Why not give some more info: what is the name of the pipeline etc? Doing some google searches yields some reports dating back to nov. 18 saying this new pipeline connects to Power of Siberia 1 in Northeastern China.
Power of Siberia gas pipeline has a capacity of 38 billion cubic meters, while the capacity of the pipelines to EU is/was much bigger. Nord Stream 1 and 2 had 55 billion cubic meters capacity each. Yamal has 33 billion cubic meters capacity. Brotherhood pipeline has 100 billion cubic meters capacity. Turkish stream has 31 billion cubic meters capacity. Blue stream has 18 billion cubic meters capacity. The completion of Power of Siberia will allow the project to reach its full annual designed capacity of 38 billion cubic meters in 2025, roughly 9% of China's consumption this year. China does not want to be fully dependant on one provider, which is smart in my humble opinion.
Now Germany can enjoy its expensive risk-free democratic high-end gas from the US. Bravo!!!
