I know that skillet is a Christian band, but even if they are, you don't have to be Christian to listen to it, they make songs so you can interpret it the way you want to, I am not a Christian but interpret the lyrics in many different ways like abuse, relationships, and other things

Me? I see every bad event in my otherwise peaceful life.
My cousin who is four years behind me, lets call them Kay, was a big toxic friend. They always wanted to do things their way where I was raised to meet half way and compromise. I did everything they wanted me to and whenever I asked for something I wanted to do, Kay would guilt me into doing their thing. It eventually got to a point where I was being the emotions of the relationship-yeah, its that bad-so I cut Kay out of my life via blocking them on Facebook and other medias. They still then tried to make me feel like dirt but haven't been able to since, thankfully.
The next event is a short one, this next person, who we'll call Sage, backstabbed me to get my then best friend. Sage was added to my little friend clique, that only consisted of me and my best friend at the time, to see how it would go. She was a chatter box and I didn't mind that much but when she kept complaining that she couldn't draw, I was willing to teach her. My best friend even got in on this but Sage hardly paid any attention to what I was teaching and eventually just left me and my bestie to ourselves. Sage kept sneaking my bestie away from me and I was never included so one day I wanted to have my bestie come with me but Sage started dragging her off, so I pulled back until we just had a tug-o-war with my besties arms. Sage won after my bestie informed me that she wanted to be with her more so I just let her go. It got to a point where Sage started spreading false rumors about me-this was in 7th/8th grade, so I didn't have it all together then. She would say I'm demanding or controlling to my bestie, which I wasn't, and that I beat up one of my few other friends. That was the boiling point for me and I cut her outta my life in 9th grade.
This last one is my first and worst relationship. Lets call him Richard. So I had a crush on Richard since junior high as he moved to my little village in 6th grade. At first, he found me odd since I follow my friends everywhere but we eventually became best friends. One day I confessed my love for him and he accepted my confession. What followed was a good 6 months of love and happiness until the fourth of July, where Richard broke up with me over text...It was crushing to me since I've never had a real relationship until then. Then, a few months later, he wanted me to take him back. I was dumb enough to give him another chance and it would cycle back to this way in 5-3 months. I gave Richard over 6 chances until I finally denied him. He never asked again after that.

Me too, i sabotaged myself with a lot of beautiful girls when i was 12... a couple of them were incredible beautiful, caring, smart and all, didnt think i was good enough for them or anyone, aww man, i really regret it every day, it sounds weird, but nothing really made me feel as bad as that, i didnt feel anybody loved me back then (thanks to my psyco mother who never really cared that much about me, abandoned me and did a lot of crap to me and my dad) i have to live my life today(15), and its way more harder than it should be thanks to the position my mother put me in... but man.. if i could only return back in time... I really regret back then not getting out of my self-hurt, self-hate shield and... love. its incredible how healty and happy is the life of some 12 y/o,s always thatsomething like that comes in my mind... i cant help but feel like crying....my dad was severely sick, still working and could die any day, my mother became a D type person some years ago, didnt care if i was a winner or not, and my a type dad, always treated me like an adult, my mother was conditioning me to hate him and believe all the bs she said about him... and one day, it hit me hard, right where it hurt and, well, my dad didnt think it affected me that much, my mother careless, i used to cry every day, frustration, regret, confusion, uncertainity, clueless, man, i cant believe i was 12 years old and feeling all that, so many bad emotions..... i wasnt over it at all when my mother then abandoned me, It took me so many effort and time to get over it, tbh my father wasnt that helpful with me until some months ago, but thanks to God, here I am, close to being complete again.

My ex used to hit me and belittle me by putting me down. She always would tell me that I was a fuck up and a weak maggot. So much to the point I believed her. She got into my head and made me believe that I couldn't do better than someone like her. I was in that cycle for several years. It took me, what felt like forever, to understand that it wasn't me, but her.
Hope you're doing better and find the right person for you who will treat you with respect and validate your feelings and not make you feel like you're losing control on life.
