So cool! The amazing Larkin Poe is the cherry on the Sundae!
I think Larkin Poe IS the Sundae!!! Lol
they are fabulous - not showcased enough in this clip, tho
OMG that's Larkin Poe! One of my favorite bands, there with Elvis! So proud...
found larkin poe while ago serendipitously on youtube...watched a couple vids & then full concerts..LOVE them, indeed!
Megan Lovell killing it on the slide!
Slide Queen!
💗💗
Larkin Poe! Elvis and T-Bone! Beam me up! Wow!!
I try not to pass up an opportunity to to watch Elvis Costello perform.
Yes- He sounds great too!
Amen. Saw him 43 years ago, the first time. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Also Bob T-bone Burnett (don't call the dog)
😎
@@amberandrews6842
I’ve no idea what year I saw him long ago at the Beekman ♥️ but a fan since Armed Forces 😉
He astounded me by turning off all the mikes & amps to fill the entire Palace Theatre here in Louisville with a bel canto, a cappella encore.
I tell people who say they just don’t get “why” EC is so beloved that they just need to see him live. (Well, I tell them that while blessing their little hearts under my breath for not recognizing talent when they hear it❤)
@ruthbennett7563 That must have been an amazing experience. I envy you.
The Slide Queen is in the house!
That's how I realized it was Larkin Poe on stage. I thought they looked familiar. Soon as I heard that slide solo I knew it was her
💗💗
And that's Tony Garnier on bass, Bob Dylan's MD and bass player on the never ending tour !
I'm here for Larkin Poe, but Elvis Costello and T Bone Burnett are special so it's a win, win.
Here for Larkin Poe 😄
Of course. Do you know if Larkin Poe took part in the recording sessions for the Cowards Brothers album?
Me too! I saw them at The Extended Play Sessions in Norwood MA and have been a fan since.

Elvis and T-Bone showing the kids how it’s done. They all sounded great together. Another memorable late night performance I’ll save to listen to again.
Real music by real people. Perfect!!
Elvis is so cool. I love how him and T Bone have matching guitars.
Well, sorta. T-Bone's is the real deal, Elvis's is a more recent reproduction.
@@Baribrotzer please elaborate.
@@moetrymwm7807 Look at the peg-heads.
T-bone's has a KAY logo - Kay was an old-time budget guitar company who made decent instruments. Elvis's does not; it has some other logo. Conclusion: T-bone's is original, Elvis's isn't. And the only reason I can imagine a guitar maker copying an obscure Kay model is because Elvis special-ordered one from a luthier.
The Kay company, like the Harmony company and Gibson, made guitars for the mail order company's like Montgomery Ward and Sears. Elvis's guitar is branded Old Kraftsman, which was a Mail order company's musical instrument brand, but like T Bones guitar was made by Kay.

@@williampolfus6975 OK. Thank you. You learn something new every day.
DANG, I’m so glad see these guys still playing , especially T Bone. Last time I saw him was with Alison Krauss and Robert Plant
And Larkin Poe❣️❣️❣️❣️
I know; what a nice surprise!
This had my foot jumping to a ridiculous degree before I even realized I was moving. I almost broke into applause in my living room!
What a ya know, Larkin Poe!
“We're like licorice. Not everybody likes licorice, but the people who like licorice really like licorice.”
Jerry Garcia
Larkin Poe should be household names by now, they’re the best thing to happen to blues and rock in a long time!
Declan, T-Bone AND Larkin Poe!😁👍
Elvis and T Bone sporting some very cool guitars...and Elvis got Rebecca to take out her mandolin.
In the mid-1980s I saw T Bone performing solo in a tiny club in Chapel Hill, NC.. Couldn't been more than 50, maybe 75, people there. I was dancing about 6 feet away from him. It was fab!
I saw him too….but around early 1980’s in Kalamazoo,Michigan….It was super snowy out…so..not many people showed up..maybe 30!….T Bone said…”why don't you all come down closer?”…so..the first 5 rows or so was nothing but fans!..It was a great show!
Hey! Larkin Poe!
💗💗
Holy sh^t, are you kidding me? Why did this take decades to happen??? 🥳
They have been working together for 40 years.
@@ivorsmith3999 haha ... I had a feeling the minute I hit "Send".
I'm well over 40, and was a fan of both back in the day. Saw Elvis once, at the Greek in Berkeley, early 80's. Never did see T-Bone.
I saw Elvis in the 80's and he covered a T Bone tune. I can't remember which one. I may have been in another dimension at that time!!! 😉
Wow this is amazing! Thanks!!
Now that's a tune. Made my foot move
Great band!!!
Thank you for this.
That went so fuggin hard.
This slays !
Love Larkin Poe!!
💗💗
Wicked solo by the slide queen
Fantastic!
From So like Csndy to So like Licorice in three decades
Larkin Poe!!
💗💗
Note that their band includes Larkin Poe.
When you're rich you get the nicest clothes. And the best guitars. Those Kay reissues look sweet.
Owning the nicest clothes and having the best guitars has noting to do with wealth. I saved up my money for 12 years to get a top of the line electric guitar and shop thrift shops for the nicest used clothing. Works for me! Don't be envious! These guys work their asses off for what they have. The musicians life is a life of hard work and performances! Elvis Costello still rocks and has earned that KAY guitar. BTW. My first electric guitar in seven grade was a kay guitar I paid $25 dollars for.
Lotsa money for cheap guitars.
Larkin Poe!
💗💗
Was literally in the show 🎉😊
That was fantastic--on standup bass is Tony Garnier, who has played with Bob Dylan on his Never-Ending Tour since 1988. Going to check that record out.
Well a super group!!! Wow! Of course!
Greatness!
It was nice of them to have Larkin Poe on, but he could have givem them a shoutout in the end!!
I agree. It's not like they are unknown. They just won a Grammy.
Never heard of them. Not sure why he is expected to do anything. Even if he had it wouldn’t meant anything to me.
Grammy winning also doesn’t mean anything either
They are an excellent band. I’ve been around a while and seen a lot of great bands and Larkin Poe are the deal.
@sotampacane maybe not to you, but to some other people, who might have never heard of them, either, but might be interested. They're great blues musicians, two sisters. You having never heard of them doesn't mean they aren't great or don't deserve promoting. 🙂 Anyway, no big deal.
Fun!!! Saw him right before the pandemic
So good. 😎cheers from Montreal
Rebecca taking on the role of the drummer for this song. :-)
💗💗
Larkin Poe! Great backup band!!!
Great.
This one should've made the televised show.....
good to wake up to!
Oh Elvis! Given the band membership here … shouldn’t it be called The Coward Siblings?
😉🥰
Rebecca and Megan said they were honorary Coward Brothers.
Larkin Poe, no way
Way.
Come on now please don't disappoint us we need four more years of Our Cartoon President to get through this
Fuck Yeah!!
Now that is a talented band. T-bone & Elvis helped Larkin Poe get on the map years ago; just guessing they gave lots of good advice about the industry, because they have done well with out getting burned, or burned out.
So excellent! iWish they'd take this on tour!
Keep at it gents! #mastercraftsmen

More Likes For Stephen Colbert 👍👍
Old folks boogie.
De de dede de deh
Tony Garnier on bass!?!?!?
David Mansfield ! Remember him well from the Rolling Thunder Review . . .
Hot!
⭐⭐!
A little Rolling Thunder Redux, et al.
neil watkins from accounting is t bone
Who is that Old Boomer Jammin w Larkin Poe?😂
💗💗
Way better than the snooze fest that they played last night with that song Always
Come on, Mr. Colbert, and what about the "Special Guest"? I'm really disappointed, because I didn't think the two old artists would invite Larkin Poe just as a "bio-scenery"😢
Tony Garnier!!!
I think he should do a collab album with Larkin Poe
🆒!!..💙🌎✌🏽😇.
looks like Bob Dylan's bass player, Tony Garnier
Pretty good band…..
Wait. That's Larkin Poe!
💥 Having Larkin Poe (Megan and Rebecca) appear on the "Late Show" is a great honor for the Show and for these two experienced, renowned artists...😍😍🎸🎸
Elvis sounds a bit like Dylan. New original material.
It's a shame that Rebecca and Megan Lovell (aka Larkin Poe) don't get a mention in the video or the credits. They are Grammy winners themselves so they deserved a mention.
💗💗
What, no Nick Lowe?
Boo on not adding Larkin Poe to the titling.
What? The two best singers and players on the stage get no mention? This would have been dreadful without Larkin Poe!
Where's Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks When You Need Them?
Both playing similar guitars, different headstock.
Why is the sound so bad?
I thought Elvis Costello was eaten by a bear?
Tom Jones on the bass
I like E.C. and I'm a long-time fan of T-Bone (since the Alpha Band days), but this is pretty bad. Sorry.
Elvis changed his last name and is still alive?! What?! Looks completely different now! Weird!
Maybe I'm crazy, but was this bad? I didn't enjoy this at all. In fact, I was grimacing for about half of the song. 😕
Not necessarily bad but not great. A mix of styles that don’t gel together cohesively.
@davidwilliam5536 Thanks for putting it in better words. There are some "out there" genres that I can see the fun and joy or skill in, but this one just wasn't doing it for me.
Makes me feel like a jerk; no one likes a critic, let alone one that can't even play music, but I simply didn't "get" this performance.
Made me feel like I did when I heard Yoko Ohno perform. 😅
Sounds thrown together. Elvis’s vocals not always great live either, as here
This might be the worst song I've ever heard in my entire life.
So you are not old enough to remember the Barney song? Or, Baby Shark? Or, Achy Breaky Heart? Live longer, you'll hear worse. May you someday understand how good this is.
keep the rythem, a drummer is badly needed......sorry
It’s tough to see the greats get old and not know when to hang it up. Can never hate on this guy his performance here is just blatantly incoherent
Wow- we are cranky
no shit!!!! Are u kidding? these guys are great!! take a chill pill & enjoy them....
With Elvis Costello, it was never about his performance, always about the songwriting, not unlike Bob Dylan. Except Costello is a far better songwriter than Dylan, overall.
You sound like you don’t know music. Your life must be poopy.
Wow. This isn't really my kinda music, but you're the ONLY comment ragging on them. Forget the fact SO many other people think they're just awesome - why the need to make such a rude comment?
Awful. What happened to his voice. And his ear for a melody?
good song to bad he can't sing no more
Too bad you don’t know the difference between to and too
There’s a turd on every video.
Saw him do his own stuff 2 years ago & can confirm he has lost it vocally.
Elvis the least talented person on the stage
Good musicians, but I don't like the song. They've done far better.
Thought that was a birdcage with Adam Sandler and a penguin lol not Burnett. good to know. #InJesusChristsnameweprayamen
Lame and Lamer.
If yer gonna go for a self deprecating band name and lower expectations i like the sound of that better.
Wtf
Elvis C 👍
