Would love to see a build thats like "the most realistic house" that includes all the mundain things like utility rooms, hall closets, rooms that make sense for plumbing and electrical (like bathrooms back to back or stacked) stuff like that
I appreciate that you take into account how the house will be to play in live mode. I see so many builds on the gallery that look nice but are not functional.
Agree that homes from this era and style are darker unless a homeowner completely rewires it. It’s too bad turrets/round walls aren’t more useable. I always imagine the turrets have a built in window seat that takes up the entire curve with cushions and throw pillows. The perfect spot to enjoy a cup of your favorite beverage while reading a good book and enjoying the view through the windows (the tops of which would be stained glass).
My legacy family I did this for, before curved walls came out. The windows from realm of magic on the tower and a nice armchair with a plant inside. So cozy. Hehe
i don't leave comments often, but i've been really enjoying your content the past few months! i love that you've come back to super sim as well 🫶 keep it up James !
As a base game Sims player who has purchased no packs or anything in the Sims I can't wait to download this house, It's the best base game house I've seen yet!! Thank you for giving us base game players a nice house to download! 💕
i really appreciate all the base game builds lately since i've had to restart my sims collection from scratch. i only have cottage living, dream home decorator and tiny living lol.

I'm actually working on a series of builds just like that! Kind of like Deligracy's Buildcrest series but my own take on it - I'll be releasing them once they're all done so if you see a flood of builds like that from one user - it's me xD
I love it. The pops of color, with the white really pops. With a little creativity, base game can go a long way. Amazing build 🤗 I love the master bath setup ❤️🥰
I would love to see you use this same shell but for a completely different vibe of family; like Gothic witchy vibes, super modern, or super hippy/green vibes, not even necessarily only base game because some of those themes would be so hard in only base game
I absolutely love that you explain which lot exactly that you're building on!!! I wish all builder simmers would do that and that everyone would put it in the description on the gallery
I’ll definitely have to download this house. I usually note a ton of things I would change in builds but there are only a couple things I would change in this house. Maybe make that half bath a “pantry” and probably move the bench on the front porch. But it’s an awesome build!
This is one of my favorite styles to build in, it's awesome to see you do this with base game. This came out beautifully. The perfume set makes sense, a reminder to add a spritz on the way out.
I love how the build turned out! Can't believe you did all this with just base game 😮 also just wanna say how amazing your content has been, it's literally the only thing keeping my interest in the sims going! 🌟
A comment about the lighting. I heard that some people use the small saucer light and put it on top of the chandelier lights--or whatever light you are using. I think it really brightens things up a bit.
Just the roofing on this is amazing, so creative. I am having trouble roofing with the new curve walls but you make it look easy. Also love the wrap round porches
I hate when people say “oh I did a challenge where I only built in base game it was sooooo *hard* “ when literally 50% of Sims players don’t have any packs and they build with base game all the time. It boils my blood.
I appreciate you building a style you don’t normally build! I love how it came out! The Queen Anne or Victorian homes are my absolute favorite. I would love to use this house to play in. ❤️

Especially since my two kids (6&9) love to play but need a quick pick gallery build to start them off on their simming journey. 😅
Not trying to take away from James’ builds as I love them, just trying to be helpful-Schnuck does a lot of builds with base game only and many other combos. She uses the T.O.O.L. mod extensively, but you don’t need it in yours to use the builds. Zero CC, always play tested, and often does fun stories about the sims that live in the particular build. She’s also done some background stories/builds for characters-like Don Lothario as a kid, what influenced his personality. I have so many JTYT, Schnuck, DrGluon, and Peacemaker builds in my gallery and game lol. Love that you and your kids play, too!
I hate making roofs! There are like 20+ techniques you kind of need to know and understand to get them to mix and blend even decently and still (as demonstrated) it is a lot of trial and error. But when you know / can remember like 5 techniques... roofs become brick walls that bring my builds to a halt!
While I’m incredibly grateful for HVAC systems, there’s nothing like sleeping outside on a perfect night! Of course having the choice makes all the difference
This turned out really beautiful! The time and patience it takes to build something so nice.... Well done James! Proof that with a little time and effort you totally can build an amazing NOT starter home!
Love this build! The floor plan flowed very well! I can never get my floor plans to flow! I always make open floor plans or it takes me an hour to do a decent floor plan and I usually have too many rooms
As someone who mostly uses only base game (besides the island expansion pack for mermaids) I love this house! I like the blue exterior and the queen anne style that you see over on the east coast of the US. We don't have any houses like those on the west side so I would like to live vicariously through my sims and buy this house lol.
oooo, the thought and skill that went into this, the layout...... i love that dining room into the backyard or into that hella fun, cozy looking parlour. what a nice little spac

I find it hard to fill houses with only base game because even though there’s a lot of stuff in base game now I struggle to find enough things for a whole house without repeating things too many times. I guess I’m just not very creative 😂 this is a nice well rounded family home that is big enough to expand but doesn’t feel so big that it’s intimidating, if that makes sense. Sometimes I struggle to play in massive houses because following sims around or trying to find stuff in a huge house can get really annoying sometimes. I like that this is a big house that is simple enough that you won’t get lost trying to find everything, if that makes sense.
I'm so happy you did this base game house, making a base game build look good is a talent and the creativity to fill every nook or that big weird shape bathroom though, wow. Looks great.

i believe that parlor comes from french "parler" (to speak) as it's usually a room you'd bring in informal-but-not-so-much guests to chat and spend time in a more comfortable setup than the formal sitting room :)
This is such a cool build! I always struggle with filling larger build like this one, and I really like this style. It would be really great to see a base game (or all packs!) home that starts as a starter home, but has 2 or 3 versions so there's a starter, a next step (with maybe an extra bedroom and updated appliances) and then a final version when your sims have "made it".
I live in a old Victorian house like this I think this looks really good. Barely any lighting chandelier glitching and old Victorian lamps. And we have dark wooden floors. I love this build.
Love this build James, it has everything you need, and will be easy to customise over time if you want and add some different bits from other packs and such. I’ll be adding this to my game for sure xx

I really have to admire your ability to just throw sh*t together and it looks amazing. When i build houses in this game it always ends up looking so basic no matter how eccentric i try to make it look.
I would love to see your take on a modern base game build, most base game builds I see are similar to this style, traditional/Queen Anne style. Not a starter home. It would probably be easier to do some interesting modern style stuff with no budget limitations.
just a comment: if a family in the past can afford that panneling -- they can afford make every siitting area in some intresting colors or themes. formal white, informal red with library, blue with floral motiffs etc. strict theme of all rooms make house look cheap in previos days. just a note for those who want make house like that more intresting but with purpose sorry for my english btw

If the surroundings weren't so sunny and lively, this house would look like every horror movie house from 80s/90s LOL
