      I have nothing concrete for you. I suspect its because the queen looks far more active on the b-file than on f6.

    • @Hsel-lc1wt
      @Hsel-lc1wt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He wants to control the open b file and probably simplify things a little bit? I think also f6 is very passive and you'd be on the back foot for a while, so that also plays into it a bit

    • @andydecoy1138
      @andydecoy1138 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I dunno, but I spotted a pawn fork (f3) idea when the white knight moved away. Gotta move the f rook back first though. So queen takes seems strong.

    • @yorickstrangefield2976
      @yorickstrangefield2976 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Online, playing blitz/bullet, on Lichess, his rating is very high. But in real life, OTB, playing slow chess, he is only NM strength.

    • @chantzcoleman7482
      @chantzcoleman7482 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yorickstrangefield2976 I wouldn't let his lack of an IM title fool you in his playing strength
      Many GMs are alot weaker than him

    • @GooTube3110
      @GooTube3110 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yorick Strangefield how do you know his OTB strength if he does not play?

    • @pinksocks8697
      @pinksocks8697 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yorickstrangefield2976 The thing is, the IM title is awarded by the FIDE and Jerry's title was awarded by the USCF. The NM title is given by national federation, it's a different rating system, which can be confusing.
      Also, you need a rating of 2200 to become a NM but you could theoretically be stronger than a 2500 and not willing to continue otb chess for whatever reason.
      Just like some IM are crushing most GM they encounter (Opper for exemple) some NM are far stronger than a lot of IM.

    Can someone explain the format/rules of this tournament?
    Is it like, any number of players can participate in each team then they all battle randomly against each other and each win is a point?
    Or just the top x players of each teams pool of players participate?
    Or is there a set number of games for each player?

      Thanks, I didn't notice!
      This tournament system seems to be abusable, no? If someone joined a team and just forfeit every game they would give lots of free points to other teams. All you would need is just 1 free point to any of the other teams top 20 performers and it's already unfair.
