Phew, a few technical difficulties getting this video up but it's here, yay! Hope you enjoy this vlog style video, I was amazed by how much content I filmed so decided to split this video into two. Let me know if you have any video requests 🥰 Kay x
Tip #1 Always paint the ceilings first. Otherwise you'll end up with tiny splatters of ceiling paint from the roller onto the walls. Any larger smears etc will ruin the wall paint. I am about to paint the entire interior of my home as well as sand and refinish the hardwood oak floors throughout.
@@Livingthelifeyoulove love it!! Cant wait to see the outcome! I absolutely love cottages, with the little secret gardens, that are not so secret hahaha. I cant wait to see what you do with the backyard! They dont really have cottages in the US, or morr so California. I guess not a cute english one by cottage fairy tale standards 😆
Binge watching your older videos and found this gem! Love how beautiful your home turned out, it’s so peaceful and calming!!! Sending my best to you, Dom, Echo & Rory!! 🥰❤️🐱
I would get a lighter shade of the darker green. The darker one is a prettier type of green but if the whole point of painting was to lighten the space up then go for something lighter!
Both the greens you prefer are very nice. The first one is lovely and soft and the second one is brighter which may look good as you said it is west facing.
@@Livingthelifeyoulove Sometimes impossible. I bought three sample pots from Little Green, choose the one I thought would look best for the room and painted one wall. It didn't look good and ended up painting it all white!
Can't wait for the next video. I think the darker green color is so much better. It comes out nice and goes better with the cottage-y feel. If you were to paint your kitchen cabinets, then I'd go with a lighter green.
I have a colour similar to your fave darker green in my kitchen - and am regretting it, it turned out too dark. The paler bluey one would be my choice. Good luck!
Oh wow! From what was behind you in the outro, it looks like you guys have done a ton of work! So beautiful. Can't wait to see more videos of how you did it!
Hello from Washington State! I’m so happy your back! I’ve been following you for a few years now and your videos always put me in a positive mood. Your cottage is so lovely and the garden looks amazing! I’m so looking forward to all the upcoming content!
Hi Kay and Dom it's so exciting when renovating your 1st new home. My husband and I renovated our home a lot of hard work sweat tears but in the end it's worth it. you two are doing a great job❤
Its funny you say you always wanted a house with beams. I remember hack when I lived in the UK and i was looking at buying a house. My biggest requirement was beams! I think they make a house look so cute and quaint. 😍 You guys are doing such a great job in the house, its looking so good!
@@Livingthelifeyoulove Before nomadic life took over me, I did plan to settle down somewhere eventually xD I love the thick dark wooden beams in cottages, I always dreamed of those haha.. Maybe one day :P x
I like the darker of the two greens and think it’d be a nice contrast to the white.....but then with you saying that you were concerned about light levels, a lighter colour may be better. I’d say go with your instincts. Your first guess is probably the right one. Trust me, repainting because you didn’t trust your instincts the first time is not fun.
Your home is filled with such character, I can't wait to see more 😍 I was in a slump in my money-saving journey but your videos have motivated me all over again
The darker sage green, it's more neutral and will go with more colors. If however you pick the lighter green it'll be easy to paint over if you decide it's not for you.
i'm looking forward to seeing which green you went with in the end! Your content is always so calming :) Loving these videos, I live in a rental and we aren't permitted to paint our flat.
Hi ya my lovely! You’re doing a great job. The white has really brightened everything up, it’s amazing what a cost of paint can do. It’s going to be a beautiful home for you both. Sending love Mo xxx (Where is your crystal channel? Same as your jewellery one?) xxx
Thanks lovely! Isn't it just, I can't believe the difference it's made! The crystal store is called Luana Gemstones, here's a link 💛 www.etsy.com/uk/shop/luanacreationsbykay
So pretty! You did a great job!! I'd also love to know what brand vacuum that is by chance? :) I have been looking for one like that! It looks fairly lightweight and Cordless??
Living the life you love it’s always hard to tell a colour properly on camera vs real life too - it’s really satisfying watching you putting down roots after all of your wandering if that makes sense - I’m sure it will manage to be both a spring board for your future travel adventures and a safe place to land 😘 xx
I was intrigued myself so just measured 😂 it depends which corner of the room you measure in as nothing in this house is level 🤣 but about 220cm under the beams or 225cm to the ceiling 🙂 They're quite high for a cottage to be honest!

Can I suggest putting in an inset wood burner instead no need to remove the bottom bricks

Your Dom is a good guy jumping in with both feet to help with the reno, as I can see now you both did a great job.
I loved the tiles behind the old oven!
Definitely the darker green, more forest like. Goes with the white better.
yesss, i'm with you on that one x

Thank you 🥰 I agree with you, I feel the other greens are suited more to a kitchen or bathroom
Love how this turned out, the white brightens it up so much :) :)
Thank you Kay! I was really pleased too 💛
I can’t wait to see the next vlog. So glad to see you here again. Your videos are always calming and joyful. I especially appreciate that right now.
Thank you, so happy you're enjoying them 💛
FUN! I love watching you make your home. :) I think your colors are going to be the same ones we have in our cabin, so I can't wait to see more.

It's looking fantastic. I can't wait to see all the furniture in situ.

Thank you! So lovely to hear you renovated your home too 😍💛
The white looks beautiful in there. Not a fan of the greens but the more muted one on the left would be my preference if I had to choose. Lovely home!
Thank you 🥰 the white really does make it so much brighter x

Super happy to hear that, it was fun to film/edit too 🥰
Loving these home videos. And yes. I know the *exact* video. The New Zealand guy and his deeek 😂
So good to hear that! Hahahha so happy you're on the same wavelength as Dom 😂🤣
I won’t make the caulk comment, as that may offend 🤣
So happy to see you back! You have such a calming and uplifting nature. Wish nothing but the best for you in this next chapter xo

Thank you lovely 💛 it's hard to save but it's always worth it, keep going after your goals 🌟💃
I like the bottom green and also the top right. The others are a little too bright for me. Good luck decorating!
Great vid. From the spoiler view it looks really nice 😍
Yay! Thank you, I can't wait to share it xx
It looks wonderful
Thank you Manda! 💛

Great advice! That's what we decided in the end, whichever we choose isn't the end of the world as we can paint over it 🥰

I think you'll love it, I do! So happy you find it calming 💛 It's so tricky when you can't paint isn't it, it was the same in my past rental too x
It looks great! Good job
Thank you lovely! 🥰

love the green we have a colour in our house called willow tree by Dulux :) x
Oooh I will check that colour out 🥰

Thanks! 🥰 it's a Dyson V10 animal - it's brilliant! Expensive but a worthy investment, I use it every day and it's so quick and convenient.
@@Livingthelifeyoulove thank you so much! 💛😊
Love your beautiful pants _🌸💗🌸
Can you buy a gas or electric insert fireplace? It doesn’t usually require venting
We got an electric log fire 🥰
❤️❤️❤️
💛💛💛
I would call that “mushy pea green” more of a “sage green” instead maybe?
hmmmm, i'm not sure I thought that at to start with but once it dried it was very bright haha.

What is the height of these rooms? Sorry, just curios. It looks lovely, I would really like to live in it as well :) Congrats!
