I don't know....there are many AMAZING breakers from all over the world. For women's, it looks like Japan is dominating. Bgirl 671, from China, is a force to reckon with.
Bgirl Ami, from Japan is also a top tier competitor.

my understanding is that guests have an option on weather they would like to sit on the couch for the other guests. its a common thing in the uk and kelly's show has utilized it well. if he really didnt want to still be ont he stage, Im sure his agent would have made it so he wasnt there. that being said, michael douglas doesnt strike me as a movie star with the type of ego to be offended by sitting on the same coach as olympians so why should we get offended for him if he's not offended?

@@harrisre-nee3017 it’s facts. NYC. Breaking lost steam in the 80s and 90s and the music side of hip hop went mainstream. The rest was forgotten. Europe kept it going till it slowly picked up on local levels again in the US in the late 90s. You can claim creating it but it was indeed abandoned because there was more money and glamour in the music. Tell me why all the rap stars didn’t feature all elements of hip hop in their music videos? No breakers in the music vids should tell you what happened to hip hop. And why it’s all money and women? I mean this isn’t hard if you give it a bit of time and research. If you wanna talk, where are you? Why are YOU not breaking and repping at jams? If you don’t wanna believe it, go look up Bboy documentaries with the Rock Steady Crew. See what crazy legs, ken swift, etc had to say. Go watch the freshest kids.

Hip hop started w blacks AND Puerto Ricans. And the other ethnicities joined soon after. And breaking was heavily taken from asian martial arts moves. The originators will tell u that. And Koreans have been world champs in breakdancing since the 90s so it’s not new to see that. Breaking fell out of favor in the 90s. I am grateful to ppl keeping hip hop culture alive and who didn’t forget where it came from. Which is “peace, love, and unity” amidst all these gangs killing each other in nyc to now creating together. NYC is the most culturally diverse place in america. So hip hop was all of that cooperating. So seeing ppl be divisive or elitist based on revisionist history w my hip hop culture is so sad to me. We started this ish to unite all of us. All that other noise is dead.
      Each one teach one.

@@okaeT @Okae86 Agreed. Always Black Americans claiming something they started as their own and can ONLY be possessed and expressed by them. It's a BLESSING that the culture has spread and been embraced by communities across the world. That's something to be proud and grateful for - to be part of the black community that created something pervasive and inspiring. Why be so bitter about it? Fun fact, breaking may have been started by Black Americans but was quickly picked up and innovated by Latinos as the dance spread through to the west coast from the Bronx.

How can you tell the creators of their cultures how to feel about how their culture is being appropriated. Can you imagine martial arts being in the Olympics and their first representative is not of Asian descent. It is our culture to share and it is for us to dictate how it should be shared but you guys don’t share, you overrun our culture, steal it and monetize it. Create groups that have no original creators of the culture and white wash our culture. How can you tell the people that created the culture how they should share their culture. It’s absolutely sad and crazy to overlook our feeling on this and demand access to what is ours monetize it, exclude us and state that is sharing. Literally the first woman to represent breakdancing in the Olympic is not black. Why didn’t they put it a sport in olympics the 80’s or find a black person

For anyone who is crying about why there's no Black representation in the Olympics need to understand that Blacks abandoned breaking (break dancing) after the late 80s. The ONLY reason why you see its resurgence today is because Hispanics and Asians in the US kept it going from the 90s to current date along with the international bboys/bgirls from Europe, South America, and Asia. While Blacks threw the art away like trash, everyone else were getting together battling it out underground with events like Battle of the Year (annual battle with the best group around the world since 1994 or 95 to current date), Redbull BC One, Stance, and other events. If you want Blacks to represent the US, start learning to breakdance and get up to the elite level, because you people are 25 years behind

When and where did black people throw away their own culture. It’s in our blood it is who you are. Colonizers will make any excuse to steal other people’s culture. The audacity to tell people that you developed their culture and in order for them to compete they need to prove themselves to take part in their own f*ckin culture. Do you realize this is why we gatekeep.😳😳😳. It is our culture, this has happened to us for centuries.. Egypt with education, pyramids, art, dancing, jazz, blues, country music, rap, hip hop, we create, you steal and then you form organizations, recording companies, groups( kpop),bboy that steal our culture and only includes your people this white washing our culture and monetizing it and then you tell us to meet a standard to take part in our culture/ or use us to bring you a profit. Do you know how insane that an Asian woman is the first representative of break dancing in the Olympics , a culture she never created but because you formed these groups that took this culture monetized it, cultural appropriated it well we should just let it be.
