Dolly Parton is famous for always wearing big wigs. On a talk show once, the host asked her if it bothered her when people called her a “dumb blonde.” She said something like, “Oh, it doesn’t bother me, because I know I’m not dumb and I know I’m not blonde!”
She wrote this song to her longtime partner, who was reluctant to let her go on her own, and she wrote this and sang it to him in his office. He said she could go- as long as she allowed him to produce this song! You know the most incredible thing? She wrote this song AND "Jolene" on the same day!
What's also not been mentioned is that Porter Waggoner (the guy at the end of the clip) lost his show shortly after Dolly left for a solo career. He became bitter and won a lawsuit for her songs written while under contract with him. Later in his life, he fell on hard times, and put up his entire catalog for auction. Well, Dolly caught wind of this and (true to her words of "always loving" him) decided to buy all of his songs... and then gifted them back to Porter so that he could continue to earn royalties. Such a beautiful person inside and out! Love love love Dolly! Another tidbit: Dolly originally wanted Elvis to record this song, but later decided against it bcuz Elvis' manager Col. Parker wanted 50% of the royalties.
@@djjames8122 This is the truth. They were able to reconcile their friendship, and she even sang this song to him on his deathbed. She is truly a beautiful person.
Dolly is a treasure. She has a book gifting program that gifts books to children from birth to age 5, and it's not just in the US. She gave money to find a vaccine for Covid, she's donated to children's hospitals, and many other things. She can sing, she can act, and she's an amazing person inside and out.
I loved when she said something like this at some award show: "When I wrote and sang this song, I was able to go to the bank, but when Whitney sang it, I was able to buy the bank."
Dolly wrote this song for Porter Wagner the man that set beside her at end of video. She was leaving his show and wrote this song for him. Knowing it hurt him. Dolly always wore big wigs. She is currently in her 70s. Still has an amazing voice. You could reacted to her for a month and could not tell her full story. Not only singing. She was an actress. Had charity for children. Opened Dollywood a theme park in Tennessee. So many other thing she did. Worth checking out her other songs and her history.
Dolly’s original coat is long gone. Neither she nor her mother knew what happened to it. They assumed it was passed down till it wore out or was taken apart & repurposed. After the success of the song, Dolly's mother made a "near duplicate" (to the best of her memory), which is on display at Dollywood (along with a fancier version from the movie). She said the pic only shows the upper area, & that the back of the coat was all different, little patches.

It was Dolly's 75th birthday two days ago. Born in 1946! She's such a star and an incredible songwriter. I read that she's written thousands of songs. Some say 3000, others say 5000, but it's a lot!
Thank you so very much for playing "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton. She wrote, sang and played this beautiful song. A lot of people think that it was Whitney Houston but it was not. When Dolly wrote this song Whitney Houston was about fourteen years old. Dolly Part on has been writing and singing and playing songs for about forty something years now and has also wrote about 3,000 songs so far. She can also play the guitar, banjo, piano, auto harp, violin, Appalachian dulcimer, harmonica, and the saxophone. Has won Emmy Awwrds, Grammy Awards, Life Time Music Awards and so forth and so on. And yes she has been inducted in the Country Western Hall of Fame and a few years back had a net worth of about $600 million dollars. She has a Library that she has opened up for little children and has given many, many books and tapes away for free. She is about one of the Greatest Female Country Singers that has ever been. She wrote "I will Always Love You" and a song called "Jolene" in one day. The song, "I will always love you" was kinda meant to be sort of a Dear John Letter to that man that you saw on the tape on his show. He didn't want her to go but once Dolly makes up her mind it's a done thing. You ought to check out "Jolene", A Coat of Many Colors, and one of my favorite little bitty songs that I barely heard about a month and a half ago that I must say, it really brought tears to my eyes. It really, really did. It isn't a song that you would dance to or sing to or even a romantic song Dear Lady but a song that I promise you that will bring tears to your heart and one that you will never ever forget. Especially if you listen to the words and the situation. The name of the song is called "Me and Little Andy". I really would appreciate it so very much if you would listen to this song and would very much let me know of your reaction and true feeling of and about this song. And of course so many, many more. I am not into country music Sweet lady but there is only one Dolly. Her beautiful hair was a wig, she loves wigs , and oh yea, she is also a actress. You got good taste. Adios.
The song may be reinterpreted as a love song, but she wrote it as a business announcement to her mentor and long-time entertainment partner, Porter Wagner (shown with her in this video.) The song was her "2-week notice" that she had decided to leave his TV show and strike out on her own as a solo act.
Hi Marie. Dolly is very open about her wig collection lol. Dolly wrote this song. The guy who came in at the end was Porter Wagoner. He hired Dolly way back to be the new girl singer on his TV show. They had agreed that she would stay for a couple years. Well after a few years she decided to try to make it on her own. She wrote this song for Porter as a good-bye and a thank you. His show became so much more popular with Dolly on it that he didn't want her to leave. He said some kind of nasty things and there was even a law suit over royalties to some songs they had done together as duets. A number of years later Porter kind of fell on hard financial times and was forced to sell his entire collection of songs. Dolly bought it so he would get full value, and then gave the music back to him as a gift. She is such a wonderful person! Supposedly Dolly (who has written over 3000 songs) wrote this song and her song Jolene on the same day. Some say it was a couple days later. Dolly said she can't remember, but they were written on the same piece of paper. She has done a TV show of her own, been in movies etc. When Porter was dying she went to his hospital room often and played and sang for him. There were a series of wild fires in Tennessee and Dolly gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to people to help with rebuilding and temporary housing. She also made generous donations to fire departments in those areas. She also has an amusement park named Dollywood. LOL. Amazing lady. Her song "coat of many colors" is a biographical song about her real life, growing up very poor. Here is a link. th-cam.com/video/c1zJzr-kWsI/w-d-xo.html Love what you are doing Marie. Stay safe and well.
She had/has her own line of wigs. She admits she's never been naturally pretty. As a little girl, she would see the "evening ladies" on the streets of town and thought they looked glamorous...one in particular. Later, she learned what those ladies did, but still thought that one was beautiful and modeled her look after her. That's where she got her signature saying, "You'd be surprised how much it costs to look so cheap!".
Hello marie, great song and reaction, she just had a b day.75 ?still doin great actress ,singer ,songwriter ,owns her own buisiness.its said she wrote this for porter wagoner as she lft his show.he helped get her started.idk for sure?but, what a Beautiful talented Lady!such a voice!grew up with dolly.Wow!love ur reaction to the Original! Dolly was born about 4 years before me, and was always a favorite. She is as sweet a person as she is beautiful, and as is her voice! What an amazing singer, still going at 76!!
Dolly Parton is what I call double beautiful. She is beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside. Fun fact: She always wears long sleeves in public. She has many beautiful tattoos on her body, however she doesn’t like to show them in public. Thank you for your genuine reaction and keep up the good work.
She wrote it, this is the original, and yes an American treasure. One of the most beautiful people inside and out. Lovely version..simple touching. Whitney's version is amazing as well..
Dolly actually wrote this song. In the beginning of her career Dolly wore outlandish wigs that made her hair look big. It was the fashion among country music women of the 60’s and 70’s. She made the statement that she would use her natural hair when she became famous on her own. At that time she was a duo with Porter Wagoner. until 1975 when she decided to go solo. She had a hit in 1973 with Jolene which has been covered by many artists. Dolly is an American institution, in the country music hall of fame, and has appeared in numerous movies with 9 to 5 being her most famous. Dolly also owns an amusement park (Dollywood) in Sevierville TN, a tourist area in the mountains of East Tennessee and her hometown. As a child she was very poor and was brought up in a one-room cabin in the mountains with an outside toilet. She had 11 siblings. One of her sisters, Stella is also a country singer.
@@paulmaxey6377 Crystal Gayle is Loretta Lynn's sister. Plus Patty Loveless is a cousin to Loretta & Crystal. Stella Parton(sang, Standard Lie #1) is Dolly's sister.
That was what you called "Big country hair". Dolly is a very talented lady. She has written many country hits. In the 1980's, she teamed up with Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris to record two albums called "Trio". Beautiful soft songs. I highly recommend them. I use to put my baby to sleep with the first Trio album. By the third song he was asleep because the music is so soothing...He is now 34. Lol. Give them a listen.
I will always love you hit number one in three decades in a row. She wrote it for Porter Wagoner when she was leaving his show in the early 70's (Hit number one). He didn't take her leaving well and was bitter for years. When he was down on his luck, and had to sell his music catalog, Dolly bought it. When he was doing better, she gave it back to him as a gift. She sang to him on his deathbed. She made it a number one hit again in the 1980's when she re-released it for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas soundtrack. Then in the 90's, Whitney Houston took it to number one again. It is one of three songs that were chosen to represent country music in the song Forever Country: Artists of Then, Now, and Forever.
Dolly grew up in the mountains about 2 hours from me. My wife's former boss grew p there also and went to school with Dolly. In Dolly's Museum in Dollywood (if it is still there) has a picture of a school trip to DC i believe and the afore mentioned person is in it.
Wigs and a lot of hairspray (both the wigs and when natural hair on many women through the era into the 80s). Dolly is still a beautiful woman to this day. She always was and forever will be, a true lady in person and in public. She is the definition of a true southern lady.
I've met her twice, and she was lovely in every way both times. SO nice! She came across to people that she was more interested in you than you were interested in her (and we were definitely interested in her)!~
dolly has quite a few good songs, she also has an amusement park in tennessee, if you ever visit you will hear a lot of country music/blue grass, see a lot of different shows and in some rare cases you could even see dolly herself at the park
So most people get the sentiment of the song wrong, I’m reading a book at present about her songs and this song was written to send a gentle message to her then manager Porter Wagner (the guy at the end of the clip) that she wanted to part company and do her own thing. It was the only way he would accept it and free her from her obligations.
Dolly wrote this song. She has written so many great songs. Please check out her songs “ Coat of Many Colors, and Tennessee Mountain Home . Great job as usual. 😎👍👍👍👍
Tres Bien. The irreplaceable impeccable impossibly talented Dolly. She is so lovely and a great actor as well. I think she used a hair dryer with a volumizer and product on her hair, but her hair was naturally bountiful. She sung the song 9 to 5 and was one of the stars in the same named film. I love your reaction and your hair looks perfect don’t ever change it. Another great video from the joyous wonderful French Marie, and her sweet cat Framboisette. Love to you Marie and I wait with anticipation for your next amazing and French Tastic video. I hope you have a lovely week and that you are safe and happy. Au Revoir for now 🌸🌺💐❤️💗💕🇦🇺❤️ 🇫🇷.
DOLLY came from humble background, she is beautiful inside and out She wrote thousands of songs Country still Whitney did it justice in a different way. LISTEN TO Little Andi I CRY EVERY TIME
Dolly wrote this song about leaving her duet partner Porter Wagner.. Porter Wagner had a tv show that dolly was on a sang duet's with him. She decided to go on her own in 1974😉
She has opened an amusement park called, Dollywood. I believe it's located in Tennessee or North Carolina. It's should be a place you visit when the time comes for you r trip to the U.S.A. Her hair is probably a wig. She even brags about the fact that she wears them. She may even have names for them. On a side note, you probably don't hear her singing on the radio, is because she gets paid, whenever Whitney's recording get played.
dolly is a national treasure. she is like an angel. much like karen carppenter. no one sounds like her. she wrote this song for her duet partner porter waggoner who sits down with her at the end of the song. dolly has been recording for over 50 yrs now. she starred in the blockbuster movie 9-5 if you ever get a chance to see that. its with jane fonda and lily tomlin. i never get tired of seeing that movie or listening to anything dolly writes and sings.
Dolly just turned 75 this week. She is a treasure, especially to her native Tennessee. I live about 40 minutes from where she grew up. She has a program called The Imagination Library. All babies/kids birth to 5 years old in the US receive a book every year for their birthday from Dolly if their parents say they want them. A few years ago their was a horrible fire in the East Tennessee mountains that destroyed many, many homes and businesses. Dolly donate to all of those people. Dolly gave one million dollars for the development of the Pfizer vaccine for Covid-19, which is now being used. She provides jobs for thousands at her amusement parks-my grandson was one of them before he left for college. These are just a few things she has done and why we love her. She's also been married to the same man her entire adult life. Quite a lady!
Dolly had a #1 hit with the song in 1974 and again in 1984, I think, when it was used in a movie. She wrote this song about Porter Wagner. He is the man at the end of the video. This was recorded on the Porter Wagoner television show. Dolly had been on the show for about three years before they broke up.
i love her interaction with mr wagner at the end when she told him she was singing it for him, and he said “you sound like you meant it” with the reply “teehee well i kinda did”
She wrote this song to the guy who came out at the end "Porter Wagner". He had given her her big break as a regular on his small syndicated TV show. She was really good for the show but after some time had outgrown it and wanted to leave. He didn't want her to because by that point most watched it because of her. He was older and his career was winding down. She felt she owed him and wouldn't leave without his blessing. She was unhappy and knew he was holding her back. She wrote the song and went to his office and sang it to him. It was an emotional moment but he agreed to her leaving with his blessings. She was soon a super star.
Nice to hear a banjo playing in the background at the beginning of the video. Sounds like the traditional "frailing" or "clawhammer" style of playing. Assume your interest may have started after you heard a little of it being played during the Country Roads (West Virginia) performance. Careful, it can become addicting (but in a good way). Cheers!
Wow! For a second there, I thought you were Dolly Parton! 😁 Seriously, it has always cracked me up when people call this "that Whitney Houston song"! I think to myself.. "then why does Dolly Parton get paid every time Whitney's version is played?" Luv ya, Marie!
Beyond her considerable vocal talent, the best compliment that I could give would be to describe Dolly as a great entertainer. She's a true American treasure. Dolly just celebrated her 74th birthday and she's still every bit as good as she was back when this video was recorded. If you ever have a chance to see her perform, you should go.
Sources for a lot of Country and Folk songs can be found under the show titled "The Grand Ole Opry" (a colloquial spelling or Grand Old Opera) - this venue showcased many talents over the years. from the beginning of television, until into the early 1980's there were "Variety" shows on television. These usually had a combination of musical performers and some comedy. The Ed Sullivan Show was a famous one, as was the Lawrence Welk Show. But there were many others.
Dolly is underrated as musical artist she sings a song called COAT OF MANY COLORS that is beautiful. She was born into extreme poverty but with a heart of gold a wonderful person. Take care FrenchTastic
Dolly is an American legend and treasure. You need to watch a movie Smokey Mountain Christmas staring Dolly Parton. You will love it. Be safe and stay well.
haha they asked Dolly how long it takes to get her hair done she said she didnt know because she's never there! she is so funny! Dolly wrote this song and Jolene in one day!
She wrote this song for Porter Wagner, who was a mentor & had her as a regular on his TV show. Dolly felt constrained by this arrangement & wanted to venture out on her own. The rest is history ! Peace & Love❤😊⚘
That was taken from a 70s tv show called The Porter Wagoner Show. You seem him at the end of that video. Her song about being poor, but full of pride, Coat of Many Colors, and the other woman song, Jolene, are two more you need to hear. Here You Come Again is terrific, but she didn't write that one.
Dolly Parton on more than one occasion has joked that when someone asks how long it takes to fix her hair that she has no idea. 'My stylist takes care of it for me and I just put it on before the show.' Or words to that effect. It doesn't matter when her soul is even more beautiful.
Dolly had a hit with this song - twice. Once when it was first released and again when it was on the sound track of a movie. As everyone knows, she also went to the bank when Whitney Houston had an international hit with it as she was the song writer and retained publishing rights to her song. Elvis wanted to record the song, but it was common practice, per his manager Col. Parker, that the publishing rights were part of any recording deal. Most artists were willing to go along with this because if Elvis recorded your song, you stood to make a great deal of money. Dolly refused to give up her rights and that turned out to be a wise decision on her part, though she has said it was a shame Elvis never got to do it.
Such a beautiful reaction 🥰💕❤. You looked like you were about to cry 😪 because it's such a beautiful song 🎵🎶. There is something to say about the original version of songs 🎙📻, even if the covers are considered better. BTW, Dolly is know for wearing wigs and is proud of it.
Re: Dollys hair, yes, she wears wigs. In the southern States women like to have what I call 'big hair', where they style their hair proofed on top, with a lot of air space. It involves using a lot of hair spray and teasing of their hair. You will find that a lot of the older country women singers do this to their hair. It can be very beautiful. You have long hair, so you could do this to your hair, and it would be beautiful!
That song was written about Dolly leaving Porter Wagoner (the guy at the end of the video) to branch out on her own. Those two had a deep love and respect for each other and the show is where Dolly got her start. Mr. Wagoner didn’t want her to leave and gave her a hard time on her way out, claiming she owed him royalties for songs she had sung on his show. Years later Porter was broke and Dolly (being the angel that she is), bought Wagoners entire song catalogue, which saved him from financial ruin. She then awarded it all back to him for free when he got back on his feet. Dolly Parton is a National Treasure.
The 70's "big hair" thing - it's a styling technique using a blow drier, teasing and combing to build volume, and using certain types of hair sprays.... Dolly has a magnificent voice, and is a true treasure as a human. She grew up very poor and has done much in her life to help out those less well off, and to promote reading and education.
In 1966 or 67, Dolly became a regular performer on The Porter Wagner Show. They fought like cats and dogs (Dolly's words). When her contract was up, Dolly was ready to move on. Porter wanted her to stay, even going so far as to tell her she owed it to him. She wrote this song in one night hoping it would explain how she felt and how grateful she was to him. She sat him down and sang it for him. But he was just too angry. She left the show and went out on her own. Porter actually sued her for the rights to the songs she wrote while under contract with him. And he won the suit. Her songs were legally his. Years later, Porter was sick and broke and mostly forgotten, except in Nashville. He was selling all those songs that he had won. Dolly Parton bought all her songs back from him. Dolly has a beautiful heart full of compassion and forgiveness. She felt no sense of justice or revenge. After buying the songs from him, she gifted them back to him. Even though I loved this song first by Dolly Parton, I also really liked Whitney's version. Whitney Huston's mother, Cissy Huston was one of Elvis Presley's backup singers called "The Sweet Sensations". Cissy Huston later had a stellar career as a gospel singer.
Song lyrics seem to sound more sincere in this country style...that's why pop/country crossovers have been successful (example Shania Twain). Dolly is an amazing character and songwriter...a sweet down-to-Earth Diva.
As beautiful as Dolly was/is, she is even more beautiful on the inside. A true American treasure!

Adios.
Dolly is the queen of country, and always will be!
Such a soft, sweet, love song. One of my favorites, from Dolly.
As Danika Silva siad, You must do more of Dolly, she will make you cry. A beautiful woman with a beautiful heart.
Saying "how" while pointing at your hair is the exact right reaction 😀
Old American saying "The higher the hair, the close to God." She is well known for her wigs as well as other assets.
Nice reaction Marie. Keep up the good work. That right after she decided to leave the Porter Wagner show. She like you is a treasure to watch.
None btr!be safe and happy marie.dan from florida. Ps-she wore wigs.was famous for saying-it takes a lot of money to look this cheap, she laughed about it,-shes soo funny.
Dolly was born about 4 years before me, and was always a favorite. She is as sweet a person as she is beautiful, and as is her voice! What an amazing singer, still going at 76!!
Dolly Parton is an American treasure. So many singer/ song writers to explore. Enjoy Mary 😊
She has been wearing wigs for her stage performances in the last 4 decades 😳
Dolly Parton is what I call double beautiful. She is beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside.
Fun fact: She always wears long sleeves in public. She has many beautiful tattoos on her body, however she doesn’t like to show them in public.
Thank you for your genuine reaction and keep up the good work.
Dolly is a complete treasure. But she had her hair done in the same way Marie Antoinette did! With a huge wig!
She wrote it, this is the original, and yes an American treasure. One of the most beautiful people inside and out. Lovely version..simple touching. Whitney's version is amazing as well..
If ever a song could bring tears to your eyes then this is THE one...so heartwarming and sweet.
Thank you for reacting to this song. Dolly's version has always been my favorite.
Isn't Crystal Gayle related to her someway? A sister or cousin?
@@paulmaxey6377 Crystal Gayle is related to Loretta Lynn, I believe.
@@thomasarussellsr I knew she was related to one of the big female country singers but wasn't 100% sure which one :P
@@paulmaxey6377 No. Crystal Gayle is the sister of Loretta Lynn. They are from Kentucky.
Marie did you know that Dolly Parton had a collaboration with Pentatonix doing her song Jolene which won her and PTx a grammy award for the track
Check my channel, I reacted to it 😍
Dolly grew up in the mountains about 2 hours from me. My wife's former boss grew p there also and went to school with Dolly. In Dolly's Museum in Dollywood (if it is still there) has a picture of a school trip to DC i believe and the afore mentioned person is in it.
Yes, the museum is still at Dollywood. I live 40 minutes from where she grew up.
Marie great job with your reaction to I Will Always Love You from Dolly Parton .
Wigs and a lot of hairspray (both the wigs and when natural hair on many women through the era into the 80s). Dolly is still a beautiful woman to this day. She always was and forever will be, a true lady in person and in public. She is the definition of a true southern lady.
Dolly Parton is one of my all-time favorites. I’ve loved her songs since I was a kid. :-)
Love you Marie! Blessings!
I've met her twice, and she was lovely in every way both times. SO nice! She came across to people that she was more interested in you than you were interested in her (and we were definitely interested in her)!~
Dolly Parton used to have a TV show every week, She always sang this song at the end. I love her and think she is the best!
The hair is a wig. The " big hair " was the style in the 60"s and 70"s . Dolly is quite a icon in country music . One of the biggest. Luv you channel.
dolly has quite a few good songs, she also has an amusement park in tennessee, if you ever visit you will hear a lot of country music/blue grass, see a lot of different shows and in some rare cases you could even see dolly herself at the park
I used to have a kitty like yours. Her name was Snicklefritz, she was a sweetheart. I miss her. I love Dolly and her music.
The women of Country Music are soooooo talented and they also have some of the most amazing outfits lol 😆
Dolly had some great wigs! She probably didn't need them, but, she was so beautiful inside and out! And what a fantastic personality!!
DOLLY came from humble background, she is beautiful inside and out
She wrote thousands of songs Country still
Whitney did it justice in a different way.
LISTEN TO Little Andi
I CRY EVERY TIME
Dolly wrote this song about leaving her duet partner Porter Wagner..
Porter Wagner had a tv show that dolly was on a sang duet's with him. She decided to go on her own in 1974😉
A big "thumbs up" just for the cat. LOL.
Dollywood is in Pigeon Forge TN
@@michellesalgado6331 thank you, I knew I was close.
Dolly Parton is all that is good, kind, generous, beautiful, and lovely that is a human. I am proud to call her my countrywoman.
Dolly wrote that song along with 3,000 others. That hair is a wig. She once quipped "what's a country girl without her haystack".
dolly is a national treasure. she is like an angel. much like karen carppenter. no one sounds like her. she wrote this song for her duet partner porter waggoner who sits down with her at the end of the song. dolly has been recording for over 50 yrs now. she starred in the blockbuster movie 9-5 if you ever get a chance to see that. its with jane fonda and lily tomlin. i never get tired of seeing that movie or listening to anything dolly writes and sings.
well yes, the beautiful songs are behind us....
She has become so famous when her tour bus comes home it’s like Air Force 1 is landing .. she’s a remarkable song writer and singer
Coat of Many Colors has to be your next Dolly song
Dolly had a #1 hit with the song in 1974 and again in 1984, I think, when it was used in a movie. She wrote this song about Porter Wagner. He is the man at the end of the video. This was recorded on the Porter Wagoner television show. Dolly had been on the show for about three years before they broke up.
Thank you for the lovely reaction, Dolly Parton amazing lady and loved your review, you made me smile. 👍😁🌹🌹🇬🇧
i love her interaction with mr wagner at the end when she told him she was singing it for him, and he said “you sound like you meant it” with the reply “teehee well i kinda did”
She wrote this song to the guy who came out at the end "Porter Wagner".
Finally somebody who knows. Great reaction. Next maybe try reacting to Jolene by DP.
And Marie, yes, this century needs singers like Dolly Parton and Bobbie Hatfield again 😊!
Your reaction to this Dolly Parton song is priceless .
When most celebrities are all about themselves, she's one of the few that will take time to to talk to anybody.
Beautiful lady , beautiful voice! Still got it today!
She wrote this song for Porter Wagner, who was a mentor & had her as a regular on his TV show. Dolly felt constrained by this arrangement & wanted to venture out on her own. The rest is history ! Peace & Love❤😊⚘
Don't fix what ain't broke (my dad would say) You're perfect sis. Don't fix it
Dolly Parton has her own like an amusement park in America .
Brings tears to my eyes every time!
I remember the huge hair rollers women would use to get that volume. also lots of teasing.
She has Dollyworld in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. I have been to her Dixie Stampede in Branson, MO several times. She is a very generous person and kind.
And that was so sweet bless her little bitty heart thanks
The 70's "big hair" thing - it's a styling technique using a blow drier, teasing and combing to build volume, and using certain types of hair sprays.... Dolly has a magnificent voice, and is a true treasure as a human.
She grew up very poor and has done much in her life to help out those less well off, and to promote reading and education.
Google " HEE HAW"
a country music t.v. show with a side of comedy😂😂 I grew up watching it with my parents.. On a black and white t.v 😉
Dolly Parton is the best and not many people actually know she wrote the song for Porter Wagonner when she left his show
Happy Birthday, Dolly! ⭐
Song lyrics seem to sound more sincere in this country style...that's why pop/country crossovers have been successful (example Shania Twain). Dolly is an amazing character and songwriter...a sweet down-to-Earth Diva.
Dolly Parton is possibly one of the most prolific song writers of all time. She has written over 1,000 songs.
