If it didn’t cost so much it’d be fun to have, but that’s a hefty investment sitting around. 100% worth the trip to see it, hope you guys enjoyed it. smart decision what would you have used it for it would be nice to see finish up some of your other projects and see Leroy retake the stick shift record and maybe even see Ruby in the low eights to high sevens I know it's a lot to ask but I think you could do it but you cannot have to many irons in the fire at once

Pro machine shops have a big scanner looks like a giant copier. They can scan all them parts and make a blue print before you wreck it.

@@steffentysnes5302 I know, but starting with a stock replacement panel and adding a section is not that bad. Also he mentions if it got hit past the panel in the rear deck lid you are done. It would expensive, but you can get all of that for a 69 Charger from AMD. I agree its totally not a drift car however.

I had the absolute pleasure of getting to see this car in person last year. It is the most ridiculously awesome thing I have ever seen. The video here does not do it justice. To hear the guy who built it tell of how they came across this car and the amount of time and effort that went into this build was awesome. This is definitely a 1 of 1 and will make someone a very unique piece to add to their collection. This is definitely a Cleetus style car and it would fit right up their alley, but I understand their reasoning for not making the deal.

I'm not sure why he even bought it now, except the 'trophy' factor. It doesn't fit their drag strip motif, nor the burnout pit (wall tap would 'suck, a lot' as James said) or daily driver molds. Cool factor and sound are off the charts, though.

If you were gonna buy the car, you could spec a replacement parts like fender control arms, stuff that can be hurt easily and adjust a few things to use repop parts. Maybe use it at the circle track pace car

The Scraptona would make such an awesome exhibition car! I would haul it and even drive it short distances to car shows. I mean... just to look at it brings a whole new meaning to the word, "wood."
Never saw a car where you could actually view the rear differential while the car is moving down the road. Very unusual car indeed and Daytona look-a-like as well. A very well done car with extremely well done mods. Reminds of the days of the 1950s Mercury lead sleds which were chopped and radically done and made to look factory.
AMD makes most panels for mopars, and the rear end in that car is meant for dirt racing it would break very easily on the street with some clutch dumps
The rear end on my last dirt car (bomber/street stock) was a street rear end with a 1.5 welded diff

Izz Din it all depends on how fast she goes. It also depends on the sanctioning body. Typically it’s parachute, fire suppression, head/neck restraint, a really good cage, and it all has to pass really strict tech.
Izz Din also one mile is nowhere near as strict safety-wise as say, bonneville, where it’s like 3 or 4 miles
If I were you, I’d put it on the circle track you guys just bought for events and stuff. Definitely something to come back to

Hi Cletus, hello crew! You would have to do so much custom work to make that useable, you would have to make a custom rear firewall, and a rear truck trunk pobably out of aluminum, just to start. As James pointed out you would have to scan the fenders, and have them remade probably of of Fiberglas or carbon fibre. It would cost a fortune. In order to have a useable car, I would think about using the metal fenders ars a plug to make molds out of carbon fibre. Then I would store the metal fenders for safe keeping ans mount the carbon fibre fenders front and rears, the trunk, main body panels etc. It would cost a fortune and probably take one to two years to complete. Them you would have to have wheels that are narrower, and more affordable with a custom offset to make up for narrower width that would mean 4 new tires, the custom aluminum work, etc etc. You are looking at tens of thousands of dollars. Not to mention of what you would pay for the car. You were wise to pass. Maybe think about a newer less rare car. What else has caught your eye? Keep up the great videos.
