed them on our machine a few years back. Have you tried reaching out to JD since he said he would send you new bolts and sleeves? Having spent 10 years as a consumer and another 13 working publications I can tell you that these are small companies. They sometimes get behind, and things sometimes slip through the cracks, even at Lone Star, No excuses though. We'll see if we can help you out.

      Hi Tim, I am sorry you feel that way. When you first contacted us on April 21st, I called and spoke with you after you emailed pictures. We agreed the sleeves were the issue and I had Debbie send them out the very next day. Unfortunately she sent them regular mail without tracking. You did not contact me again until yesterday May 11th to tell me you had not received them. Upon hearing this we immediately packaged up another set (too late to send out yesterday) and provided you a tracking number. I hope that once you receive the new sleeves you will be happier in your purchase. In twenty years of this business, we have never had this issue. Thank you for trying to let us resolve it. Dave

      Tim I spoke with you by phone about the situation. Perhaps it was before the pictures but I did speak with you regarding this situation.
