- I'm back with another rapid chess video that may yet again put you to sleep. The time controls for this 1 hour and 57 minute event is 10 minutes per player without any increment. I joined the event about 45 minutes late. In this session, I played what felt like 3.5 games while sharing my train of thought along the way.
I'm a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. Ok goodnight
First game was such a good demonstration of positional play, very instructive. Thank you Jerry.
👍
Thank you Jerry for another awesome video! I love watching one of your rapid games before playing one of my own - I find it very instructive to hear how you think through the positions. It definitely helps prevent me from blitzing out silly blunders early on.
Welcome Andrew 👍
There's something incredibly satisfying about watching you slow play and grind down the extremely passive, almost just waiting, first opponent. 35 moves without a capture. Just absolutely brutal space taking.
Even after watching you for years, including your bullet games, I still find myself shouting at the screen when you are below a minute and you take 15 seconds going back and forth on a move :D
I’m 35 mins in after 3 nights of watching. That’s a pretty efficient job of helping me fall asleep 👌🏻❤
Finished the vid now. Great stream as always Jerry ❤
I started getting too relaxed after one minute, so I'll have to stop for now and put it back on when I lay down to sleep. Thanks Jerry!
Jerry is R.E.M. = Rapid Entertainment Man
This series is the most wonderful thing you've ever done.
LOVE these videos so much. I often fall asleep to your videos and John Bartholomew's because of the quiet commentary. Thank you so much for posting a new one!
Perfect, it's bedtime soon in Europe. Ty Jerry
Jer-Bear it’s not that your content puts people to sleep or anything. It’s your calm demeanor and mellow tone. You were/are an ASMR pioneer!
The first is so weird, its rare to see such a dominance of space. Black was choking himself playing so passive.
Yay new bedtime material. When I wake up I'll rewind to watch what I missed!
Please play more rapid time control-your thought process is always very clear and instructive.
4am and no sleep last night either, thanks for the assist Jerry, teaching me chess and helping with some insomnia and bad habits for a few years now :)
These are my favourite videos of yours, please do more of them
Its not the game ... It's his voice ... Didn't know we needed a chess asmr...
Doctors should be prescribing this video to insomniacs. 5/5 will sleep again
You cured my insomnia, God bless you Jerry!
I love imersing in the games, but at late nights, listening to his move analisys quickly drains my focus and comfortably sends me to sleep! Best regards from Serbia!
👍 😴
Nice one Jerry,I think the early draw offer and resignation out of the blue means an interruption for your opponent. If that happens to me I offer a draw and then resign when I must leave. Thanks and keep up the good work.
You’re the best Jerry. I love your zeal and yes your voice pattern is very soothing. You could make a business making recordings of positive affirmations to assist people to drift off to sleep In a good mental state. No kidding Jerry. Give it some thought. You have a real God given talent.
That first game was amazing! Love the positional chess play. You really controlled your opponent’s options!
We will never get sick of your videos
"...deployment of the bishop to g2", passes out, wakes up 8 hours later.
Super engaging for me. Thanks Jerry!
I used this massive pawn center idea in a blitz game of my own recently and got a crushing position against my opponent!
I remember all of the moves of the first game. Other games, I have no clue at all
This is really nice to watch right before bed, very relaxing, thank you for the video.
These are very instructive, thank you
thank you for crushing that terrible "2100" it was extremely pleasant to watch
lol
This will be my third time trying to finish this video without falling asleep in the middle. Wish me luck🤞
How did you do? I made it to the middle of the first game. Great vid
I made it all all the way to 1:10:21. So close!
@@yaroniko212 nice. I'm going to try again.
It took me two weeks to watch all the games. Good naps though
@@Dr.Sortospino haha I'm on attempt #6. Something oddly familiar about these positions I've never seen
Worked like a charm, woke up to the end of the video and droped a like.
It's 1:30am and I can't sleep, thought I'd watch some chess, let's see how this goes :)
2:00 now but dame
Jerry's voice is so calming
Aaah nice.. at the perfect time..
How am I supposed to fall asleep to the least traditional opening I’ve ever seen?? 😭
Just close your eyes 😋
About the 1300 mysterious case... I've been there, you can only take so long before playing like this and you feel like a blunder is coming. I learned nowadays to not give up on games like this, but the pressure is immense.
it really is..
I love you man thanks for all your videos
I think everyone enjoys every time you get a chance to upload any new content Jerry ,
Thanks again !
Jerry = my first chess channel subscription years ago.
Back when I said to myself (and to others) " youtube is well suited for chess content "
Little did I know...
Yeah chess has grown a lot since the early days.
oh perfect i was just about to go to bed, thx jerry
The trilogy is complete
Thanks these are very enjoyable to watch I hope you like doing them, although not finishing when the outcome is not determined is I think frustrating.
Started nodding off around the 10:30 mark...which is a pity, because I really do learn a lot from Jerry's somnolent positional musings...😴
i think hunting the h5 pawn would have been the most principled and easiest way to win vs the 2100 with the space advantage but your approach was of course also fine
Can someone turn out the light? Too comfy here
This title misled me. I thought I would only be put to sleep but I was instead put in a 4-month-long coma.
Welcome back
Jerry is to chess , what Barry white is to music
Nujabes, really
Just making a comment for the yt algorithm... jerry the best!
That first game no pieces had been traded for over 40 moves or something like that.
Oh yes! Love rapid; chess without the rushing.
How on earth has a player with a Lichess rating of 1332 found 12. Nb5 at 45:38?
I think Bb4 was an interesting try
That’s about what my rating is and there’s a decent chance I would have seen the idea. I wouldn’t have played it though because it doesn’t even work.
That's why I hate playing lower rated players. Like I didn't even see that and I'm 1950 on lichess. Brodie was very suspicious and then the abrupt resignation, cheater vibes.
Can someone explain to me why Bc5 would not have been a good response? It was my immediate thought to protect that center pawn and then untangling the rook out.
@@Noarcs After Bc5 White plays Nc7+ and wins the exchange. Should be winning...
By the way, 12. Nb5 is the best move.
Thank you Jerry ✨🐨
Just in time for my nap. Thanks Jerry! :)
is it suspicious that 13hundred player making that Nb5 move in the Scandy game, i wonder... he got just 70 games on Lichess. weird.
There is no way that a 1300 player can spot nb5. The offer of a draw also reinforces your suspicion.
@@moesheri9385 man you're too paranoid
@@hellopleychess3190 I think you're too inexperienced. If you hear Jerry's comments about this game then you know he thinks the same as me. He just doesn't want to say something direct.
@Prof. George C. Grasser you can not have spaces in your username on lichess
I never finished this video. I fell asleep
At minute 30:50 you had Bxg3 and they can't take because of fxg3 Nxg3 the Queen moves and you win the exchange with the fork on e2, right? Always interesting to see your games and listening to your train of thoughts!
what did you think i use chess videos for
perfect....was needing some sweet dreams
35 first move without any capture ..thats a record hahha
Good evening Jerry! Goodnight Jerry. Sleep tight.
Im watching this before bed. I hope it works as the title suggests!
I need a new one of these per week
These are fantastic
you are just amazing :)
Thank you.
Maybe you should consider ASMR videos too.
Thank you good night
Finally someone that understands me
What a lovely day, jerry uploaded
Best videos ever :)
31:30 hey did you considered Bxg3 ?
Putting a disgusting system time player down first game I approve 👍👍👍
Asmr chess
Jerry, aka the bob ross of chess lol
Jerry are you gonna make a video about the recent drama?
Doubt it. Jerry's never commented on any chess drama before, so starting now seems out of character. He does his own thing. And that's why people like. It's all about good chess, and that's why I'm a huge fan
Sorry jerry but I can’t sleep with this amazing analysis 🧐
im bouta fall asleep soooo hard
What am I supposed to do with the other hour and ten minutes?
:P rock on, Mr Jerry
Only an hour? This means i can reuse onlu 4 times! Jerry make them longer! I need real sleep!
Very relaxing watch. Hope the obvious cheater gets banned
yes jerry
Game 1 had no captures until after move 40
36* but still weird
Let's go jerry
I’m asleep
jerry sir how are you
Ok here we go. Zzz in 10
BTW Who is Jerry?
😄
My sleep therapist 😂
yes!!!!!
good
AaSMR whit Jerry
I am sorry Jerry, I accidentally skipped adds.. :c
they are 2100...
Zzzzzzzz
When l translate this comment an additional 'z' is added. This is linguistically accurate.
Wish our government was run so efficiently 👌👌👌👌👌👌😆😆😆
I am rated 2100 on lichess rapid too and this guy played terrible chess
I was looking for your #2 video, seen this one. Good night everyone.
