When I started live streaming, I used Streamlabs. It worked fine until one day, it didn't. I was not able to go live. No video; No audio. I was about to do a show so the person who runs the station I stream told me to switch to OBS Studio. I have not had an issue since. OBS just did a major upgrade. My settings or streaming were not effective. I just left Melon which is run by Streamlabs. It started freezing and buffing during my live streams which are not cool for I stream hard line. I left them and use Restream. Thanks for this video. Now I know Streamlabs is not up to par.
I have been experiencing MAJOR issues with OBS since their current updates. I still get dropped frames even when I stream at the lowest settings of 720p/4500kbps and I have blazing fast internet.
deadass, i have half a gig of download, ever since late August/early September I've been getting a stupid amount of dropped frames. I've tried several different things. Even got a beefy nighthawk router as a last ditch effort. Changed all my internet chords in my house too, called my ISP and had them send out 5 trucks over the last 2 months. YET, I still get dropped frames. It's unlucky, so I'm here wondering if I should go BACK to SLOBS due to it having a more sturdy base update wise.
I used streamlabs for the majority of my "streaming career" because of all the built in features, alerts, chat and others, but as I recently switched to OBS studio and found out there are all of those plugins and even more available for OBS Studio as well, I would not switch back anymore. Plus stream on OBS studio consumes sooo much less PC power thanks what I can enjoy gameplay on stream much more than before. No more FPS drops and I feel like output on stream looks cleaner as well. But maybe it's just palcebo 😅
a small litlle bug i found with obs is when streaming games if you exist full screen in that game obs cant keep up with going out of fullscreen so suddenly and the game crashes because obs was trying to be to fast
@@berriannawinterthorn585 i was talking about the going full screen in the game and when i used streamlabs back when i posted this comment when recording a full screen game it wouldnt load just a black screen on streamlabs end and the game would be perfectly fine and one thing i noted was when you switch from full screen or to full screen the games crashes only when using streamlabs
I'M USING OBS with a GoPro hero 9 webcam utility app. the issue I have is almost always mid stream the GoPro video feed in OBS goes black as if it disconnects.. but its still on and everything on the Mac... why is ti doing this/
Vast majority of these guys are going to say OBS. Stream labs is fine if you want to use it. It can be harder on CPU if you have a low end CPU. Basically, if you're new and have 1 PC, need to stream, just starting, you have to have enough CPU to enjoy how user friendly SL is. If you have a llow end CPU, you're stuck with learning OBS or getting a 2nd PC to stream.
I'm trying to work with obs but my fps loss and lag have made the videos unwatchable wether that's streaming or recording straight up. I've tried a lot of the advice on there site and other TH-cam videos for settings etc. Any advice on getting a better quality stream or video?
@@sportingdawg Do you mean Vega 11 integrated graphics? If so, then yeah you're going to need better hardware to stream/record while gaming. Integrated graphics are barely meant to handle gaming let alone encoding tasks.
ur using intergrated graphics, thats why its lagging u need a actual graphics card to be a content creator even with the most exspensive board and cpu ur gonna lag with integrated graphics there just not desigend for that sorta usage
Hey! I pay for a bundle with Adobe so I have access to photoshop to edit thumbnails. If you’re looking for a free software 100% I’d recommend Davinci Resolve. Professional editing software for free. It’s kinda crazy they give it to everyone for nothing haha. There’s a paid version but that just gives access to tools that you most likely will never need
How can I use obs to record the game im playing in higher quality? When I stream it's perfect at 1080p, both in mobile and watching thru pc. But the moment I check the recording I was making in files, the quality isn't as good as it was when streamed, and there's no point in wanting to upload something that isn't high quality, how can I fix this? or is there an editing software that can make my 720p recorded quality higher?
Obs recording suddenly had terrible screen tearing and dropped frames while my game performance was fine. It's driving me crazy. I think I need to switch to Streamlabs.
If I make an account on obs and in future change the pc I stream on, will my account save and switch it to the new pc or do I need to make all the saves again? I'm not streaming right now, but I wanted to get everything set up first, I have a really good laptop which I could use for streaming but have other plans with it that's why I ordered a pc only for streaming. I was wondering if I could get everything set up first on the laptop, fully get the obs done and all, and when the pc comes use the pc.
SLOBS is definitely the easier of the two to figure out, but it's also much buggier. It's worth it in the end to learn OBS. Much smoother experience. Glad this video helped!
I use the Sony a7iii. Great camera for both video and photography! Its pricey though. I used to be full time as a videographer so it made sense for me to have, and now I've turned it into my streaming webcam and obviously its what I use to film all of my YT videos
man i used too use streamlabs they lei about using less resorses . i use obs also after what happen with the obs law suit thing with the trade mark i no longer use them anymore after they try too trade mark obs and calling them robbers . they stolen there ideam from another recorder program and stolen the name obs and yes i switch cause off streamlabs would not have the correct color output it look fadded and my cpu would not get 60 fps i would stream or record at 30 fps . my pc has crashed when using slobs compair too obs
Do i need an insane graphics card to stream games on obs if I'm capturing the game from the xbox/companion/remote play app? I have a hp envy laptop with amd a10 radeon graphics card, with 12 gb of ram.
I used to use streamlabs 2020 around MW19 the only issue that was terrible for me was the CPU usage of 40% vs. obs 2021 to now 2.3 - 5.6 %
Interesting. I never had CPU issues with SLOBS but overall it just had more bugs than OBS. Happy I switched
@@AskCory so you use obs?

I can confirm this is true with OBS and Streamlabs.
damn im running 8000 smooth
i tried to use a green screen and now i cant figure out how to get the camera to work at all. on OBS stream labs desktop
I upgraded our Facebook Live during our Sunday Mass i use OBS Studio. Happy that i learn this software..

Stream labs OBS always freezes my scenes… after watching this, I’m going back to OBS studio. Thanks!
Also the preview always looks blurry? Maybe that’s on all these, but the video comes out clean.

im not sure which one is better to download for 2023

Pretty late... But depending on your laptop you can lower your settings on there if you have a NVDIA graphic card you can you Geforce NOW
You can stream with Zoom as well.
