    I'm a multi-racial Fil-Am, and my advice to foreigners are: be patient, relax, destress. Leave the pressures and the hectic lifestyle of the western world behind. You guys are retired, you should enjoy your life in the Philippines and its laid back nature. Unwind and be free!

    Most countries come to the Philippines to learn English even the locals can't speak English fluently just talk to them slowly and they can understand you and also they are shy it's our medium of instructions in school 😊

    first time to watch your video. thanks for sharing your thoughts about the Philippines..
    Filipinos are hospitable, respectful, friendly, timid at times, but when you give a Filipino a beer/drink, that's when the better English comes out. ahaha kidding aside.. Filipinos love to interact/socialize and are also curious about other culture. =) Enjoy the Philippines!

    The Philippines in general doesn't have the high-profile lifestyle, very luxurious and very comfortable life like what the West and advanced countries have but if you're into embracing matters out of your comfort zone, then you'll thrive in this perfectly imperfect yet amicable and accommodating The Philippines.

      I need to share this since you were talking about luxury the west have that Phil dont have. Even before I was born both families, my dads side and moms before they got married have farm workers as well as house workers who tend to house chores and needs of the owners of the house and family, not slavery tho but theyre live in workers. Now when my mom and dad married they got poor hahaha well at least middle to upper middle class but moms side properties are still there and we us the second generation inherited them. When I was born we already had nannies actually my parents afforded 5 house workers and sponsored few people get their education who also live with us, mostly some of our unfortunate blood relatives and a child of our farm worker who we treated like family call her aunt till now and she now lives in Australia. Now we have 3 nannies who take turns looking after my nephew who has autism and do the house chores. And if i dont feel like do gardening , we can always call for a subdivision gardener. We used to have one assigned at home everyday but I have rearranged the garden after mom passed on and less garden work is needed so we need to return the gardener to the subdivision and just call him when theres a need. Dad being old has his company driver and takes me anywhere I wish if I need to go out. I have my drivers license but I no longer drive. This circumstance may not be true to all household but here in my subdivision all or majority have maids, drivers, gardeners etc… an extra person too to look after their pets. This is the luxury that only the rich in the west or their kings and queens enjoy. My Aunts in Seattle USA are always whining now how tired they are so this year theyl come for a longer vacation doing nothing but rest, eat, see some sights, see the properties they have that they forgot if theyve seen or not. To add more. I dont have much money but I enjoy buying my stuffs in the US like leather, skin care, electronics and more! When those brands get to the Philippines theyre expensive so I get them in the US and if I have extra I sell them here and it does not take a week and all sold out as I used to sell them at cheap cost too. Others will place their orders and tell me what they need and I try to look for those. We also can find stuffs online here and its been years I seldom go out as all I need are available . So what else would you call luxury that its very basic for us to enjoy the amenities at home. Someone serves you and do the chores for you, that kind of luxury is hard to find in the US , my relatives their have their millions of dollars too but theyl only get someone to do it for them when its hard to do it themselves like lifting heavy stuffs or house repairs or car fixing.

    • @jogtg
      @jogtg หลายเดือนก่อน

      For very luxurious amenities, there are 5-7 star hotels and resort you can go to and their price range varies, some popular where hollywood stars go for vacation and some are kinda hidden, what I mean is its you whose going to discover. Youre given the luxury to find it out yourself 😉 as a Foreign national, it will take you a bit of time to discover things same like how I experienced living in Tokyo but I dont need a subway or a bullet train to enjoy luxury, well I see those as necessity in a modern world. But one thing I observed if youre living in luxury your hand should not be calloused or no bumps unless if youre into sports 🤣 majority if not all ladies here who have those lifestyle having maids etc have fine skin may it be brown or fair skin. Thats one tip on how to meet someone being in the middle to upper class in Philippines society. Unfortunately we still have that class system and the difference is evident, for for foreigners it will take you time to find out but youl learn soon if youre keen enough and wish to learn.

    • @jogtg
      @jogtg หลายเดือนก่อน

      Enjoy the Philippines and all its amenities, from irritating warm to hot climate to cool breeze up the mountain areas and cities, this country is far from being perfect but its how you look at it. There are other places in Asia to explore and see where youl fit. Me tho being in Asia its hard to compare each place as they have their own unique identities. Its sad tho that Philippines has been invaded by other cultures brought by invasion by foreign military forces, what you see in cultural shows really where those puffed sleeves costume arent really of filipino, but we dont have a choice but to just go with the flow, all was done and in the past and I myself is of mixed race. We just have to spread ❤️

      @@jogtg even before colonization The Philippines was already a highly diverse archipelago as it was inhabited by different warring factions, ethnicities and Austronesian tribes not to mention various merchants e.g Chinese, Indians, Phoenicians, Malays, Arabs, etc. from all over the world assimilating into the Precolonial Philippine society thus making The Philippines a truly mixed race. It is for this reason and geographical challenges that makes it tough for the The Philippines to achieve homogeneity and unity in lifestyle, goals and aspirations until Spain almost unified the entire archipelago by her introduction of Christianity to Precolonial Filipinos and made them to abandon animistic way of life. All this make The Philippines a very colorful and very interesting country aside from its very beautiful people and sceneries.

    Philippines is a developing country. It has lagged behind its neighbors in infrastructure and transportation for so many years. However, the last 6 years the country had an unprecedented economic growth. It has also been actively addressing its infrastructure and transportation woes at rate never done before those past 6 years. The Word bank predicts the country will become an upper middle income country like Thailand by 2029.

      The Philippines actually became a U.S. Territory in 1898 after Spain was defeated in the Spanish-American War. Spain occupied it up to that point. Unfortunately that territory agreement ended in 1946. At which time Great Britain occupied it. English became a dominant language during the time the U.S. and Great Britain occupied the Philippines. Since then, the Philippines has maintained control over the territory. Given China’s aggression in Philippine fishing waters, I personally would like to see it become a U.S. Territory once again. Just my opinion.

This mall includes a large grocery store, a medical clinic with medical personnel and Doctors on call. This mall also includes a Dental office, a car rental facility, travel agencies, airline reservation facilities, many different type of eateries and restaurants including several buffet places, as well as children play areas, and obviously hundreds of stores. Uniformed security personnel are at every entrance and often walk this facility. The Davao LTO (Land Traffic Office, Philippines Motor Vehicle office) is right across the street. It’s where I received my Philippines Drivers License. There are also many other business and restaurants around this mall. Younger foreigners that are not yet retired, are not able to leave their jobs and relocate to the Philippines because they legally cannot work here.
