I just started playing through Phantom Pain again from scratch. Thanks for getting me one of the secret tapes without me having to 100% the game! Honestly though, this is very well written. Sounds like it would fit right into the game. Historical context, a short yet thorough explanation, and Snake occasionally providing either strong insight or a great summary in a word or two. Their monopoly on violence is backed by the necessary access to resources (funding) and the means to control this access for others. If they loose the control over the access to the central monetary means a population uses they would become way more vulnerable.
