As a female drummer myself, that takes alot of talent so kudos to Jen Ledger. While drumming you have to keep track of multiple beats and numbers in your head, and for her to be able to do that while memorizing lyrics is massive talent. Lots of respect

As a teenager with psychological problems, suicidal tendencies, psychological transitions and low self-esteem I always find refuge in this band in my darkest hours. Even though I'm not sure about the existence of god and I disagree with many of the singer's conservative views, Skillet gives me life. With their songs I express my anger, my sadness, my disappointment and all this paranoia that I live. Songs like The Last Night, Would it Matter, Sick Of It, Awake and Alive, Monster, Not Gonna Die, The Resistance, Good to be alive, what i believe accompany me in my darkest hours with their amazing lyrics still only and with their music. I mean, there's dozens of bands that have a prominent drummer as a backup singer. Just look at Atreyu. Their lead drummer now is their singer. Drums are a simple instrument, so it's very easy to add vocal lines. It's good talent, yes. But there's a reason that there's very few lead guitarists or bassists doing backing vocals. Drums are just very easy to learn for anyone that has a single bone of rhythm. Again, it takes talent to drum & vocalize, but it's a lot easier to do than most people think.

Fuck hip hop and rap for killing rock. Stupid ass music that only talks about money, sex, drugs, and gloomy emotions. The newer generations have become increasingly more brain dead regarding their taste in music. Whenever I tell people my opinion regarding mainstream music they come at me like rabid dogs.
It’s not bad but it’s highly, highly processed. So is his voice. I saw them once (at a venue that seated like 500 people-after this song and monster were out) and it wasn’t terrible but they relied on a lot of studio trickery that did not translate well to live.
I picked this song as one of the song’s at my brother’s wake. Listening to it again brings a little bit of sadness and pain, but it brings something far greater out of those ashes; conviction. A conviction to bring a light into this world. To not be beaten down by the “tragedy of life,” but to rise up and defy it. My brother’s death did not make me realize this about life, it cemented it in my brain all the more. Life is a precious gift. Be strong, go out there and help people! *cough* coronavirus *cough* be strong and help people, but stay at home. Social media and the internet are the tools. Well actually this is just the Music Video so the song would of just been recorded separately and then synced to fit in with the video just like with any other music video, so it might sound different if you listen to one of their live songs vs this one.
I remember spending time at the house of a girl I liked. This song was playing and i threw some Linkin Park lyrics to it. It was too late before i noticed her watching out of the corner of my eye. Never ended up getting serious with her. But weve got families now. She gave me a much needed confidence boost, and with it. Immortalized this song for me.

I mean, there's dozens of bands that have a prominent drummer as a backup singer. Just look at Atreyu. Their lead drummer now is their singer. Drums are a simple instrument, so it's very easy to add vocal lines.
It's good talent, yes. But there's a reason that there's very few lead guitarists or bassists doing backing vocals. Drums are just very easy to learn for anyone that has a single bone of rhythm.
Again, it takes talent to drum & vocalize, but it's a lot easier to do than most people think.

It’s not bad but it’s highly, highly processed. So is his voice. I saw them once (at a venue that seated like 500 people-after this song and monster were out) and it wasn’t terrible but they relied on a lot of studio trickery that did not translate well to live.

I remember spending time at the house of a girl I liked. This song was playing and i threw some Linkin Park lyrics to it. It was too late before i noticed her watching out of the corner of my eye. Never ended up getting serious with her. But weve got families now. She gave me a much needed confidence boost, and with it. Immortalized this song for me.
