I can confirm that it is indeed possible to make "Engineer" in this game. Not sure if I should mention how, since that's technically considered a spoiler.
I even managed to get Real Civil Engineer after I got TH-cam as an Element, the rest was easy 8)

This is created using AI to figure out the pairs and what they create. So no one specifically thought through all of the possible combinations and that also means you will most likely never run out of combinations since the AI can keep creating them. Some of them make a lot of sense while others just seem weird and at times it also comes up with combinations that are nonsense. For example through combining various things, Freddy, dead, red light district I got "Freddy Dead Red Light District" what even is that? Nothing I'm aware of. Also, if you keep merging things you will get ones with the tag "First Discovery" beneath it. That means you are the first person to find that combination. I have quite a few and they are mostly weird things that don't make sense like the "Freddy Dead Red Light District" example I gave.
This sort of explains why so many combinations make star wars. I spent way too much time today trying to get something star trek, and nothing was working.
@@Carthybp oh yeah there's a lot of star wars, and pretty quickly you get to super saiyan god darth vader and other nonsense. very fun. i've gotten a bunch of star trek stuff too but sadly it doesn't make as cool combinations, although it did somehow get me to captain america.

Just found engineer. Combined brick with university to make architect, then architect with adult to make engineer, just goes to show architects are just engineers who haven't grown up yet.
You should play this again and try to get these words since the game is actually infinite:
1. Real Civil Engineer / RCE
2. Paddy
3. The Strongest Shape
4. Timberborners
5. NiffTea
Edit: To clarify, the game has an AI that can pretty much generate any combination of words and letters, so it's definitely infinite.

Sad that the AI in this didn't create a combination for "Fry" and "Bacon". It could've given "Food" or "Breakfast", or "Meal", etc.

Tried it out for a bit... learned that once you hit Werewolf, you can pretty much make a Were-anything. (Not everything, but there are so many Were-creatures in it like Were-Angel, Were-Poseiden, were-Leviathan, Were-bat, etc.) The Were will combo with nearly any animal, mythological creature, deity, etc. Some don't pan out, but many do.
Some of the funnier combos I've found (that I remember how I made them) were:
Oedipus + Jedi => Luke Skywalker
Train + Tragedy => Comedy
Wesley Snipes + marriage => Divorce
I also somehow got Duck to turn into Duck Tape... then somehow got that to turn into Ducktor Strange. (I have no idea what I did to make that combination). Eventually that one became a weird line until I hit a First Discovery of "Ducktor Strangefalf and Honeyducktor Strange"

Just had my first play of Infinite Craft and wanted to see what others have done (I'd heard of the game but hadn't looked too much into it). Crazy how different the results are even just after 10-20 combinations.
I got a bit carried away, and have gotten 740 items, with 13 new discoveries including: Barrell of Old Spice, Harry Potter and the Oompa Loompa on a stick. And who could forget: Cuddle-man: Homecoming.

So to be clear on how this works, it's all AI based. They're using the LLaMA LLM model to generate the results of new combinations, then storing those for lookup so everyone gets the same results for the same combos. So no human is thinking up results; when they don't stack, it's because the AI has literally said "these two don't combine to make anything" 😁 (I imagine the results would be more creative and more coherent if they used a better model, like GPT-4+, but the best ones aren't free to use like open-source LLaMA.)

Even this doesn't do justice to how insane this game can get.
In theory, Real Civil Engineer can find his own name in the game, and possibly do so with one of the words in the merge tree being TH-camr.

Even the few seconds of daude playing sandstorm had me raving.
7:12 its actually not thought out, at least not by a human, all the combinations are automated using a large language model (like chat GPT) which is why there are often combinations that make sense in a REALLY weird kind of way

Were the phrasing ...chicken or her-egg... or ...chicken or the chicken-egg... the answer would be debatable; per modern-paleontology, it's known terrestrial vertebrate-lifeforms arose from egg-laying forebearers, leaving decedents like chickens to arrive more recently, thus, the Egg came 1st.

you can just spawn the things in the center by clicking on them to the side, you can just spam click and come out with stuff like Cthulu, Zeus, Aphrodite, Apocalypse, Ragnarok, Mr. Beast and Titanocream Cthulu Rex.

ive made poe-veges (edgar allen poe + los veges) and about 3 other random poe things that were 'first discovery'
By the way in case you hadn't realised, the game is powered by AI to figure out how to combine things, which is why it feels like the game has been completely planned out
