- I've finished my pink and gray bandana quilt. This video shows how I select the binding fabric and complete the quilt! Enjoy:)
Join me for Truelove Family stories (which I have many, as a mother of 10 kids), Mothering Autism, with our Maxwell on our many fun car rides, and Free quilting class and sewing lessons! And as in a 'classroom' setting, my tutorials are approximately 1/2 hour+ long....So Join me in my home sewing room, out and about and trying to make all sorts of quilted goodies! Be aware ~ I like to chat and probably repeat myself over and over, (and stutter sometimes), and if this annoys you, then view elsewhere - but, if patient, you hopefully will learn a new method or technique and get an insight into a very large family and their crazy fun:)
And as always: Love From The Trueloves;) - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
Thanks for sharing your tutorials and life. You seem to put us at ease with everything so we aren't stressed out and even if we are we know we aren't alone and you help so much. Thank you for everything Jean. I like the rounded corners too because they lay better on the bed better.
It’s so rewarding to share my love of quilting with others!
Jean it's so pretty. your so clever
Thanks so much:)
I love the pink and the black together
One of my most favorite color combos!!
I absolutely love your wonderful attitude and such a great teacher for everyone 💕
Aw thanks Cathy:) Life is too short to take things THAT seriously!! LOL!
Dear Jean, that gingham binding really finishes the quilt off beautifully. As usual you made it look so easy especially with the rounded corners. Love to all the Trueloves 🏴
Thanks Margaret:) I like this quilt....I love the colors:)
Now I know how to do this. I gave up on one quilt just putting the backing together with gingham. I'm going to use it for a binding.
So glad you found this helpful!
Your banana quilt looks awesome especially with the gingham black & white binding, it's perfectly matched.
Thanks so much:)
Love the use of gingham for the binding. The quilt came out beautiful! Can’t wait to see what’s next.
Oh thanks so much:)
Amazingly done as always, looks beautiful and at an affordable price 👏👏👏 Good for you Jean rounded corners, gingham binding, and a top made with bandanas fantastic, thank you for sharing with us. 👍❤️😊
Yes, thanks Carmen, this quilt top only cost $12!! Not a great fantastic quality, but sweet and cozy, nevertheless:)
As always, a beautiful quilt - love the gingham binding. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much! Glad you like it!
Jean, you are such a skilled seamstress! I do LOVE the gingham binding as it frames the quilt with a fun/cute trim. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I love that detail, too.
Perfect binding fabric!
Thanks Julie:)
Always have useful advice for us all. Thankyou Jean 😊
Thanks Jo:)
Wow you cut the gingham without a ruler great job the black and white sets it off beautiful 😊
I love the way the black and white pops against the gingham!
Jean I must say your videos go before all other videos love you and your family ❤ greetings from Sweden ❤
Wow, thank you!
I’m starting a baby quilt, think I will round corners! Looks so much softer with the orders rounded. Thank you💕
I love the rounded corners. I started them because I had trouble with mitered corners but even though I CAN do a squared off corner, I just love the look of a soft rounded corner!
It turned out so beautiful Jean!!
Glad you like it Maria:)
❤❤❤❤
Beautiful. I have started rounding my corners as well. Love it. Thanks for sharing.
It’s so much easier than mitered corners, isn’t it? 😉
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory Yup. Yup Yup. I love it.
Wow what a pretty quilt. Will certainly give those rounded corners a go. Look beautiful. Desley🇦🇺
You must try Desley:)
Love your videos. I only do curved corners now! I don't mind bindings now and it looks better.
OH! that is wonderful to hear!!
Beautiful. When I use gingham for binding I cut my strips on the bias and it is not as fiddley. You did good.
Thank you:) But do you get the same 'look' when the gingham/plaid is cut on the bias?
I think I might try a rounded corner too!
You must!
Beautiful quilt! Which granddaughter gets this one? Your binding connection was spot on! Great demo!
Oh thank you! Ah geeeeeez.....we have SO many granddaughters!!! LOL! LOL!
Nice tutorial would have like to seen you quilting with baby jazz still trying figure out my machine. Thanks
It can take some time to get the hang of it but once you do it's so fun!
Another great finish! Thanks for sharing. Do you save your excess strips of fabric and batting that you trimmed off before binding for future scrappy projects?
THanks so much:) I don't save the scraps. I don't love scrappy quilts per se.
No mitered corners, so cool! 👍 Is it truly that easy? Do you have to cut the binding strip length of fabric for this to work?
It's ever so easy:) You just need to make sure to STICK with the 1/4" seam and ease ease ease ease ease around those corners. If you pull in the slightest the rounded corners will NOT lay flat and will 'cup' up. I always cut cross ways for my binding - 2 1/4" wide.
That is such a cute quilt! I have always wanted to make a bandanna quilt but I worry because the fabric seems so thin and would be difficult to work with. I am in Ohio and would love to know where you buy bandannas for $.99! I could buy them for that price years ago but not now.
I got mine from Hobby Lobby. And yes, the cotton is not that great a quality, but what do you want for $.99!! I keep saying that this is more of a picnic/car quilt...certainly not an 'heirloom quality', but sweet nevertheless and WILL stand up to wear - just not forever!! And I found the hankies were fine to quilt with.
@ Thank you Jean. I agree that it wouldn’t be heirloom quality but that is okay with me. I guess I should have mentioned that. I swear that I knew you said that. 😂I guess I was more just curious how difficult that you thought it was to work with. I have heard others say that it was horrible. Just looking for your opinion. 😊
I think it’s fresh…very spring.summery…….
Thank you:)
